DM Carbide |

I'm dealing with some serious homeowner hell this weekend (cleaning up after getting the floors replaced), so I will be extremely slow to post.

DM Carbide |

We had it done by a contractor, but about half the floor had been carpeted for over forty years. The dust under it went *everywhere*, and cleaning it up was a right pain.

Trianne Ashton |

That’s my cue. I alerted John and have been planning to step away from the game since the turn of the year, life intercessions and all of that. The almost 7 years shared have been thoroughly enjoyable, and I wish you all well on your adventures ahead.
Looks like there’s a Cleric of Shelyn in your near future, (welcome MindXing!) so I leave you in capable hands. If asked, Trianne says she needs to return home to lay to rest her original reason for coming to the Mindspin Mountains. To mitigate some of the loot ratio, she would leave the party with the following items when she departs as she wouldn’t need them on her journey home:
Agile Alpenstock
Pleochroic Tourmaline x2 - Map to the Giantslayer’s Tomb!
Scroll of Resiste Elements (Lightning) x2
Scroll of Vanish
Shield Cloak
True Love Locket - taken from Skreed
Wand of Magic Missile - 37 Charges
Light Horse - stabled for 30 days at our departure point, she’ll leave word with the keeper
Bit & Bridle
Riding Saddle
Saddle Bags
Thanks for the fun and good hunting all!

Kronug the Merciless |

Sorry to see you go!
I know I have only recently arrived but I did enjoy my Kellid fighting alongside an Ulfen. Trianne was a great character.

DM Carbide |

Does anyone want a PFS chronicle sheet for this part?

Kronug the Merciless |

It's probably not worth collecting Chronicle sheets for this one unless I can someday get a run of Part 1, right? Because I believe there is a multi-part boon?

DM Carbide |

There's a multi-part boon, but losing the Part 1 aspect doesn't obviate the whole thing.

Roshelle Zaire |

I didn't do anything extra to make sure that my character was PFS legal. Was that a requirement? At this point I'm not aware of anything I've done for the character this is not PFS legal, I'm just saying that I didn't watch out for that. Is that a problem?

Kronug the Merciless |

Okay, I'll take a chronicle sheet. 108731-8. Thank you!
@Roshelle - welcome! If you are set on your build, great, happy to have you. If you would be interested in any thoughts from others, I have a couple to offer should you be so inclined.

DM Carbide |

@Roshelle: I'm running this in campaign mode, so we don't have to (and aren't) following PFS character restrictions.

DM Carbide |

Experience is totaled up, and you're over halfway to L7.
Looting the bodies and the rest of the castle, in addition to what you found in the room with the manticores you find:
Platinum holy symbol of Gorum, worth 100 gp
6 composite longbows, +6 STR, worth 700 gp each
On a skeleton in the cesspool, you find a ring with Calrianne Blix's heraldry; to her, it's worth 100 gp

Roshelle Zaire |

I see that you're not yet at level 7. I created Roshelle as a level 7 character. Do I need to take her down one level temporarily?

Roshelle Zaire |

Also, I keep putting a custom avatar image up and it works for a while then it goes away. This is the first time I've tried using a custom avatar image in the forums so maybe I'm doing it wrong. Are you guys seeing the picture of Roshelle with a pink hair covering?

DM Carbide |

I'm seeing a red-armored elf.

Roshelle Zaire |

Hmm. That's a bummer. That's not what I'm seeing. I wonder how to get the avatar changed for everyone. I know I've seen other players that do that.

The Stone Fist |

As for Trianne’s stuff, we’ll keep the tourmaline map, obviously. Can Seamus use any of the wizardy stuff? If not, Trianne should just keep it. Same with the mundane stuff as far as Haftor is concerned.

DM Carbide |

The total fungible loot from the fort (dowry and other sellable items) netted 6975 gp, assuming you sell the glory medallion. The ogre chief had a javelin of lightning, a scroll of mirror image, two scrolls of speak with dead, a wand of summon monster iii with 8 charges remaining, and a headband of alluring charisma +2. The giant you think is Grenseldek had a potion of cure serious wounds, a suit of +1 scale mail, a +2 handaxe, a masterwork handaxe, and a masterwork composite bow, +9 STR rating. (All her gear is Large size.)

Jarrek Everstand |

Thanks DM! I assume we'll sell all the Large size armor and weapons, too. Keep the potion, though.
That's another 6087 (50% of 12174) for a total of 13062 to split (=3265.5 to split 4 ways).
Does anybody else want the Headband? If not, Jarrek will be happy to take it.

The Stone Fist |

Haftor will claim the Speak with Dead scrolls. He could also use the Javelin of Lightning, if nobody else wants it.
Haftor doesn't want the headband, and can't use the wand.
Who wants to carry the potion of CMW?
Haftor has the Castellan's chain of office from Redlake Fort. Do any of the Lastwall officials want it?
Finally, Haftor claimed some scrolls earlier and I'm realizing he can't use them. Can anyone use these?
scroll barkskin
scroll call lightning
scroll summon nature's ally IV

DM Carbide |

The castellan's ensemble is included in the fungible loot.

DM Carbide |

Busy week at work and tonight was my in-person PFS game night, but I should have time to post this weekend.

DM Carbide |

I'm about to leave for a 2-week vacation, and probably won't have time to post at all (though I'll have my computer and phone with, so it's a possibility). See you in a couple of weeks!

Kronug the Merciless |

Haftor will claim the Speak with Dead scrolls. He could also use the Javelin of Lightning, if nobody else wants it.
Haftor doesn't want the headband, and can't use the wand.

Why can't Haftor use the wand? Summon Monster III is on the Cleric list, and wands are not designated as specifically arcane or divine, nor does Haftor need to be of a sufficient level to cast the spell, only have it on his spell list. Summon Monster III has some good options like the Lantern Archon (damage that bypasses all DR).
Kronug can carry the potion of CSW. He can't heal himself, and the rest of you can heal yourselves I think.
The scrolls could be useful with UMD checks; both Seamus and Jarrek have +13. Either one would need a UMD check of 23-27 to emulate the casting of a Druid of the appropriate level, and a separate UMD check of 27-29 to emulate the Wis required. So it could be done more easily by stacking bonuses like Inspire Competence, Eagle's Splendor, Heroism, and (from our new cleric) Bit of Luck.
Kronug has just under 4,000 GP now. No purchases at this time.

DM Carbide |

Lantern archons can be quite effective, especially in large numbers. In the boss fight at the end of Carrion Crown Book 2, my conjuration specialist wizard used summon monster iv to get 1d3 of them, rolled a 3, and with the Superior Summoning feat got 4. We had a bard in the party, and with inspire courage my archons had eight light rays per round, missed the very big enemy on a one, doing d6+2 per attack and ignoring DR. It was impressive.

DM Carbide |

Back from vacation, unpacking, and slowly catching up.

DM Carbide |

Also too, didn't see Seamus' player this year (unlike the last two). So I'm not sure what's up with him. Hope he's OK, though.

DM Carbide |

We'll start with botting him, but if he's not back in a couple of weeks we'll need a replacement.

DM Carbide |

No worries; I have a job interview tomorrow, and don't expect to be able to post until tomorrow night at the earliest.

The Stone Fist |

Rochelle, what role do you plan to play in the party? If it’s the traditional primary healer role of a cleric, that frees me up to do more buffing and front line melee, but I don’t want to make any assumptions on your intentions.

DM Carbide |

Thanks for your patience; this past week has been pretty crowded with work and travel. I should have time to post tomorrow.

DM Carbide |

It's been close to three months since Seamus posted. We're about to get into something of a dungeon crawl, and he's the only one who can disarm traps. I'll leave it to you: do you want to bot him or replace him?

Jarrek Everstand |

I'd do both. Bot him at least until we enter the dungeon and put up a call for a replacement trap springer. If we get a new thief before we hit the first trap then the new person can slot in and we can retcon it that Seamus stayed back in Trunau. If not then Seamus can disable devices for us.

Kronug the Merciless |

I could dip a level into Trapper Ranger at our next level-up.
Taking a full-BAB class other than fighter has a nice perk; lets Kronug take Coordinated Charge for his Greater Tactician feat at Ftr9.
No prize for guessing what I would pick for Favored Enemy.

DM Carbide |

You could really use a full arcane caster of some sort.
I'm leaving Sunday for a three-day business trip, and I probably won't have a lot of time to post.

DM Carbide |

So, continue botting Seamus through the tomb? That should take you to 7th level, where you'll have some options.
