Round 4__________
Celest Slysword_____
She ducks low and stabs with her knife before rolling back. Ends up in E5.
She just manages to hit and score some damage.
Cheshire Silvanshee_____
Cheshire smiles wickedly seeing Flynn's strike doing more damage. He's not useless. Also Variel and the hysterical woman are working in tandem as well. This might be a proper clowder.
Cheshire continues to aid Flynn
Fuzzles continues to scratch at the creature, doing little to no damage.
Lilly Peregrine_____
Lilly grimaces in frustration. Seeing that Celest and Flynn seem to be having better luck with this particular foe, she steps behind Flynn and calls upon a portion of Iomedae's grace, giving him keen insight into their foe.
She casts War Mind on Flynn, for 10 rounds.
Variel Whitestorm_____
Stepping up to where Celest just left Variel brings his rapier down hoping to damage the thing before it has a chance to heal itself too much.
Variel punched his rapier deep into the depths of the metal creature, producing a spark or two, but the creature is still moving about jerkily.
You seem to remember some old droid hunters talking about things like this. They swore by adamantine weapons to penetrate the metallic hide. They also averred that cold and ice weapons would slow any self repair functioning.
Notorious Flynn Ryder_______
"Ummm, my guess is the magic of technology. If it's anything like the last one we slew we just have to keep beating it until it breaks!"
And with Flynn’s deeply penetrating strike, sparks fly, the lights go out on it, it drops to the ground with a clang and slowly toppled over; just missing Cheshire with its heavy bulk.

Celest Slysword |

"Say, do you hear something?"

Variel Whitestorm |

Variel looks around at the broken thing with disgust, In all my log life I have never seen anything close to that save for a golem that was protecting a noble. Still, that was magic, this is...this is something else. I am glad that we are finished with it though. Luckily we were not damaged by it.
Looking at the door on the far side of the room. Shall we proceed onward though to see if our goal is on the other side?

Notorious Flynn Ryder |

"Heh heh heh, well . . . Now that you mention it . . . Yeah. Yeah, I can hear that. That was me kickin some automaton ass! Like---Booooooyaaaaah! With, my rapier I might add and I do."

Cheshire Silvanshee |

Cheshire seems to solely be interested in the automaton. He looks at joints, overall design, what the creature is made from and so on.
knowledge engineering: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
Specifically Cheshire is trying to figure what materials are used in the construction (like the alloy the doorway is made from). If the robot's 'weapons' can be detached or wielded. Anything else that might interest an esoteric engineer.

Variel Whitestorm |

Variel looks at Celest and Flynn strangely, Yes I did hear something but I figured it was coming from this...thing as it died. I have never heard that sound before have you?
As Cheshire seems more interested in the 'thing' than the door Variel will look to Flynn, Any ideas how to open this up so we can find our missing man?
Also should point out that I am now in 2 campaigns with a character named Flynn. I hope not to mix you guys up.

DM-Camris |

Specifically Cheshire is trying to figure what materials are used in the construction (like the alloy the doorway is made from). If the robot's 'weapons' can be detached or wielded. Anything else that might interest an esoteric engineer.
The material seems to be some kind of steel, but it has no taint of rust or discoloration, only the dullness of abrasion and scratches.
It takes some doing, (and some lightning zaps) but Cheshire is able to figure out how to open some access hatches and manages to dismount one of the arm/tools and the tube that spat those nets. But no matter what he does, he cannot make them function.

Lilly Peregrine |

As the group nears the next obstacle in their path, Lilly inspects the grey panel, looking for a level, button, or some other obvious thing that could open the portal in front of them.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17

Cheshire Silvanshee |

Cheshire looks frustrated at the weapon that he was able to pry free. He stashes it in his pack and moves over to the new door. He evaluates the grey panel beside the entrance.
knowledge: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28

Celest Slysword |

Disable Device (Aid other in opening): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Celest kicks the grey panel hard. "There you go Flynn, I've softened it up for you."

Doctor Rhaym |

Doctor Rhaym knelt down and looked at the floor in the corridor.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
"Hm. There must be a way past this door. I'm sure people have been through here."

Cheshire Silvanshee |

"I think this door is not locked down, probably heavy but there are a few of us we could just try to lift it and prop it open."

Cheshire Silvanshee |

Cheshire looks for a good leaver and something to wedge beneath the door.

Lilly Peregrine |

Lilly looks to Flynn first. If the rogue makes no move to stop the others from strong-arming the door open, she moves to help Variel lift the door, calling Iomedae's blessing down to aid her and Variel's efforts.
Str +3, and cast Guidance to add another +1

Notorious Flynn Ryder |

Flynn looks to where the professor has indicated.
Survival: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
"Oh, Yeah, something's been moving through here. So let's get this door open and be ready for someone or something on the other side."
"Here guys let me lend a hand there."
aid with str check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9

DM-Camris |

This next chamber is roughly four times bigger than the last one.
The northern wall of this otherwise empty metal room is a tangle of what look to have once been strange cages of some sort.
Tangled amid the metal ribs of these cages are ribs of a more organic nature—the ancient bones of some sort of alien creature.
Smaller mounds of rubble lie against the opposite wall.
There is another closed circular portal on the East wall, and a smaller more normal rectangular portal stuck mostly open to the South.

Celest Slysword |

Celest kicks the grey panel hard. "There you go Flynn, I've softened it up for you."
"Sorry, don't know my own strength." She beams, and makes like a Chelish doorman.

Lilly Peregrine |

Lilly takes a look around as the group enters the strange chamber.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Seeing the open door to the south, she looks to her companions, "It is likely that the other groups followed or went through the open doors, yes? Shall we continue down that path?"

Variel Whitestorm |

That makes the most sense Lilly. It also keeps a closed door to our back as we explore. Does anyone see any tracks that we could follow?
Looking around the room a bit Variel sees the bones protruding, Any idea what that thing was?
aid perception 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11

Cheshire Silvanshee |

Cheshire nods as he looks around.
perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

Doctor Rhaym |

Doctor Rhaym poked about in the rubble.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Any idea what that thing was?
Rhaym went over to look at the ribcage, holding up his liquid light test tube to see better.
Knowledge:Nature: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26"Well, I can see it had six legs..." He said, reaching out to touch one of the ribs.
It crumbled to dust when he touched the rib.
Wiping his fingers off, he said; "I've never seen anything like this. Ever."

DM-Camris |

Searching through the rubble, you find nothing of value.
From a railing sticking up from the floor and ancient symbology faded on the wall, there might have been a ladder-way leading down. It is packed solid with rubble though and impassable.

Lilly Peregrine |

Lilly nods as she looks through the wreckage in the larger room. "Yes, yes, you can clearly see there have been many hands in this room recently. Hopefully we're close."
Her brow furrows as they enter the smaller room and see an apparent dead end. Furtively, she glances about for another way down, or anything else of interest.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Notorious Flynn Ryder |

"Man, what is this place? Some kinda zoo? Or wizards menagerie? And how the heck are the other people getting in and out without tangling with the automatons?"
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14
Flynn searches the southern room egar to locate traps or find something of value.
"Hey Cheshire, there is writing and stuff in here. What the hell? Boy I don't like the looks of this. See? All the cages are burst from the Inside."

Cheshire Silvanshee |

Cheshire looks to Flynn, "Perhaps they know how to make friends with the automaton or control it."

Notorious Flynn Ryder |

". . . Um. . . Huh."
"Aay. Lily, did we ever, um, just try talking to those things? Or did we just go to ass kicking both times?"
"I doubt you can make friends with a machine, but I suppose you could control it somehow, like a golem, but I'm really just talkin outta my ass right now. I'm no wizard."
"What do you think professor?"

Variel Whitestorm |

Variel lets Flynn and Lilly take a look in the room as he holds his position in the larger main room. It would not do to have the door close on them trapping them inside. This is a strange place Flynn and I am out of my element here. However if we come across something that is moving that is not trying to kill us first then I think we can have the luxury of talking. If it starts swinging I am not gong to hesitate to swing back.

Lilly Peregrine |

Looking back, Lilly quickly realizes they had taken to 'ass kicking' both times, the warpriestess herself with obvious relish against the hated abominations. She speaks reluctantly, "Perhaps we could attempt to parley next time, much good that it will do."

Doctor Rhaym |

Brushing his fingers off, Doctor Rhaym went over to peek through the south door.
"That's 'Doctor'; and no, I have no clue as to how to control a golem, nor what creature that skeleton was." He said acerbically.
Seeing nothing more of interest, he went back to the shut Eastern door.
"I suppose there is no other way out than through here."

DM-Camris |

Gathering together again, you combine efforts to raise the next doorway.
Beyond, you see two strange machines sitting to the north and south against the walls here, their faces appear similar to coils of metal tubes with several nozzle-like protrusions pointing into the room itself.
Beyond, the only other way out of this room is another closed aperture door.

Cheshire Silvanshee |

Cheshire looks at the two machines, looking them over and attempting to learn what he can.
knowledge engineering: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

Cheshire Silvanshee |

Cheshire's eyes flash to the overall design of the room as if something has made him jumpy. Fuzzles notices the change in his companion and lets out a rumble.
knowledge engineering: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
[ooc]The most pressing question that Cheshire wants to know is if the room seems like it could be easily made water tight. (like if a door closed sealing the room).
"I think the nozzle's spray water. Not sure why . . . this place might be trapped. What do you think 'boxman?'"

Lilly Peregrine |

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Lilly takes a look around at the new room casually, glancing over at Flynn at Cheshire's words, waiting for the 'box man' to finish inspecting things before continuing.

Variel Whitestorm |

Variel likewise waits for the all clear signal before moving onwards. As he waits, You are right though. You would think that if others had been down this path, doors would be open, metal monstrosities would be destroyed. It should be easy to find the way forward without any traps in the way.
