The Blue Bugbear hit Gunk for 4.

Kardswann and the Flind will go last in the round.

His illusion fading, Raj begins walking towards where Kardswann will land, taking no heed of the ogre or bugbears. He holds out his staff, on which nemaides lands. As Raj chants, a pale blue light seeps up through Nemaides, and as Raj rounds the bend around the seats the bird takes off to the right and up.
Shame you can't can't maintain a spell while casting another one... overcoming that might be a good idea for a rod. Raj has given Nemaides a Frigid Touch Spell to hold, but neither Raj or Nemaides will get to Kardswann and the flind till next round, so Naziri will have to survive until then. Then it's 8d6 cold damage for Kardswann when Raj and Nemaides touch him at the same time. Hopefully Kardswann doesn't have spell resistance.

Grim The Wanderer |

tks i can't acces the files when using my phone during breaks at work. I am home now... so i moved myself
Round 2
5 Ft step then TWF full attack while flanking
Dagger: 1d20 + 7 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 7 - 2 + 2 = 201d4 + 1 + 2d8 ⇒ (4) + 1 + (7, 7) = 19
Dagger: 1d20 + 6 - 2 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 - 2 + 2 = 131d4 + 0 + 2d8 ⇒ (2) + 0 + (6, 7) = 15
Current AC 22

Hajar nar Jundi |

Grim, I had moved you already to be flanking with Gunk....also, not sure if this is accurate but you rolled 1d6 damage for a dagger. Raj, you might wanna look up the rules on casting spells and holding them. I'm not sure you can do that with a familiar, he can deliver touch spells but I don't think he can store them for a round.

![]() |

I re-read a little of the magic section of the players handbook, and while you are correct about my action economy mistake (thought I could concentrate for a move action, not a standard, and yes, no spells at the same time) I'm afaid you are incorrect about the touch spells:
Touch Spells and Holding the Charge:In most cases, if you don't discharge a touch spell on the round you cast it, you can hold the charge (postpone the discharge of the spell) indefinitely. You can make touch attacks round after round until the spell is discharged. If you cast another spell, the touch spell dissipates.
And since Nemaides is holding the spell and not me I can cast more spells freely, though Nemaides cannot.

Gunk |

GM Dave, my AC is now 19 with the casting of shield in the first round. So I'm not sure that attack actually hit me.
Gunk is shocked at his immediate danger of being in melee with a bugbear, a situation he is woefully ill equipped to handle. He quickly does a 5' step backwards away from the creature and tosses a bomb at the two bugbears in the back.
Rng Touch Atk: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
Dmg and reflex save for one: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (3, 5) + 3 = 11
edit: roll to confirm crit
Rng Touch Atk: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Dmg and reflex save for one: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (1, 6) + 3 = 10
that should be 21 damage to the one bugbear and 4 to his buddy unless he makes his save.
Gunk throws his bomb mixture and it bounces wildly off the creatures arm and the poor creature looks down in confusion at the strange glass vial just as hit ricochets up into his face. The vial ignites and a jet of blue orange flame cooks his eye ball right in its socket!

Start Round 3

Gunk |

So red, yellow, and ogre are all down? Gunk will ready an action with his next bomb and throw it if at any point in the combat turn two or more enemies are adjacent to one another.
rng touch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
dmg ref save for splash 14: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8
edit: wow, 2 in a row.
Confirmation rolls
confirm: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
extra damage: 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (4, 1) + 3 = 8
ok here is a question, if Gunk lands a crit with his bomb damage is doubled as per normal. But is the splash damage also doubled? I couldn't find anything in the rule books on that ... mind you I only did a cursory glance.

Hajar nar Jundi |

Hajar is going to Smite Evil on Kardswann and charge him, this will provoke an AoO from the bugbear but w/e.
Kardswann!
ChargingSmitingTempest: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 31
Damage: 2d4 + 11 ⇒ (2, 4) + 11 = 17
Critconfirm: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (10) + 12 = 22
damage: 2d4 + 11 ⇒ (4, 2) + 11 = 17
oh, am flanking with raj, add 2 to both d20 rolls. Also, if its ok with you Dave, gonna say I struck nonlethal. so add 2 damage to the total but it'll all be nonlethal.

Al-Akim Naziri |

Al-Akim, looks distraught briefly as his Falchion clatters to the floor. However, with a brief shift of his right wrist, a cruel looking dagger falls into his hand out of the wrist sheath hidden beneath his worn sleeves. He plunges forward with the dagger.
"May Sarenrae redeem you!"
Power Attack
attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Attack of Opp on Hajar
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Morning Star Damage to Hajar: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
For the nolethal damage I am not going to keep 2 sets of numbers like you are supposed to. Just for this fight only you non lethal damage will count as lethal for taking him down. It will not kill him though.

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Threatened Squares: You threaten all squares into which
you can make a melee attack, even when it is not your turn.
Generally, that means everything in all squares adjacent
to your space (including diagonally). An enemy that takes
certain actions while in a threatened square provokes an
attack of opportunity from you. If you’re unarmed, you
don’t normally threaten any squares and thus can’t make
attacks of opportunity.
I take this to mean that Kardswann can attack Raj and Hajar. He is a boss so that's how its going to work regardless but would be nice to know if that's the RAW for future encounters.
Kardswann roars from the pain of Hajar's attack and retaliates.
1d20 + 16 ⇒ (9) + 16 = 25 Hits. The Great Axe flares with magic energy as it touches Hajar. This weapon was made to fight those of Hajars ancestry and alignment. (Bane Lawful Outsider)
1d12 + 2d6 + 12 ⇒ (11) + (4, 3) + 12 = 30 The blow drops Hajar to the ground!
Hajar was at 19 from the morning star so he is at -11 now.
Hajar you will have a permanent scar from that hit so figure out what you want it to be.

Hajar nar Jundi |

Does Kardswann have multiple attacks? or is he large sized? Because he may only have 1 attack per round. Not sure how else he would get 2.

GM: Dave the Dwarf |

Summary of round 3:
Hajar critted Kardswann who in turn hit Hajar for 30 damage.
Hajar is at -11
Kardswann has taken 42 damage.
Naziri attacks the Flind.
The Flind has taken 33 damage.
The Flind hit Naziri for 7 damage.
Gunk killed the last Bugbear.
Grim and Raj still have actions in round 3. Only Kardswann and the Flind Gnoll remain.
The surrounding crowd goes wild when Hajar hits the ground. There is yelling and betting going on now but you can not make any of it out. Everything is just a haze of yelling and blood.

Hajar nar Jundi |

Yeah, I knew that was coming. I was warned....
I'll take my con check to not die. Con: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Hajar nar Jundi |

I hope your description was just fluff and not an actual movement, because provoking an AoO from this guy isn't wise....he hurts.

Al-Akim Naziri |

my Gnoll favored enemy counts against the flind Gnolls right? If so, I forgot +2 damage to each of my attacks. That would be +4 damage on the crit, and +2 on the dagger attack.
Medium humanoid (gnoll)
Flinds are a race closely related to gnolls. The two races share some strong similarities, and at first sight inexperienced adventurers could easily confuse the two. Flinds are much stockier than their lanky kin, much stronger and hardier, and are certainly more dangerous.
It is unknown if flinds are a subspecies of the gnoll or a genetic anomaly produced among large gnoll packs. Flinds are often found among gnoll bands acting as leaders, as their strength and relatively superior intelligence puts them above their lesser brethren.

![]() |

No attack of opportunity, I thought you were next to me, not accross. Kardswann is in the square I was in for some reason, that's what confused me. I'll edit my post.
As Nemaides flew into Kardswann's back, Raj didn't bother checking to see if the spell had gone off. Hajar had beeen hit hard, and lay bleeding on the ground. With Kardswann so close to him, there was no chance of reviving him, and so Raj ran, ran back onto the stage. He almost tripped on his way though, when he looked at his left leg he found that Kardswann must have knicked him in the thigh, but he made it there. Withdraw action. He immediately pulls out a candle and a bag. Don't worry Hajar, help is on the way.

![]() |

Where'd the +3d8 come from? I thought you only got two sneak attack dice at this level. Actually, how are you sneak attacking Kardswann at all?
Round 4:
Nemaides bites into Kardswann's back, sending a terrible cold into his body. The blue light drains from Nemaides and into Kardswann, slowing his movements, and leaving a cryo-wound on his back.
Take that! Caws Nemaides, but his bravery quickly abates and he makes a run (flight) for it, back towards Raj.
Meanwhile...
Summon Monster 2:
number of eagles: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Raj begins chanting as he leans against the battle stage, and his candle lights. This time though, not one, but three lights shoot off from it. They swirl around in a tight circle about near the ceiling above Kardswann, and then with a synchronized, piercing shriek, 3 glowing white eagles begin their speedy decent in perfect formation.
The spell completed, he catches Nemaides on his arm. Assuming Kardswann didn't use his turn to kill him, of course... Thank goodness he only gets a maximum of one attack this turn!

Hajar nar Jundi |

Not 100% on the rules regarding flyers but shouldn't flying out of a threatened space provoke? Although, staggered creatures might not get AoO's

Al-Akim Naziri |

Seeing Kardswann staggered, and the appearance of Raj's eagles, Naziri takes his opportunity to step back and draw his bow. Steadyng his ragged breathing the Ranger levels his arms to the target, and looses an arrow. In an instant his arm reaches back and deftly finds a second arrow which immediately follows the first in search of the brute's chest.
Attack1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Attack2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
