Leyli Wildspeaker |

During the first week, Furball doesn't really wander too far from Leyli. If they noticed, he usually tries to be the last one to sleep to see if his master is safe. After a few days of sharing food and telling stories around the campfire, Furball eventually felt that it's safe enough to scout ahead and leave his master with this new group.
Leyli doesn't really talk much, especially about her past. Although they would notice she have scars on her back everytime she takes her armor off. Usually not the first one to open up, she would politely answer if asked. Due to hot climate, if they need water, they sure know who to ask for.

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Some of this is player knowledge not character knowledge. I feel it will give you a better grasp of what is going on to share this with you.
Garavel (LN Male human fighter 3):
With a lantern jaw and short black hair, the dashing Garavel looks more like a swordsman than an accountant and business expert, yet it is he who oversees much of Almah’s (the woman leading this expidetion) personal business. A strange metal bolt protrudes from the left side of his skull, a sign of his direct servitude to the Pactmasters (leaders of Katapesh) and a magical method of keeping his emotions in check while he engages in important business matters on their behalf. He often hides this bolt by wearing a plain white keffiyeh over the head—this metal bolt is a Pactmaster’s favor, and apart from ensuring loyalty and preventing emotional outbursts, the device grants Garavel a +4 resistancebonus on saving throws against mind-
affecting effects (but at the cost of neverbeing able to gain the benefits of a
morale bonus of any sort). You have noticed this bolt he wears under his keffiyeh.
Occasionally, Almah usesGaravel to do “dirty” workinvolving swordplay and
skullduggery, always managing tokeep herself removed from the lowestof her own dealings. Garavel’s years ofservice to Almah have instilled a noble
sort of love for her—an emotion he is forbidden from expressing thanks to
the spirit-hampering influence of the magical bolt. He and Almah share quarters,
but there can be nothing sexual about their relationship. Almah is directly employed by the Pactmasters.

Leyli Wildspeaker |

Based on her background, I guess you can say that Leyli has a connection with Garavel, in a way that you can call them partners but not really that close.

Grim The Wanderer |

Grim has been a rather quiet person during the week, usually tasked with advance scouting and middle of the night guard shift.
He is carrying a short sword on his belt, and a chain shirt. He prefers light armor over anything heavier due to the fact that his tail would probably not fit under it.
When asked why he joined on the hunt. he says that although he lived all his life in Katapesh he was born in Kelmarane. He opens up more during the second week of travel.
At this time he is rather a joyous person to be with. Always in good mood and ready to talk about stories and rumors of things happening in katapesh. He is rather well connected it seems. But he never talk much about himself or what he does. He usually deflect with " Oh you know i am in the business of providing security devices for other to hide their stuff".
Every once in awhile he will take out 5 colored ball and juggle with them., doing cartwheels and making coins disappear from his hands.

Hajar nar Jundi |

Hajar spends the week as he spends most weeks, in prayer, contemplation and physical training.
Hajar looks like a typical Keleshite although he is larger and taller than the average Keleshite. He has a full head of dark hair with dark eyes and tanned brown skin. He stands at 6'6" which is over a foot taller than a "normal" Keleshite who tend to be smaller. Not much belies his "unnatural" origins, except for a slight "flash" in his eyes when roused to anger and a much higher than normal body temperature.
Hajar takes pains to engage and greet every member of the caravan over the week, his topics of conversation range from the banal (weather) to the spiritual (Topics of faith).

Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

Hamzah wraps his head with a white keffiyeh. He wears white thawb over his breastplate. A small steel shield bearing the sun angel Sarenrae on its face is slung on his belt and a sheathed scimitar hangs on the opposite side (left). He is a dark-skinned man with short black hair and a full, but well-kept, beard and moustache. He has eyes the color of dark gold. He is tall, lean, and athletic with large hands and feet. His face is well-formed and handsome with a healthy tightness to the skin found on a man in good health.
Hamzah prays every morning at the coming of the dawn, at noon when the sun is at its highest, and at sunset when the sun hides itself away for the night. He bathes himself with water often seeming to call it from heaven with a prayer to Sarenrae. He talks with others of Sarenrae if they ask him about The Dawnflower. He says his morning prayers with Hajar, whom he spends most of his time associating with, though he is a friendly sort with an affable disposition.

Leyli Wildspeaker |

Hmm, we're filled with lawful good people! I won't have a hard time then, I mean lawful good won't destroy nature too right? Quick question, who is going to melee?

Gunk |

Gunk is quite tall for a gnome and very proud of that fact. He stands at a whopping 3'6" tall and has strikingly red hair; some call it flame colored. He wears leather armor constantly and walks with the assistance of his staff. You are unsure if he needs the staff to walk, but he does lean on it ... perhaps simply for the effect. He also has a pet rat that he frequently takes out and feeds. He can often be found whispering to the rat as he plays with it.
Gunk immediately sets about getting to know his new companions. He is extremely friendly and polite and is equally quick with a joke and a complement. He frequently uses his prestidigitation to assist others with their chores and daily routines. Early to bed and early to rise, he frequently volunteers for the early morning shift at the watch.
He also can frequently be found near the cook fire offering to help out.

Hajar nar Jundi |

Lawful Good characters might indeed have an affinity or appreciation for nature, lawful and goodness don't really describe how a person feels about nature specifically
Leyli my dear one, my talents lay in the martial as opposed to the mystical

Leyli Wildspeaker |

"Forgive me if I have offended you. I no doubt is not questioning your skills, it's just a matter on how will I be able to provide help besides giving you guys free water all day long." says Leyli giving the paladin a bow of acknowledgment.

Hajar nar Jundi |

I didn't see it as questioning, was just answering as to my melee ability:)
Beautiful Leyli, you will no doubt provide our group with many wonderous and magnificent feats, Yes.

Al-Akim Naziri |

Al-Akim, tall for his people at 5'10" is overshadowed by the size of the Paladin Hajar. Skin darkened and weathered by the sun is mostly covered by loose fitting, light clothes. He wears studded leather armor, and a Falchion decorated with holy symbols of the Dawnflower and beset with minor gems. Across his back is a well-worn bow, and small quiver. Below his pale blue colored keffiyeh are surprising bright blue eyes, unusual among Keleshites. He has well groomed facial hair which ends in a tightly tied goatee that helps to further define his thin face and cheekbones.
A Devout follower of Sarenrae, Al-Akim apprenticed with a Paladin of Sarenrae, and joins Hajar and Hamzah in their morning ritual prayers.
While not as jovial as the Gnome, Gunk, Al-Akim makes for a good traveling companion. He is good natured, often sharing secrets of the Desert and pointing out its hidden gems. He seems to truly enjoy life in the desert. Often offering advice on ways to diminish the effects of the sun, heat, and sand.
Joining in the conversation with Hajar and Leyli, "I have some skill for hunting with the bow and arrow, but my faith lies in my blade."

Raj prefers to keep to himself for the most part, but as the days go by different aspects of his persona cone to light. He wears very little, just a simple vest with numerous pockets, a light pair of desert pants, and a bag slung over his shoulder. Though he appears quite impressive physically; taller than average, shaved head, broad chest, he prefers to help with magic, favoring a spell that seems to conjure a relatively strong force for an extended period of time that is capable of performing a variety of duties.
Though he has not yet admitted to it, it is widely speculated in camp that the 6th evening's entertainment was provided by Raj's spell work. Gunk had been attending to the cook fire when a pair of burning sticks seemingly lifted themselves into the air, and proceeded to harass him throughout camp.
The one Raj seems to have taken most note of is Hajar, whom Raj discovered had elemental origins fairly early on by virtue of a couple of detect magic spells. While he finds Hajar's servitude to the gods ridiculous, he saw in him a kindred spirit, and though after two weeks he's given Hajar up as a lost cause, he frequently sought out philosophical discussions about the planes and the entities that live there in.
To everyone else on the trip, Raj has been most present vicariously through his familiar, Nemaides, though not everyone feels that's a good thing. The Raven loves to chatter, picking up a conversation with anyone who'll listen, chattering away the hours about flying, girls, food, everything in between, and sometimes all three! He seemed to take a special pleasure in singing a certain bawdy song within earshot of Hamzah just to watch him cringe, though Raj quickly had him stop if he was close enough to hear too. The little bird could be a bit vindictive as well: Those that consistently refused to socialize with Nemaides [read Garavel] have found on at least one occasion a little splatter of bird-poo on the top of their head, much to their chagrin, though after Raj warned that if he wasn't careful someone might get hungry for some raven stew Nemaides stopped this practice... mostly...

Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

Hamzah walks with Hajar. When his friend strikes up a conversation with Leyli, he addresses Leyli when the opportunity presents itself, "What of this lion that follows you about like a dog? It is unusual for a lion to follow someone in such a fashion."

Hajar nar Jundi |

Brother and most special companion Naziri, it is great that you have joined our conversation. Mistress Leyli is worried about her ability to contribute to our mission, I'm sure you agree that these fears are unfounded Yes.

Al-Akim Naziri |

Devoted Brother Hajar, I agree that these fears are misguided. I must impress Leyli, that we will call on you for more than water. Though we may have great strength of arm today, tomorrow our strength will wane. On that day and many others, Beautiful Leyli, may your virtues be revealed.
Al-Akim nods deeply in respect to the revered Druid.
SPeaking again to Leyli,"In the desert of life the wise person travels by caravan, while the fool prefers to travel alone." Looking to Hajar, We shall each be grateful for one another, and very soon I should expect."

Hajar nar Jundi |

Our agreement is in full Naziri. We will learn to complement each other as we travel these lands and liberate them from ignorance and savagery
As Hamzah approaches, Ahh my most munificent friend Hamzah, Walk with us and discuss our mission to bring the light of our beautiful goddess to these untamed lands

A large raven fluttered onto Leyli's shoulder, earning himself a dark look from the lion following behind. Blech, this place could use a little less light if you ask me. Is no one else noticing this mercilessly blistering sunlight that's been singeing my tail feathers for the last few weeks?
The bird turned, sending the gaze of the lion behind him. And kitty? Forget it, you're not riding on anyone anytime soon, and Raj is in a boring mood.

Love the bird keep it up

Gunk |

Gunk is sitting near and attending to the fire when all of a sudden two embers pop unnaturally out of the flame and head directly for the gnomes head. He leaps up in both surprise and wonder.
Spellcraft Roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
Inwardly Gunk realizes immediately what is afoot but outwardly he continues to dodge the embers assault. He runs away giggling and laughing and dodges in between Hajar and Al-Akim during their conversation.
After the excitement settles down and the others go to sleep Gunk quietly casts Prestidigitation and proceeds to subtly move a leaf over towards the sleeping Raj Ajir and gently uses it to tickle the big mans face while he sleeps. Every time Raj russles in his sleep, Gunk quickly lets the leaf fall to the ground. And once he settles down again, Gunk again begins his assault.

![]() |

After a few rounds of this, Raj finally looks over at Nemaides. Did you see something?
The bird, who Gunk notices for the first time looking straight at him from the shadows, replies nonchalantly Nope, nothing that I can see.
Raj looks almost incredulously at Nemaides, then rolls over with a blanket over his head. Once asleep, Nemaides mouths something to Gunk, and though its hard to tell, he's pretty sure he said Do it again!

Leyli Wildspeaker |

The lion, looks at the raven and instead of trying to eat it, it just looks at it with an elevated level of curiosity. Certainly not familiar with that kind of species.
"I used to take care for a lot of them once, until a severe sandstorm just came out of nowhere and left us all out in the desert with nothing. I was able to provide food and water, but most of them were plagued by an infection that I wasn't able to cure. This one was lucky enough to be spared, and he loyally stayed by my side ever since."
Ok, who is Nemaides?

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Gravel inform's you that the party is almost to its destination. As soon as the craggy tree appears over the next hill, it becomes obvious why it is called the Sultan’s Claw. With five immense, mostly leafless branches, the growth looks more like a giant skeletal talon than a thing of living wood.
As the party tops the last rise, you see a caravan of a half-dozen wagons and a large tent clustered around the distinctive tree come into view. Camels in a nearby pen prance in agitation, and a clutch of confused goats and livestock wander the grounds around the wagons. Perhaps a dozen men and women rush around the campsite, chasing down an animal or hastening toward the center of the cluster, near the Sultan’s Claw, with pails of water in their hands. One of the wagons is on fire!
Lush orange and red flames engulf an elaborate wooden wagon emblazoned with painted moons and stars. A gout of smoke pours from an open door, and as you approach an ill wind blows a number of colorful fortune-telling Harrow cards from inside the wagon.
Raj one of these singed cards blows directly at you catching against your chest in a burst of orange cinders. It is the Cyclone, signifying a force that tears through whatever it meets at the behest of an intelligent being. The card portends war, arson, and destructive plans. As the your eyes shift their focus from the Cyclone back to the wagon, the whole of the Sultan’s Claw erupts into brilliant flame.
The central flap of an elaborate tent flies open and a regal woman who can only be Almah steps out into the firelit night. “Douse that flame!” she shouts to the men surrounding the wagon before turning in your direction. “Ah, Garavel!” she says. “And just a moment later than the nick of time, as usual.” Looking specifically past her major domo and directly at the party, Almah barks out a simple order before running off toward the fire: “Find some way to help!”
You see mutiple ways to do just that!
1. Help put out the fire.
2. Move the next nearest wagon out of the way so the fire does not spread.
3. Heal wounded fire fighters.
4. Help round up panicked animals.
(Tell me how you will help as each requires different skill checks.)

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Ok, who is Nemaides?
The talking raven I think.

Leyli Wildspeaker |

Sensing the chaos around the campsite, This fire is spreading and the dryness of the air is not helping either.
"Poor animals are running in panic, Furball guard our wagon. Signal me if it catches fire, I'll help pull the nearest wagons out of the way."

![]() |

Raj seems stunned for a moment as he views the card, then his eyes widen. An Efreet? He hurriedly runs towards the nearest endangered wagon to guide it out of harms way, but once the camels are redirected he casts detect magic to scan for magical sources for the flames, especially magical beings. Nemaides [the raven] meanwhile circles over head, cawing out encouragement to the fire fighters below.

Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

Hamzah does not hesitate. "Leyli, if you can make water, do so. They will need much to tame this fire. I will attend those that fight it."
"Hajar! Akim! Help move the wagons."
Hamzah will move to a place near the fire, yet not close enough to suffer too much ill from it. He will yell, "Come to me if you are burned. Sarenrae's light will heal your hurts."
I will use Channel Postive Energy to heal around whichever cluster of burned men will have the greatest effect.
Channel Positive Energy: Heal: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Hajar nar Jundi |

I am coming Hamzah! By Sarenrae's light what has happened here!
Hajar runs to the nearest wagon and pushes with all his might.
strcheck: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
After this he will help rescue anyone who is trapped by the flames as he does not fear them.
He is aware that he resists fire, he just thinks its a blessing from his god

Leyli Wildspeaker |

Str Check: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18
"Push this over there! Leave the unnecessary things behind, grab the most important ones and put it inside the wagons to make it easier!"

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Round 1
Grim will pour the water from his waterskin on his cloak (or any heavy material that could be used) and help take out the fire
Grim can go deep inside the fire zone since he has some degree of protection from that element
Almah, Garavel, and four soldiers dressed in the distinctive red chitin-plate armor of the Pactmaster Guard run back and forth between the burning wagon and an uncovered wagon about 20 feet away. The latter contains a huge barrel holding enough drinking water to serve the entire campsite for a week. At present, it will take them quite a while to quench the fire using the pail-by-pail method. There are more buckets to be grabbed if you wish to help. You have thought if only you could carry the entire water barrel over to douse the fire, it would surely puts it out! Of course then the camp would have no more drinking water....

A red-headed halfling kneels next to two severely burned mercenaries who tried to enter the burning wagon. He is tending to one of the badly wounded (a man), but he is unable to focus on his second patient, a female, who lies near death from terrible burns and smoke inhalation.
Your healing brings them both from the brink of death. Confused they are very gratful to their savior! Seeing that the blaze is still going they both ask you "What should we do to help!?"

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Leyli is not able to push the cart out of the way. Hajar comes to lend his help as well.
Hajar had a str check of 15. Add 14 for all the others pushing. (Leyli you forgot your own +4 str) and you got 29.
Hajar with his natural talent for leading cordinates everone with a 1...2...3...PUSH! And the wagon Rolls to safety!

Leyli Wildspeaker |

"Anyone help these people move these wagons away!" as Leyli asks for help.
As soon as someone responds, Leyli moves quickly to the people that gathers water. She closes her eyes and chants,
"Grant me water, spirits of the desert!"
Leyli casts Create Water on wherever they use to hold water.

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Hearing the offer for help grim will instantly reply:
Go grab that big barrel of water in the wagon over there and bring it to me.
Once they bring it to grim he will grab it walk inside the fire an pour it on it's center.
Str check if the two newly healed help that will give you a +4 to your check.

Grim str check.
Gunk your last to go in round 1
Leyli you will go first in round 2 if we make it that far.

"More water on the fire. Leave the wagons that you cannot save. Bring any hurt to me. They must be cared for first."

Hamzah Hamas Al Dajannah |

"Sarenrae smiles on us,"Hamzah inspects the wounded doing what he can to mend them. After he has completed this task, he will answer Almah's call.
"Well met, Almah. It is good to talk again, Gravel." He stands with Hajar.

Al-Akim Naziri |

"The peace of the Dawnflower be upon you Almah." Al-Akim bows deeply, and introduces himself "I am Al-Akim Naziri blessed of the desert and servant of Sarenrae."
