OK, the website seems a bit more stable, and people seem to be able to post in the discussion threads, which is encouraging. Like most of you, I'm not keen to move from Paizo as it has considerable advantages (when it works). Since it seems to be working again, let's stick with it but keep an eye out. If it becomes intolerable again, we can consider our options.

Hey sorry I had a rough month there. Every day snowball effect going on.
Will update now.

Psionics continue to impress and baffle me. What just hit the gambling hall? It seems incredibly powerful, yet the save is pretty doable.
Hit the home team as well.
I suspect it was the Inspired monolith being activated; probably prematurely, since as you stated that the save wasn't that strong.

Sorry for being a bit lame and late with the combat maps. I've been a bit tired lately and while I've kept the other games going, in which most of you also participate, it's always a bit of a bigger piece of work to do the maps (and NPCs where appropriate). Sorry - soon, I promise.

I can 100% relate.

Quick question, Aubrey. How long does the Silver Smite feat last?
Silver Smite [General]
Prerequisite: Smite evil class ability, follower of the Church of the Silver Flame.
Benefit: When you use your smite evil ability, you deal an extra 1d6 points of sacred damage to the target of your smite. While this appears as wreathing the weapon in silvery fire, this does not actually burn the opponent.
In 3.5e, smite evil was only good for one attack which meant Silver Smite was only good for that attack as well.
In PF, smite evil lasts until the target is dead. Does that mean Silver Smite continues as well?

I have come to a reluctant decision. You will have noted that I am really struggling to post in these games at the moment. I'm not suffering some sort of existetial crisis, I just don't seem to have the time. I used to post a lot at work but that has become quite unconducive these days, and at home I can't just disappear into my garrett and post when I come home in the evening as I have family responsibilities, plus I'm tired. It's not fair on you guys to keep you hanging around, and it's not good for the game either as enthusiasm wanes and we find other stuff to do.
So I am afraid I'm calling time on my games here at Paizo. I just can't run them anymore. This is a painful decision because I have a group of really outstanding players with whom I have shared the strange thoughts that lurking my mind (and not been run out of town for it... again) and who have also contributed mightily to the games, shaping them in ways I never considered, surprising me and making them much the better for it. It's tough because some of us have invested years. But I guess life moves on.
So I thank you all, players past and present. It's been a real blast.

Oh, how I have dreaded this day. I have often in the the last few years considered bowing out because I was afraid I wasn’t holding to the high standards I felt your quality games deserved, but could never bring myself to do it.
I have always admired your flexibility with regards to your players’ crazy ideas (dive-bombing warforged comes to mind) but even more the depth and detail of the world you created and invited us to enjoy.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. May you find the balance of work, life, (and gaming) that brings you joy. And may we meet again.

I understand completely, I've been holding on by my fingernails these days posting on the Boards.
Best of luck Aubrey, I think I speak for all of us that if you ever change your mind, we'd be happy to pick up where we left off :-)

Thank you, guys - I really appreciate the kind thoughts. It's a real frustration for me as I have stories I wanted to tell. However, what I will do is post what 'probably' would have happened in the game, so at least the outline of what was intended can be appreciated.
And I'm sure I will lurk around, and I may dip my toe in the water again, maybe not with something so epic (I would want to finish before I die of old age) but perhaps some smaller scenarios or ideas. And if I do, you will be the first to know.
And AG, I'm sure I speak for the others too when I say that I have always appreciated your contribution. I'm very glad you didn't drop out, and you will always be welcome at my gaming table, virtual or otherwise.

Aubrey, I've enjoyed reading your threads for years, and it was a real privilege to join, recently. I hope to see you on the boards, and You'd be among the very first I'd invite to any game I'd start.
You can't see it, but I just went up to my attic, drew my longsword, and saluted in the vague direction of the UK. Ignore the part where I accidentally stabbed my insulation, please.
Thanks again!

OOF.
Of all the games I have had die, yours would have been the last i expected. However, I can't blame you. I also haven't had the time, and I feel it has hit the quality of my posting far worse than yours has suffered. Yours was the first game I joined, the one that got me into the PbP scene, and the one I was most excited to check up on.
Please keep my email (all of you): basstreble3@gmail.com and on discord you can find me as tenro#4566. Look me up if you just wanna chat about games or RPG stuff.

Anyone feel like reminiscing a little before this thread tapers out?
Aubrey, you remember way way back when there was no dice roller so we all rolled at home and the maps were verbal descriptions that we all mapped out separately at home on our graph paper? That seems crazy now. Back in Athens, in our apartment I have an entire notebook/pad of graph paper filled from front to back with all of the maps from early years of this game. I came across it when moving and really enjoyed flipping back through all those memories of scenes some of which stretch over two pages.
Out of all the crazy scenes over these years the one that I wander back to when reminiscing is that fight with Karile in the foundry with the catwalks, conveyor belt, magma pool, endless warforged and eventually a warforged titan. I think it was the fact that that fight was fully three dimensional in a way I had never encountered in a game with very unconventional terrain. The tension level was sky high, there were A LOT of warforged, I wasn't entirely sure if Ezreal was going to survive the buzzsaw machinery on that conveyor belt or have it drop him in the lava... and then the titan appeared! And then there was (I think) our first long term recurring villain in Karile. The game had already been amazing, but that scene took it to a new level for me.
Cheers Aubrey. It was amazing and we had a lot of good times here over the years.

Truly the end of an era. Though I parted ways with the Paizo community several years ago due to a combination of factors, these campaigns remained one of the shining lights in my memories of this place.
I am going to have to dig through at some point and see what all developed after Runzyl's departure... his storyline was one of the things that kept me coming back here even after my interest in the rest of the content here waned. Eventually, though, my personal life took over and I no longer had the ability to post as often (much as Aubrey is encountering now).
Still, thank you Aubrey and everyone, really, for perhaps the most memorable campaign I've ever been a part of. Cheers!

Omg, I feel like I'm the little guy in ther presence of titans. Heathy, Ithers, and Fatespinner checked in!
I may not have been in the game long but I was reading along for a long while before an opening appeared. It was that same scene in the foundry that made me start dreaming of making a character to fight the quori. When you finally defeat the big bad but it just sheds the human shell and disappears into the ether. Aubrey, through the campaign you always had unique and dynamic combats from the infamous warforged dive bomb to the zombie dragon on the airship. Thank you all for creating a wonderful story even for the spectators.
Ps. Aubrey, if you ever feel like continuing the tale, I'll forget what I read in the synopsis to keep going because that sounds like an epic adventure.

Thanks guys (and really nice to see Ithers, Fatey and Heathy - it feels a bit like a school reunion!). This game has probably been the most significant in my life - certainly it was the longest (though my real-life 4e campaign from lvls 1 to 30 was pretty long too, about five years - wow, were we burned out by the end) and I've been extremely privileged to have such a great crew of players. In many ways I just set the scene and let you guys do your thing. I read back through the games from time to time and find them really enjoyable, and memories come back which had otherwise fled. So I salute you all. And hopefully it's not 'goodbye' but 'au revoir'.

Aw, I just heard the news. Best of luck, everyone. This game has always been a fantastic testament to what a Play-By-Post can be if everyone just sticks with it, and the stories it gave way to inspired my own games and own stories. I'll have to catch up on it sometime, and maybe reread it. In one game I ran, I had four half-orc mercenaries named after the ABCD siblings. I'm currently implementing the "pulpy reimagining of the story-so-far" gag in an Eberron game of my own. The characters and stories of this PbP are honestly just fantastic and represent a pretty good chunk of what D&D is for, and I really appreciated the chance to watch it develop.
It will probably hold the record of "longest-running PbP" for a long, long time.
