Ok, for anyone asking Nahia to craft things, don't forget about it being 60% of sale price, not 50%. Also, if I get enough spare cash from all of you, I'll pick up some more status removal type spells and make some scrolls of them. That's right, YOUR tax dollars at work here. : )

Also, if you want something out of the other books, and need inspiration, if worse comes to worse, ask DM Aku to roll and see if it shows up randomly, and then talk to Nahia about making something like it. If you're really lucky, it might work.

- - - - -

For party spending suggestions, don't forget that DM Aku has approved half charged wands.

I'm already going to suggest a full wand of CLW and Infernal Healing.

Some money for enlarge person potions (which I'll craft, of course) might be a good idea.

Also, for some weapon blanch materials (which I'll make).

I don't think he needs to breathe, so grab a handy haversack and just let him fly in and out. He should take up volume, but not weight. Also, the image of you unsheathing your weapon as a ball of crying/enraged black energy rises from nowhere behind you is kind of awesome.

And I always thought they were smaller than that too.

I've always thought Lantern Archons were kind of oddly stated up. Their description and their abilities seem at odds with each other.

They are described as glowing but aren't described as having a light radius or any abilities that make them give off light. They can't even cast Light as a spell. They can cast Continual Flame, but that's a spell that only targets objects, not living creatures. So they can't make themselves glow, but they can make everything they touch glow forever.

They seem like they shouldn't need to breathe or eat, but those abilities aren't listed, and they aren't part of the Celestial or Archon package, so apparently they do breathe and they do eat. How and what they eat isn't described anywhere.

The official artwork shows them as a glowing ball of light (another shows them as a weird metal framework with a glowing ball of light in it), but they are apparently solid (they don't have any sort of intangibility). That means they have weight, but how much isn't described anywhere. All we have to go on is that they are Small creatures, which gives them a rough size of 2-3 feet. About the size of a halfling. Who knows what their actual mass is.

They don't have ears, eyes, or a mouth of any sort, but they don't have blindsight, tremorsense or telepathy and aren't described as being hindered by any lack of senses, so apparently they can still see, hear and speak just fine.

They aren't immune to sleep, and aren't described as something that doesn't sleep, so they must do that too. Nothing with a fly speed can actually maintain flight while sleeping (that would require a levitation effect) so they must have to "land" to rest. I hope they aren't prone to sleep-rolling.

Basically, they operate according to all the usual expectations of a living creature in spite of having none of the physiology that makes that make sense.

I guess it can be explained away as Psh, whatever. Angels don't have to make sense, but they are the only angel in the game that has these issues.

It's something that's always struck me as odd, but this is the first time its really been relevant in a game I've been in.

Most of these things aren't really important, but they're still fun to discuss.

Wow. Go to sleep and 28 posts!

Hound most certainly is lacking in people skills, lol.

Okay Here are some things Hound would like

Muleback cords added to his Cloak of Resistance+1(Same slot)

Masterwork Lucerne Hammer (315 gp)

I think research should be done on the nature of Daemons. We were told the cult were daemon worshipers so finding out their resistances/vulnerabilities would be good for determining what weapons Hound wants to get.

Agreed. Specifically, we should look into what this demon lord's portfolio is. That might give us an idea of the kinds of servants it has and what tactics they are prone to.

It takes some digging, and is in odd places, but there are some statements about these things.

PRD - Creature Types - Outsider wrote:

PRD - Lantern Archon flavor text wrote:
Their bodies, however, are merely globes of spiritual purity and pale light, and though they might interact with their surroundings through pure force of will, such interaction proves too weak to help with most physical tasks.
PRD - Lantern Archon flavor text wrote:
A lantern archon always glows, usually as bright as a torch. They have total control over the color of light they shed, and take great pleasure in modulating their colors and brightness in time to music or to entertain other creatures. Most lantern archons speak in airy, echoing voices, with tones that range from somber whispers to hurried chirping. Often, their light fluctuates along with their words or tones, punctuating their speech with sparks of light or gentle pulses. As a swift action, a lantern archon can dampen its light to that of a candle for 1 round. Only death can extinguish this light. As lantern archons never sleep or eat, they make excellent watchers and guardians.

So no, they don't have any abilities listed as an intangibility, but I always kind of figured them closer to the nature of 'water elementals', in the fact that they are more like balls of liquid light. You can try to run your fingers through it, and it might make some way, but the form really wants to have cohesion and seems really dense.

The breathing thing is pretty odd though.

Just my 2 cp.

About the current game time, it's something like this:

The Seventh arrived the day was ending. chat up,

You move to buy stuffs, while Hound go talk with the ppl in the taverns, using the fact they are just returning from work. Gather information takes some time, a couple of hours.

It think it's more fitting, having the info hunting for the next day, what do you guys think?

Thanks for the information on lantern archons. The pfsrd entry doesn't have most of that.

From that I can deduce that Pyre-

Does not eat or sleep (makes sense)

Breathes (apparently through integumentary exchange or diffusion, which is awesome)

Is solid (or possibly liquid), but probably does not weigh anything (very minimal ability to exert force on things and described as being made of "spiritual purity and pale light.")

For my purposes I'm picturing Lantern Archons, and Pyre specifically as being made up of something like a combination of a Ferrofluid sphere (skip tot he 2:00 mark) and a this sound-display program (you might want to mute the terrible song). EDIT: Oh, this one is good too!

I find all this celestial physiology stuff really interesting. :)

To be fair, I don't think it is meta-gaming to think that something described as a 'tree' would be flammable. If it had been described as a 'nature spirit of the forest', I would have called it more of a long shot guess than anything as well, but it was described as a 'living tree'. I think common sense says you should bring fire and an axe.

Please check for me what's being created, forged, and enchanted.

Don’t forget that when accounting for time spent, you use the item actual price and not the creating value to determine how much time you need to create it.

After that, it seems you’ll be in town for some weeks, while everything is done. In that time, please describe to me what you’ll be expending time with.
Don’t forget that there are a lot of other places to explore in the city, and you don’t need just to keep at the manor, and gathering information.

See this is interesting. For example, I'd love to seek out other witches/warlocks/adepts (they're mainly who I'd fill my 'follower' ranks with for the Leadership feat). But our practices seem to be illegal here in Talingrad. So for Nahia, she would see something like this is bringing too much risk to the group, since we seem to rely on secrecy a lot.

Then again, the pact also says that we should strive to make ourselves powerful. So I'm kind of conflicted when it comes to this.

I'm choreographing/acting in a production of Macbeth. We open on Thursday. We still don't have all our costumes and props. (costumers are the bane of my existence. I don't know why they all suck, but they all suck)

Simultaneously, a coworker was in a car accident so I've gone from working four nights a week, to working all nights a week.

Today I went from straight rehearsal to work at midnight. I get off at 8am. I have to be back at the theatre at 2pm to mix a few gallons of fake blood and fix a weapon that broke in rehearsal. Our final dress rehearsal starts at 6. Then back to work at midnight. Then opening night. Then work. Rinse, repeat through the weekend.

I get a break on Monday.

I don't think I'd want to eat Seren. Her meat is starting to turn...

I'm back!

I'm also brain dead. I don't remember what Hound, Mysty and I had planned to pass the time while the crafting happened. Can someone remind me?

It was a blast! Opening night got a standing ovation. The second night had a few moments that I will tell stories about for years.

Here's the highlights-

That G@~#&#n Knife:

At the top of the show, Macbeth and Banquo fight off a horde of irish invaders.

In most shows it is merely part of the opening dialogue. In our version we decided to show the fight. The curtain opens on Macbeth and Banquo facing off against pretty much everyone in the cast who isn't in the next scene.

Early in the brawl Macbeth loses his sword in a struggle and Banquo passes him a knife. Macbeth then proceeds to use that knife to kill four of the six people they are facing. The knife is pretty damn important.

The second night our Banquo forgot the knife.

So, instead of passing Macbeth the knife, Banquo reaches behind Macbeth with his spear and gently sticks a rather confused irish fellow, who politely dies. Macbeth gives Banquo a withering look, but the show must go on and the next two actors are rushing in, not realizing there is a problem.

Macbeth goes through his motions, ending up in the position in which he is supposed to finish off his partner with the knife he does not have, and instead reaches up and fakes a neck break.

Enter me and the last other Irish invader.

We go through our motions, and my mind is racing trying to figure out how the hell we are going to get the last two kills off without the knife. The first two kills had a bit of time and a lot of other stuff happening on stage to cover the confusion and improvisation. The last two do not.

Then, at the second to last blow before I'm supposed to be killed, my axe breaks on Banquo's shield.

The axe head explodes clean off and flies over my shoulder landing somewhere behind me. After a shocked moment to look at the break I push on, attacking Macbeth with the broken axe haft, maintaining the choreography. Instead of blocking with his shield as normal, Macbeth half-crouched and scooped up the broken axe head, which he then used to deliver the death blow.

The last kill of the fight was supposed to be Macbeth stabbing the person who was grappling on the ground with Banquo. Macbeth picked up one of the "dead" actors' swords and used that instead.

So, to recap- Our Macbeth managed to use a prop unexpectedly breaking on stage to cover the fact that another prop was missing. in the middle of a fight.

I've never seen anything like that in my life. After the show I actually has a few people ask me how we managed to choreograph the axe breaking.

That One Time I Dropped The Set On Another Actor:

At the end of the show the forces allied against Macbeth attack his castle. The big climactic ending starts with Macbeth killing Young Seward. I play Young Seward.

The scene opens with me and another actor rushing down the isles and onto the stage to face off against Macbeth and his servant Seaton. While Macbeth is killing off my partner, I'm killing Seaton.

The fight is pretty simple. basically there's a couple quick cuts and blocks, then I get the haft of my axe behind Seaton's neck and start driving him back with knees to the gut. Then I throw him behind a rock (which is one of the wings of the set) and slam my axe into it. It looks like I'm hitting him, but the kill happens out of the audience's view. In reality he's actually just ducking and then falling so his legs are still visible on stage. Then I bring the axe into the ground to "finish him off"

There happened to be a bunch of stuff piled against the back side of the set. Plywood boards, some two by fours scraps from set construction, stuff like that. It should not have been there, but our stage manager was really sick and missed it in her pre-show checks.

So I hit the pile when i swung my axe into the back of the set, and the whole thing came falling down onto the guy I'd just "killed." Some of it even ended up on stage. Because of the lighting the scraps looked the same as the rest of the set, so it looked like I killed him by knocking the wall down on him. The audience loved it.

The actor I buried is a body builder and a former Army Ranger. He thought it was hilarious.

Wow, sounded really fun.

I went last year to see a company perform Hamlet.

The theater was huge, and I had second roll seats! I was really, really excited to see it, it would be my first Shakespeare play.

Then, my grilfriend invited another couple,. Cool, still good.

However, there was no more seats near ours; in fact, there was no seat at all near the first rows. Therefore, we had to give up on our seats to pick up ones almost at the end of the theater.

In the end, I was not able to ‘see’ the play, only hear, since the theater, being huge as it was, made the actors seems to be really far away. I was not even able to tell when they were laughing or crying.
In my defense, I must say that I don't need glasses to see. :(

But it was fun and I really liked it, I was expecting a bit more since I had just watched a movie based on Shakespeare history "Anonymous" and I really wanted to see a play such one as they do in the movie, and the 'construction' of the scenery consisted basically of colored curtains and lights.

Sounds awesome! I wish i could have seen it. It's been a while since I've seen anything truly Shakespearean. Which is honestly a shame, but all the local theaters want to be more 'modern', which is fine, but some more choices would be good too.

Anyway, glad to hear you had a blast!

@Aku

Sorry to hear that. I've been in a couple of plays where that was definitely an issue. As far as sitting with friends, the way I've always seen it is that you aren't going to talk to them during the play anyway. So meet up afterwards and discuss it.

Precisely what I think.

Now, try explaining that to your girlfriend.
