Hajar brandishes Tempest and states
We must end this creature. Let us see to collecting any useful things here and continue.

Hajar nar Jundi |

You nailed the last one with your awesome SA rolls

Al-Akim Naziri |

"My friends, I am forever in your debt. I need only a moment to regain my wind and I will be ready."
Al-Akim sits himself against a wall while the group looks for any items of use. After a few moments of labored, heavy breathing, the Ranger jumps up and looks at Hajar. "I am ready friend..."

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

When you are ready to head to the next chamber.
You open the door and find that this chamber stands in stark contrast to the craftsmanship of worked stone of the rest of the crypt—instead, here looms a vast cavern. The air is damp and cold, and moist, writhing roots hang down from the ceiling twenty feet above. Puddles of reeking fluid dot the floor, and at the far end a jagged upthrust lance of stone rises from the ground to form a steeply-sloped platform.
Standing upon the upthrust stone shelf is a towering muscular man wielding an immense axe—, Kardswann. Kardswann chuckles with a dry, inhuman laughter and speaks with a croaking rasp that sounds nothing like what the genie sounded like before.
Many years have I languished in this foul place, trapped here by the wards placed by your Pactmasters. Endless decades have I endured the whispering spirits of the wholesome dead, cursing my captors, hating the world I could no longer corrupt. When the Templar came eight weeks past he walked through the walls. The red-men’s seal remained intact. But you, you
have broken the seal, and my long captivity is finally at an end. But before I go, I will kill you one by one until the last of you willingly allows himself to be my slave. The genie rises from his throne. Which one of you, I wonder, shall that be?

Hajar nar Jundi |

Detect Evil.
Xulthos! Show yourself now and face Sarenrae's justice! Kardswann is defeated so put away your child's tricks
If its possible and Xulthos shows himself Hajar will cast Challenge Evil and use Smite Evil as soon as possible, which gives Hajar a total +6 to hit, +10 damage and +5 AC (23) vs Xulthos.

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Xulthos Drops his Illusion and you see the true insect creature he truly is.
Thin glossy insect wings beat rapidly and send Xulthos into the air. The sound of the wings penetrates into your brain and threatens to steal your focus.
Everyone make a DC 18 Will save to avoid confusion from the droning of his wings.
Confused: A confused creature is mentally befuddled
and cannot act normally. A confused creature cannot tell
the difference between ally and foe, treating all creatures
as enemies. Allies wishing to cast a beneficial spell that
requires a touch on a confused creature must succeed on
a melee touch attack. If a confused creature is attacked, it
attacks the creature that last attacked it until that creature
is dead or out of sight.
Roll on the following table at the beginning of each
confused subject’s turn each round to see what the subject
does in that round.
d% Behavior
01–25 Act normally.
26–50 Do nothing but babble incoherently.
51–75 Deal 1d8 points of damage + Str modifier to self
with item in hand.
76–100 Attack nearest creature (for this purpose, a
familiar counts as part of the subject’s self ).
A confused creature who can’t carry out the indicated
action does nothing but babble incoherently. Attackers
are not at any special advantage when attacking
a
confused
creature. Any confused creature who is attacked
automatically
attacks its attackers on its next turn, as
long as it is still confused when its turn comes. Note that
a confused creature will not make attacks of opportunity
against anything that it is not already devoted to attacking
(either
because of its most recent action or because it has
just been attacked).

Hajar nar Jundi |

Will: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
Th noise beats at Hajar's mind but his focus on Sarenrae's fiery countenance holds true.
You will not best me foul creature!
Hajar begins to chant and holds his holy symbol in one hand as he challenges the daemon to mortal combat!
Fluff to cover the casting of Challenge Evil and usage of Smite Evil; Damn, I'll cast Prot. from Evil on Grim next round to give him another save at +2

Al-Akim Naziri |

will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Al-Akim steels his mind against the dangerous thrumming of Xulthos' wings.
"You stand small in the face of the dawnflower Xulthos! Prepare to be redeemed!"
The Ranger draws his bow and knocks his first arrow letting it fly towards the insect-creature, followed almost immediately by a second.
attack1: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
attack2: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
damage1: 1d8 ⇒ 8
damage2: 1d8 ⇒ 2

Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 For Raj
Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 For Nemaides
Chance Raj: 1d100 ⇒ 74
Chance Nemaides: 1d100 ⇒ 66
CHARGE! Yells Nemaides, who flies of from Raj's shoulder... straight into a wall...
Damage: 1d8 - 4 ⇒ (5) - 4 = 1 <- is that die smaller because Nemaides is tiny? EDIT: guess it doesn't matter anyway...
Raj grimaces as his body unwillingly turns away from the deafening noise. He was reminded of the experiment one of the divination students had pulled in which he enchanted a small button to beep at the most annoying pitch possible and sewed it onto the back of the collar of one of the other students. The results had been hilarious, but Raj found that he had a new appreciation for the victim's displeasure.
He tries pointing his staff at Xulthos to cast a spell, but some how manages to whack himself in the face with it instead.
Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Blinking the black eye he gave himself, Raj's mind scrambles to figure out how to overcome the terrible noise...
Unless skill checks aren't allowed when you're confused, it's a little vague there.
Knowledge Planes: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Ooooh, can we have Gunk detonate a thunder stone in our faces? Better deaf than this, I've got an awesome concentration bonus...

Hajar nar Jundi |

Naziri, we have access to +4 str Composite Longbows. So you now have +1 to hit from mwk composite longbow and +whateverstrbonus damage.

Hajar nar Jundi |

Ahh yes, forgot about that rule completely, you are correct sir. This might change Hajar's tactics in round 2 dramatically.

Al-Akim Naziri |

Indeed, I had already considered that very thing Hajar/Raj. I am one STR point away from being able to fully utilize those bows. I have been waiting for a Composite longbow!

Hajar nar Jundi |

Gunk: Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 Random: 1d100 ⇒ 22
Gunk seems uneffected and launches an acid bomb at Xulthos!
Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8 Gunk hurls a bomb at Xulthos but the bomb falls short??? Random: 1d8 ⇒ 2
Not sure of the range here but if outside of 20' subtract -2 for each 10' out. Also, Gunk never leveled to 4 so I decided he wanted the Acid Bomb discovery...

![]() |

Raj Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Nemaides Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Wahoo! I'm not sticking around for this! Yells Nemaides who charges for the other side of the room. Maybe he can find something useful there...
Raj Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 84
You little snapperwhipper! I'll teach you to drag mud through the kitchen! Squeals Raj in a pinched voice, aiming a shot with his staff at Hajar's rear as if he were spanking him.
Staff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 +2 Flank
Damage to Hajar: 1d6 ⇒ 3
The blow, while certainly noticeable, does nothing more than rattle Hajar's armor and Raj's arms, who stares off blankly at the back of Hajar's head, presumably in horror that he just tried to give the paladin a spanking.
Sorry guys! Wisdom was my dump stat, and I'm paying for it!

Hajar nar Jundi |

Hajar takes the Daemon's strike and shouts in his now familiar battle voice!
إلى الهاوية معك شيطان
Hajar's body erupts in flames as he screams his warcry at the foul beast!
Tempest: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23 Slashing Smiting Powerattacking Firey: 2d4 + 21 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 21 + (6) = 31
LoH: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 2) = 7

Hajar nar Jundi |

Gunk: Will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12Random: 1d100 ⇒ 77
Gunk pulls out his knife and attacks Naziri Stabbity: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7but misses!

Grim The Wanderer |

Round 2
Confusion: 1d100 ⇒ 22
Grim's will overcoming the confusion allows him to take measure of the combat.
i won't have access to the battle map until tonight so please adjust according DM
If a move is required to be in melee (flanking)
Dagger 1: 1d20 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 9 + 2 = 271d4 + 1 + 2d8 ⇒ (2) + 1 + (4, 1) = 8 add -2 if TWF
if he can just 5ft step
Dagger 2: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 7 + 2 = 271d4 + 1 + 2d8 ⇒ (2) + 1 + (7, 8) = 18
Current AC 21

Hajar nar Jundi |

Grim roll some acrobatics because your gonna provoke if not. Actually nvm, with the new flanking rules a 5' step should do the trick!

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Hajar hurt him the most and he challenged him so Xulthos Bites Hajar.
Bite Hajar: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
Tail Hajar: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
Claw Hajar: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Claw Hajar: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (1) + 13 = 14
I don't want to hear how this fight was too easy. 4 rolls and not a single one over 7! Come on!
Naziri has an attack up but lets go into round 3.

Hajar nar Jundi |

Hajar shouts again and attacks!
Tempest: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (5) + 15 = 20 Damage: 2d4 + 21 ⇒ (3, 4) + 21 = 28
LoH: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6
1 use left of LoH

Hajar nar Jundi |

Gunk: Random: 1d100 ⇒ 40
Gunk babbles incoherently !!!!

![]() |

Over the sounds of the battle, a hoarse voice floats from the back of the room. There, on the pedestal Xulthos previously occupied, stands Nemaides, wings spread, and belting out the bawdiest bar song in his repertoire. He hops back and forth in some perverse one legged dance, but eventually, thankfully, topples out of sight and falls silent.
Raj grits his teeth and carefully retrieves a small item. Enough of this. He swings his staff in a wide arc and plants it in the ground... splashing mud up...
Raj speaks in a very deep, slow voice that seems to resonate off the pillars of the cavern.
"Geist der Erde, Binden der Daemon. Stoppen Sie Ihre Ohren mit Schlamm"
From behind Xulthos, the earth seems to begin to boil, bubbles of mud slopping and popping, though the sound is drowned out by the Daemon. A familiar glowing disk appears, though this time it is mostly obscured by mud.
You'll be swallowed up by the earth yet, Xulthos.
Rules questions in discussion thread!

Hajar nar Jundi |

Super awesome description Raj! I was even hearing what I thought Terran sounded like in that last post!

Al-Akim Naziri |

Naziri grimaces through the lingering noise of the Xulthos's flapping wings. In a swift and graceful movement the ranger drops his bow, and draws his ancestral falchion. With grim determination, he lashes out at the vile creature!
power attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
damage: 2d4 + 10 ⇒ (4, 1) + 10 = 15
Al-Akims blow strikes true, and bites through the outer carapace and into the meaty flesh below.

Hajar nar Jundi |

I took the liberty of 5' stepping Naziri to be in a flanking position with Grim. Also, Grim are you gonna roll attacks?
