To fix the golem this is what is needed:

1. The Eye – Artephius even if activated would be blind. Its single glass lens has been shattered. The lens is entirely present however and so could be repaired using the make whole spell. Failing that, a new lens matching the exacting specifications of the schematics could be bought in Farholde. It would cost 1000 gp.

I need a spellcraft DC 20 to recognize the lens fragments among all the junk in the laboratory. If you fail, you can ask one to be created in farhold using the golem schematics and spending 1000gp.

2. The Brain – Artephius needs a new human, dwarven, elven, half-orc or half-elven brain. No other race will do – they are not the right size and attunement. It need not be from a living person. Someone who died in the last twenty four hours from natural causes will do. Of course, murder is always an option. Finding a brain will likely not be a problem. The difficulty is installing it. A successful Craft (Alchemy) skill check (DC 20) is required to install the brain. You get two chances to a make this roll. If both of them fail, the brain has died and a new one must be sought.

3. The Heart Cog – Artephius’ mithral heart cog was stolen long ago, likely by one of the Victor’s retainers. Without this critical component, Artephius will not activate. A new cog will have to be made. Fortunately, the exact shape is described in the schematics. 500 gp worth of mithral will suffice to make the heart cog. A smith in Farholde would do the delicate work for 10% of the mithral’s value (50 gp). Regardless, a Craft (smith) skill check (DC 20) is required.

4. The Reservoir – Artephius needs a new glass reservoir where the four primal reagents can mingle and power the golem. The glass reservoir was smashed during the battle and now the pieces are missing so make whole is of no help. However, there is a spare reservoir amongst the smashed remains of the alchemist’s gear. A craft (alchemy) skill check (DC 20) will identify the reservoir for what it is. Once that is done, installation is a simple matter requiring no skill check. If the you fail to find the reservoir, you could always have a new one made. A glass blower will be able to follow the schematic and reproduce the reservoir for 100 gp.

5. The Reagent of Fire – Artephius needs ten doses of alchemist’s fire.

6. The Reagent of Ice – Artephius needs ten doses of alchemist’s ice (sometimes also called liquid ice).

7. The Reagent of Acid – Artephius needs ten doses of a potent acid. The acid that pools in the lower cavern (C2) has more than enough to do the trick. Or it could be bought in Farholde.

8. The Reagent of Electricity – Artephius needs a large supply of lightning elemental blood.

Was the thing we fought at the top of the horn a lightning elemental? Is it's corpse still up there? (or is it in Seren's workshop?) Is the blood usable?

It's nice to have alchemists around. They save everything. :)

All the rest of that stuff is pretty easy to get. Mostly it's just crafting stuff or buying it. Some of the costs are high, but within our range.

Well, I’m not sure what to do with the character.
I had some things planned, which I'll have to change now.

In any event, I'll keep the character in the game, she’ll still help you guys but more in a background manner.
After the events described in gameplay, I’ll kinda ‘taking two’ levels of the character, which will leave it in the level range to be recruited as cohort, if anyone wishes, also, I’ll dismantle her organization.

Kitara, if not taken as cohort will function like a ‘contact’, you’ll be able to request her help, she might help or not depending on her personal agenda.

I think I don't need to remind you guys that the amount of treasure is meant to help you guys fortify the place, but ultimately, it’s up to you how to expend and use it.

One other thing, the marked in farhold isn’t big enough to accommodate that amount of money at the same time. It can, give or take purchase about 5k gold of your loot per week.
Your contacts with the Baron might, depending on how you plead your cause, purchase another one time 10k gold in items.

keep that in mind when planning how to use the money.

Ok, thoughts on Gear-

Strength Belt: Hound, obviously. If he already has one, then Rose.

Ring of Mind Shielding: Mysty. She has the highest bluff, and is most likely to be infiltrating places where alignment detection might be a problem. Rose is also likely to do those things, but she doesn't need to worry about alignment detection for another 3 levels due to angelskin.

Lens of Detection: Party Item. Mysty should probably carry it. She has a high perception, and if she spots something with it she can probably do something to reveal it to the rest of us.

Acid Rod: Mysty. This will give her another element besides fire to play with. Would have been great got Kit. We might want to give it to her anyway. Not sure.

Hex and Vex's name plates Can Rose have them, pretty please? I'd really like to straighten those two out.

Potions: 3 each to the 4 remaining party members?

Thoughts on Treasure-

I reorganized our treasure page and split things up according to what's personal gear, what's for the lair and what's cash assets.

We have 45,911 gold. I'd like to see it go toward renovating the Horn first. We can split up whatever is leftover.

Priorities/ideas-

1) Restore the golem. This is mostly Nahia/Seren's thing since it's mostly craft checks. Anything they can't do, we have to buy.

2) Undead Workforce. We have 108 skeletons. They're crap as defenders, but great for work. Seren can make about 20 of them, and they can do grunt labor like building walls and digging dirt forever. Then when were done they can be put inside pit traps and un-controlled. This would cost 700 gold.

3) Defenses. Now we have the cash to really start building traps, barricades, walling off areas that might be liabilities, and generally making this place defensible.

4) Holding Cell. I think we should convert the Treasury into a prison. That extradimensional space would be nearly impossible to find or escape from, and it would be impossible to scry or otherwise contact someone stuck in there.

5) Torture Chamber. Let's build our newest minion a play room to keep him happy.

I've been going through the Evil Lair page and adding proposed remodeling.

I really wish I could draw on the map, but I can't so I'm just being overly detailed with my descriptions.

The broad versions of what I'm thinking so far are:

1) Tucker's Boggards. We have them start digging underwater tunnels connecting all the little pools of water throughout the catacombs (adding more pools where possible) We could also use Undead for this if they were commanded to take direction from the boggards. Then we outfit them with better equipment and teach them to ambush. Boggards with combat nets dragging people into the water would be pretty cool.

2) The Killing Hall. We turn all of hallway 1-1 into a killzone. Line the whole thing with arrow slits and murderholes above. Wall off the side corridor to 1-16 to make the kill hall as long as possible. Add a hidden ballista and multi-arrow trap at 1-3 aiming down the hall. Turn most of the surrounding rooms into guard posts and barracks.

Then we could throne-port to the top and take the fun way down as often as we wanted. :D

I'm still not convinced we're ready to do the ritual. When we break that seal, I have a feeling this is going to turn into a game of Dungeon Keeper.

Our dungeon isn't up to snuff yet. We do not want to be trying to defend the Horn and do repairs and recruit at the same time.

Well, if you come up with a good way to create metal poles with 200 and 250 feet, then it might be possible.

It would entail however in a tremendous amount of work and there’s a crucial problem: fireman's pole are supposed to make you go faster from one floor to another, 10~20 feet’s maximum (the drop, not the pole). That way there’s no real risk when dropping into the poles. With that 150ft + drops, things are different and it would entail risks. Looks cool? Yep, I looks badass, but I don’t think it’s practical.

And if you want I can grab a copy of the map image and you can just draw on it in paint or pinta or something. And I was actually thinking that Kitara could spend some time shaping stone to close off some of the side tunnels with thin walls. Perfect for spying and pincer ambushes.

@All, The answer to the firemans pole is simple. A lever changes the stairs into a twisty slide.

Here's Mysty, for example.
