I was in a game once where we ended up capturing and mind controlling an Advanced Wyvern.

It was actually a bit lower level than we were and the GM didn't expect it to survive long as a scout or mount minion.

We didn't do that. Instead we chained it up so it couldn't move or see, put a Ring of Sustenance on it, and proceed to milk it for venom.

Not only did we end up with enough to poison all our weapons pretty much forever, but it also turns out Advance Wyvern Poison is worth a lot of money.

We ended up paying for most of our base construction with Wyvern juice.

I think it would be best that we hand-wave the rebuilding and get to the ritual, we are drowning in the sandbox and stuff has slowed to a crawl.
I think that some basic stuff should be set up. Workshops fixed, traps set, guards posted, rooms fixed. Then we do the ritual an wait for the inevitable good adventurers tot ry to stop us.

A montage of sorts works for me.

Mostly it's a matter or tracking labor time and material costs. Generally I'm not a fan of dealing with that stuff in game. I prefer to hand wave anything that isn't direct character wealth and focus on how the construction and work effects the narrative.

Get workmen in to fix doors, barracks, workshops, dig a pit trap in the boggard lair. Some 'ethically challenged' 1st level warriors to keep eye on the stairs that have the arrow slits and waist high walls. Food and other sundries of course.

The prison needs new locks and bars

Fix the big pit trap on the different levels, get the bogards to capture creatures to put in rooms, create undead for the same and set up a watch/alarm system.

Fill one pit with acid, another with poisoned spikes. Rig scythe and arrow traps, poisoned of course. Can we find brown mold? Filling a pit with that is awesome.

Oh and torture equipment. We may need that.

Also repair the golem, and summon the nightmare and hellhounds. BTW Mysty would like a pet hellhound.

Use the lads and lassies from the orphanage to gather (steal) funds, act as guards and watchers, and for basic labour.

With the undead we raise, if possible raise and base them in a desecrate zone. With an alter to Asmodeus, if we can.

I'll look at the map for trap/creature location idea.

The lightning fried everything. They even had to rerun the lines. There were apparently two lightning strikes on our street. Not my house though, thankfully.

As far as repairing the traps, just tell me how many charges to take off of our half-wand of make whole.

I actually have a really interesting idea surrounding this concept-

We know we are going to do some montage posts. We also know we are going to do some story scenes. I think we could do some neat stuff with this format. it would look something like-

Montage posts
Summon Hellhounds scene
Montage posts
Summon a Nightmare scene
Montage posts
Raise an alter to Asmodeus
Montage posts
Repair Golem
Montage Posts
Recruit Monsters

etc.

So basically between each story scene, we each do a post filling in the downtime

here's the kicker-

What do you think of focusing our montage posts on another party member?

On the first montage, Nahia might post her version/description of what Mysty did. Then during the second one she might post about Kitara.

We just round-robin through the party, focusing on a new person at each montage.

Any small behavioral discrepancies between how we might describe our characters actions and how other characters describe them can be chalked up to perception issues with the characters or as errors in the "recorded history of events"

Rose's goals for the first Montage is to sort out the logistical stuff I listed earlier.

Set up a barracks/sleeping area for the workers.

Set up a kitchen.

Set up a fully functioning workshop.

She's essentially taking on the role of Labor Foreman for the repairs and renovations. (Only for the Horn proper though. The Boggard lair and catacombs are Hound's to deal with).

I do have a question though. Kitara for whatever reason right now is not officially part of the knot. As such, there are probably going to be things she is doing that are not with the group. How do you propose to add her into a Montage that another player writes when that character won't be present to see anything taking place?

Sounds good to me Rose! And trust me Kitara, we do plenty of things that don't have anything to do with the mission.

For the first montage Nahia will be using the wand of Make Whole to repair the traps, using a LOT of mending to just kind of fix the place, along with unseen servant to help clean up. Also, working on some of the alchemical stuff for the golem (the various acid/fire/ice flasks) and scribing some scrolls in her down time.

Either way works for me. Some players have issues with other players having any kind of creative control over their characters, so I usually err on the side of caution, but personally I don't mind.

I guess we should just ask what way the group wants to do it.

Just wanted to let you know I am still here. Major exhaustion setting in right now from work. We are fighting to keep the doors open, and except for a couple planned things over the weekend, i was basically comatose.
