Flynn pats himself down and checks to make sure he hasn't lost any extremities. He then checks Lilly top to bottom.

"Man, thank god you weren't killed or disfigured either."

"I think we found our gremlins."

After drinking the potion, Lilly nods her thanks to Doctor Rhaym, but still looks quite the worse for wear. She calls upon the Inheritor to clear more of her wounds, burning through a spell against chaos to power it.

The consensus made, Lilly begins to lead the group out of the maze of tunnels, hoping they don't run into another group of the creatures that captured them earlier on their way out. She had every intention of trying to honor their arrangement, but that didn't mean they knew that.


The skulk leader is clearly unhappy when you explain, but none of them move to block you when you retreat out of the maze of tunnels occupied by the jinxkin.

There is one thing of note you come across as you leave. When you pass through the cavern of the Skulk village, you go by the far end.
A smooth wall of dark gray metal bisects the cavern here, its expanse pitted and scorched but quite solid looking.

But there is no time to explore further.
Continuing back to your submerged entry point, you are surprised to find your underwater breathing potions still active!
Making your way through the submerged passageway, you emerge again into the warm swampy water of the Weeping Pond.


Wet and muddy, you slog up the roadway to where Doctor Rhaym waives at a cluster of buildings.

Doctor Rhaym pointed off to the right.
"That is Doctor Khonnir's Foundry."
He waived off to the left.
"That is the Foundry Tavern."
He waived at a footpath between them.
"Uphill a little is his home. Until we can find him again, there is plenty of room for us all. Val knows me, and she can settle you in, get you something to eat from the tavern and even arrange for laundry."


As you approach to Master Khonnir's place, you all hear a scream of fright. Then there is a strange modulated humming, and the crash of wood being rent apart.

Moving rapidly up the path you come to a startling sight.
You see a strange mechanism; it is 5 feet tall and made of a gray and
white metal-like polymer. Its three spiderlike legs allow it to navigate over broken terrain and rubble with ease. Its torso and arms and head are vaguely humanoid, with one blazing “eye” in the center of its head and a four-fingered hand on each arm. Bits and pieces of its chassis are missing, exposing the delicate circuitry within, and it makes loud and tortured grinding noises as it moves.

It gives a metallic shriek as it pulls another chunk out of the wall.

Seeing that the thing was out of her immediate range, Lilly reaches out and touches Flynn's right shoulder, imbuing him with a tiny sliver of Iomedae's tactical sense. She then moves closer so she can get in range to strike the thing.

Use War Mind on Flynn. At 1st level, you can touch an ally and grant it a tactical advantage for 1 minute. At the start of its turn each round, it can select one of the following bonuses: +10 feet to base land speed, +1 dodge bonus to AC, +1 insight bonus on attack rolls, or a +1 luck bonus on saving throws. Each bonus selected lasts for 1 round.

"---casting a spell on me. Yeap, you cast a spell on me. That's what I was saying. And! And as Elise said, we've got to stop that thing. Before it does . . . Well whatever the heck it is trying to do."

"You left your mug? . . . What?! In that thing?!"

"Ummmm, okay okay, Lilly we can run up together on opposite sides and get a charging flank on it. Sound good?!"
