So could Relan acrobatically jump to the roof and then to the ground (two rollls) as part of a single move and then attack the guy with wings?

However, since I just double checked that I actually posted it, the man flies up at the end of last round, so he is no longer on the ground

Hmm. Was Relan skipped somewhere in there? He has not acted since the black tentacles was cast.

Black tentacles last round

This round: finish 1 round cast on leep, cast confusion, dimension door disorientstion, Ardoc flies up,

M Human Level 10 Fighter (Lore Warden) HP 117/121 AC 27 (30 Expertise) (+15 Perception; +4 Init; Fort +12, Ref +11, Will 7+4 vs fear) +2 vs transmutation and necromancy)

And Relan never acted. Getting Dimension Doored should not count as his action. I had asked at least once if he was up.

Using a dimension door prevents you from acting until the beginning of your next turn

I am pretty sure only for the caster. I cannot count the number of times my wizard has dim doored the fighter to the enemy caster to let the fighter come out of delay. Standard tactics.

M Human Wizard (Manipulator) 9 HP 43/43 (AC 14) Fort +5 Ref +7 Will +10/+12vsEnchanmen9

It's one of my tables favorite tactics.

I can see that read. I tend to play the conservative side of spell casting, but if that's the rule you're used to, we can go with it.

Roll your acro checks then, Relan and we will see what you can do before he flies up.

M Human Level 10 Fighter (Lore Warden) HP 117/121 AC 27 (30 Expertise) (+15 Perception; +4 Init; Fort +12, Ref +11, Will 7+4 vs fear) +2 vs transmutation and necromancy)

Hasted, Relan tries to bring the fight to the wizard. Drawing his pole arm as he moves he quickly jumps from the walk to the roof and from the roof to the ground where he attacks the prone wizard. As he swings he turns the blade to do non-lethal damage, remembering that he had agreed not to kill the man

Acrobatics 1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19

Acrobatics 2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

+1 keen guisarme vs prone enemy: 1d20 + 17 + 1 + 2 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 17 + 1 + 2 + 2 - 4 = 362d4 + 9 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (1, 4) + 9 + 9 + 2 = 25

Prone bonus should offset the -4 for nonlethal. Hope I have the buffs right. Bard song and haste, oh and Herosim. What else? And now the question is will he provoke once when he flies away or twice since he really needs to get up from prone.

Sorry, missed this earlier: Nalar, the Kiln is about 500 feet away

Actually he won't fly up ... he's confused, he'll attack Relan.
I've moved Relan and the Ardoc to the ground floor level where they actually are.

Relan Miss vs Blur: 1d100 ⇒ 5

Relan drops down moves a few feet and then drops down again, landing like a cat and swinging to smack the fallen Ardoc with the butt of his pole arm misjudging where the man is due to his blurry nature. He stands up, ripping his chisel from his neck and rushes at the warrior swinging horribly awry. (Draws an AoO on the stand)

To hit vs Relan: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

Feather Crossed Lovers Round 7

Init: Nalar, Braelex, Relan, Vuloo, Andel, Herifax, Kanya, Berkanin, Petey

Nalar fires down a pair of scorching rays at the man as well striking him once with burning fire as the other one misses just wide due to the strange blurring magic.

Nalar Miss vs Blur: 1d100 ⇒ 8

Braelex drinks an elixir as Andel fires an arrow and Vuloo starts a spell.

Thanks Dm, Everyone I have a plan. Going to try and Charm him on my turn then Dimension Door him to 'safety'.

As the wizard tries to stand Relan smacks him with the side of his blade in the head, connecting for non-lethal damage.

+1 keen guisarme vs prone enemy: 1d20 + 17 + 1 + 2 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (9) + 17 + 1 + 2 + 2 - 4 = 272d4 + 9 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (1, 3) + 9 + 9 + 2 = 24

Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 75

Moving away from the man so that he can better use his pole arm, Relan then attacks, this time lethal damage, hoping to both damage and trip the man.

+1 keen guisarme: 1d20 + 17 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 17 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 302d4 + 9 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (4, 2) + 9 + 9 + 2 = 26

Miss chance: 1d100 ⇒ 47

Felling Smash: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (1) + 28 = 29

Miss chance, if needed: 1d100 ⇒ 11

Hmm. First, not sure a 1 auto fails a trip or not since its a contest. What is your call on that? Second, if so, I a not sure I need a second blur roll here as a felling smash is one attack. Again, your call. but even it the attack trips And I do not need the miss chance roll that miss chance would apply to the follow on AOO from greater trip and so would miss. So I shall not even roll that AOO.

Surrender and call off your allies if you wish to live. he threatens.

It's pretty clear

Combat Maneuvers:

Determine Success: If your attack roll equals or exceeds the CMD of the target, your maneuver is a success and has the listed effect. Some maneuvers, such as bull rush, have varying levels of success depending on how much your attack roll exceeds the target's CMD. Rolling a natural 20 while attempting a combat maneuver is always a success (except when attempting to escape from bonds), while rolling a natural 1 is always a failure.

Relan gets an opportune blow in as the man stands and then follows up with a vicious strike. Surprisingly, the wizard is able to leap out of the way of the trip.

Confusion Roll: 1d100 ⇒ 4; act normally

Berkanin shakes his head and then takes a step back from Relan as realization dawns on him. He casts a quick spell stating simply, "Get upstairs as quick as you can and kill those intruders. Don't hurt the harpy, the clockwork dragon, or the catwoman."

Relan make a Will Save DC18 or be dominated and essentially do what he tells you to, no amibiguity. Since killing your friends i against your nature, I'd say, you gain a +2 bonus to the roll

Perception DC18:
You hear flapping noise and the shuffling of wood on wood from the shack to the south of you

The catwoman steps away from the edge of the roof and disappears.

Hmm. So even though I was delayed and made the perception check I could not come out of delay and move first? I read Nalar's post but am just getting home and can not longer post from work.

Delay is not ready ... Ready interrupts. Delay means you go after some other initiative action (so technically, we're At Relan, End of Round 8). Nalar's post while interesting in the grand scheme of keeping the plot line together is late considering he acted earlier in the round and didn't have the opportunity for the perception roll. Combat banter is one thing, but carrying on a back and forth dialogue to allow you to make decisions is another.

M Human Wizard (Manipulator) 9 HP 43/43 (AC 14) Fort +5 Ref +7 Will +10/+12vsEnchanmen9

"Relan, Nooo!" Nalar shouts as the warrior is engulfed. For a moment he is torn between his mission and helping his friend. "Thyrl, stbalize the wizard." He commands his familiar as it flys down to the ground, it's silver star glow as it casts stabilize on Berkanin.

Looking around for answers Nalar catches sight of the Harpy, leaning out the window slighty he calls on the power of the Shard of Lust. "You should kill the monster before it kills your boss!" He shouts.
Suggestion DC 14, up to the DM is it's a reasonable suggestion.
As he calls on the magic of the shard he turns to run inside, heading for the stairs.

M Human Level 10 Fighter (Lore Warden) HP 117/121 AC 27 (30 Expertise) (+15 Perception; +4 Init; Fort +12, Ref +11, Will 7+4 vs fear) +2 vs transmutation and necromancy)

Was not acting on Nalar for the record. I knew what the creature had to be. The only reason I had not retreated when you posted was I worked 10 hours and went to the gym. But I will roll with it. Also the site seems slow and unstable at the moment.

Relan catches sight of the creature as it closes oh him and attacks mostly by instinct. His keen weapon cuts deeply into the creature.

+1 keen guisarme: 1d20 + 17 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 17 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 412d4 + 9 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (1, 4) + 9 + 9 + 2 = 25

Confirm: 1d20 + 17 + 1 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 17 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 394d4 + 18 + 18 + 4 ⇒ (2, 2, 1, 2) + 18 + 18 + 4 = 47

I will need to better understand my options. Can I use a two handed weapon while grappled and engulfed? If not can I pull another weapon. I have forgotten much of how this works. :(

M Human Wizard (Manipulator) 9 HP 43/43 (AC 14) Fort +5 Ref +7 Will +10/+12vsEnchanmen9

If the grapple was what provoked the attack of opportunity then the damage is applied as a penalty to the maneuver. While grappled you can't take an action the requires two hands.

It was movement through a threatened square, not the grapple.
You cannot use 2 hands, you may draw a weapon. As far as retreat, I assumed you intentionally didnt retreat to protect the Ardoc, which is why you posted a delay (which is an action)

M Human Level 10 Fighter (Lore Warden) HP 117/121 AC 27 (30 Expertise) (+15 Perception; +4 Init; Fort +12, Ref +11, Will 7+4 vs fear) +2 vs transmutation and necromancy)

Ok. So Relan would like to come out of delay. :) He still power attacks but Furious Focus does not negte the minus for his attack.

Suddenly unable to breath Relan releases his pole arm with one hand and draws a weapon more designed for close fighting.

Longsword: 1d20 + 14 + 1 + 2 + 2 - 3 ⇒ (20) + 14 + 1 + 2 + 2 - 3 = 361d8 + 5 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 5 + 6 + 2 = 16

Feather-crossed Lovers Round 9

Relan, having prepared for something gets a vicious slash in before he's enveloped, dropping his polearm within the creature's crushing embrace.
