Raj Ajir |
The point of the test was to see if anyone would fake touching the card out of fear that it would reveal them as guilty. Because the card was covered in soot, anyone who only pretended to touch the card would have clean hands, unsoiled by the soot. So did anyone have clean hands when checked on a moment later?
Leyli Wildspeaker |
"If these animals or creatures took your goat, I'm afraid that you may not be able to see your goat again."
----------------------
Upon reaching the camp,
"If everybody was sure in there innocence, then maybe they were being controlled when they did it?", Leyli turns to Dashki, "Tell us what you know of these pugwampi. Do you think they will cause this?"
Hajar nar Jundi |
Not sure of the versimilitude of this statement but I think that the entire Dashki encounter including his leaving occured while you guys were tracking/scouring the camp. Dashki isn't near the 3 of us, he would be somewhere near to us and you wouldn't know about a pugwampi. Similarly, neither Hamzah, Hajar nor Raj know anything about the tracks or goat.
Leyli Wildspeaker |
I see, I thought I would've made it to camp by then.
"So how did the interrogation worked?"
GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Good call I missed that myself!
Nemaides |
If it makes any difference, I'm pretty sure I saw something getting dragged off to the Northwest, meanwhile this Dashki guy had just got cooked.
The raven appeared to have been eavesdropping for a while, though only just now landing on Raj's shoulder.
Probably a Gnoll, if you ask me.
Hajar nar Jundi |
Assuming we are now all together in one place. Dave it is still dark I am assuming?
Most esteemed companions, let us continue discussing our efforts to bring this viscous arsonist to the justice and mercy of the light. I understand that my most keen eyed friend Leyli found tracks? Please tell me of these.
Assuming that someone answers my question
This indeed is interesting good friend. The man Dashki reported that a "Pugwampi" was the culprit. I confess that I know nothing of the creature, except that it is small and somehow worships gnolls. We will follow the tracks at first light yes?
GM: Dave the Dwarf |
Yes it is still night.
Almah:
"No this will be finished this night. If my expert is correct, the hills around here should be crawling with these pugwampis, or at least some sign of their passage. If what Dashki says is true, it should be easy for him to find one and bring it back to me. As he is, however, our best suspect in this affair, it would not do to send him out into the darkness alone. I’m afraid that you seven must accompany him and bring me back one of these creatures. If you can not find one of these creatures then that will prove Dashki is guilty. Hurry now before the trail goes cold." You are soon realising that this woman is all business.
Leyli Wildspeaker |
I'm guessing we are all here.
Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
"I saw tiny tracks leading to the hills towards the northwest, hurry we may still be able to catch them off guard. They might be eating now since they dragged a goat too."
Raj Ajir |
Raj pulls out a shiny golden object and speaks a command word, and it begins to glow brightly with a yellow light reminiscent of a large campfire.. I can actually see in the dark, but for those who cannot I can provide light if so desired. Leyli's, how's your night vision?
Nemaides |
Nemaides glides down to a few feet in front of Leyli's Lion, staring intently with his beady black eyes at the lion's large snout. What about kitty over here? If it was a Gnoll, he should have no problem finding it with a sniffer THAT big. Heck, they smell so bad even Raj might be able find him...
Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |
Hamzah pats Dashki on the shoulder, "I am sorry for your suffering. No child should see such horrors."
After the Raj's test is complete, Hamzah looks at Hajar, "It would seem none here are guilty. We shall look for Pugwampi."
***
Hamzah tells Dashki, "We will look for the Pugwampi. You will help us. Do not worry. We will protect you if we find them."
Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |
Hamzah addresses the group before we leave, "Dashki has suffered mightily at the hands of the gnolls. Be sure not to leave him unprotected should we find battle."
Hamazh speaks quietly to Hajar:
Hajar nar Jundi |
Hajar smiles a broad smile.
Come friends let us follow these tracks that Mistress Leyli has found. A Pugwampi, or whatever evils lie at the end of the trail, cannot deter us from our most noble mission
Pugwampi, pshaw. The goat has probably wandered into a lions den. Sarenrae protect me from fools and liars
GM: Dave the Dwarf |
Dashki:
"Do not concern yourself overly with my safety. I have been hunting in this desert for a long time. Just then you notice him adjust the dual scimitars he wears. Still the man walks with a staff due to a bad limp from a Gnoll attack, How effective could he be in a fight?
The party gathers and eaisly finds the tracks again.
GM: Dave the Dwarf |
You begin your search through the rugged hills at night. Leyli and Grim take the lead following the tracks. Dashki tells the party that they’re looking for a little humanoid creature that’s much smaller than a halfling, with light fur, dirty claws, and a tiny jackal head. Every shadow cast from your light spells reveal nocturnal dangers only to find upon further inspestion nothing at all.
Hajar nar Jundi |
As the party prepares to set off Hajar stands before them and prays.
Dearest Light of the Sun, although you are silent this night We know you will return to us in your glory. Such as darkness turns to light so let us turn the darkness of our quest into the light of truth. Also, let us not forget that the darkest heart can be shown the light of mercy.
With his prayer said, Hajar follows Dashki into the night...
GM: Dave the Dwarf |
After following the trail for several hundred feet, every one of you feels an inexplicable rise in the natural tension of the environment, as if you expect something terrible to happen even though nothing about the terrain has changed. Soon thereafter, a sound not unlike the brief cry of a human child comes out of the darkness ahead.
Hajar nar Jundi |
As the sound peirces the night,Hajar seems ready to move out. He whispers to Hamzah.
Friend, you heard that noise? Could it possibly be the goat?
He tries to get Dashki, Leyli or Nizar's attention.
He asks one of them
Would that sound have been a goat or a human. Be quick now, lives may be on the line
If the reply is goat, he moves slowly towards the sound.
If the reply is human, he dashes almost recklessly towards it calling loundly in Sarenrae's name.
GM: Dave the Dwarf |
GM: Dave the Dwarf |
If you do a copy and paste on your rolls make sure they are named different or, I think, you will get the same result.
For those of you moving forward: You see before you the catus forest. Getting closer you now see a goat has been tied up in the middle of the forest. You see no sign of pugwampi or what you expect them to look like.
(If you walk into the forest it will require 3 acrobatics checks rolling 2 d 20 for each check)
Grim The Wanderer |
Grim will move up with the rest of the party a dagger in his hand
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
remember that grim has darkvision
Al-Akim Naziri |
Al-Akim, having remained silent for most of the journey moves into the cactus area to see if he can help the animal. Hajar, Hamzah! Watch for me.
Keeping his eyes open the ranger moves in and attempts to calm the goat.
perception1: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Handle Animal2: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
GM: Dave the Dwarf |
Grim: The first 10 feet of your journey passes without incident even though you seem to be clumsy in your movement.
The second 10 feet you sneeze causing you to trip over your own feet and fall into the spines of a cactus taking 1 damage.
You regain your composure and make it to the now frantic goat.
GM: Dave the Dwarf |
Akim: You head in a little later then Grim. When Grim falls you swear you thought you heard laughing, from a single mouth, comeing from behind the goat. (Grim you did not pick up on this) Your trip is a series of unfortnate blunders. Your loose fitting clothes seem to be trying to kill you! From falling into your eyes to tangleing around your legs you fall three times taking 3 damage.
You do manage to make it to the goat picking needles out of your hands.
I will wait for some time to continue for other players to post. Everyone saw what happened and it seemed to be very bad luck
Hajar nar Jundi |
Damnable cacti
Acrobat1: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (6) - 4 = 2
Acrobat2: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (10) - 4 = 6
Acrobat3: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (10) - 4 = 6
Acrobat4: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (18) - 4 = 14
Acrobat5: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (16) - 4 = 12
Acrobat6: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (12) - 4 = 8
Naziri and Grim, what is going on?
Do we have light sources, because its probably pitch black, giving more negatives to my acrobatics roll =(
GM: Dave the Dwarf |
Yea Raj and Gunk cast light for you guys. This spell causes a touched object to glow like a torch, shedding normal light in a 20-foot radius from the point touched. It would not make sense for you to Not have light.
Hajar your trip is much like Akim's. 3 damage. Grim and Akim both hear laughing now, one source still.
This is how the timeline will run. Grim went in first, Akim shortly after, an Hajar shortly after them, and so on. Everyone will reach the goat about the same time just seconds between each other.
Raj Ajir |
Raj elects not to enter the brambly area, using his dark-vision (60ft) instead to keep an eye out for anything furry, especially furry things that can stand on two legs. When Grim trips Raj and Nemaides share a look, and the bird takes flight with the lighted compass, staying above the brambles.
Raj is away from the cacti, so only one roll: Perception: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Nemaides |
Nemaides knew that look, scout time. Even if he couldn't communicate telepathically with Raj, Raj could always tell his emotions; useful when he noticed danger and felt suprise, shock, and even a little bit of fear, but annoying when he felt the pleasure of bugging someone determined to be a stick in the mud.
He grabbed the glowing Wayfinder from Raj's hand and flew up above the cacti forest. He knew he was a sitting duck with a light dangling from his talons to point him out, so he tried to hold it away from his body in hopes anyone with a bow would shoot at the compass and not him. He kept up a fast pace, flying about 30ft above the ground in expanding circles around the goat, searching for anything that might be hiding behind one of the cacti to ambush the approaching men.
Nemaides is away from the brambles, so only one roll. Nemaides has low light vision, so he can see everything within 40ft because he's holding the Wayfinder. He is also up above, so any hiding creatures shouldn't have cover from from the cacti.
Nemaides' Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
GM: Dave the Dwarf |
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
If hit Nemaides takes 1 damage
Gunk |
This reeks of a trap. Be careful folks says Gunk quietly to the others nearby.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
