Vuloo will detect magic on the dhampir and will search him thoroughly. "Leave him. He shouldn't be much of a threat in his current state. We'll come back for him on the way out."

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8

Vuloo turns to Braelex, "Are you able to pick the lock?"

Rifling through the man's gear, you find a magic wand, a magic cloak, a masterwork composite longbow (+4), spell component pouch, spellbook, 20 arrows, a week's worth of rations and a magical mithral rapier with a slightly serrated blade and cross guard forged in the shape of rose vines.

Spellbook Contents:
burning hands, shield, shocking grasp, magic missile, chill touch, bulls strength, invisibility, scorching ray, bears endurance, spider climb, displacement, vampiric touch

Relan finds that the bow is slightly better suited to his strength than his current longbow and asks if he might switch it out.He has a masterwork composite longbow (+3) He is curious about the small sword having never seen such a blade but also dubious how such a small thing might be employed in a fight.

I intend to give him back his belongings when we come back for him but I think it is fair we should not leave him armed for now...

Levelle bends down and gingerly retrieves the rapier, components and the spellbook and the wand (unless anyone intends to take any of those things) and sticks the items in her haversack.

Andel will attempt to identify the wand, cloak and rapier:

Agreeing with Vuloo but with less sarcasm Relan adds greedily No his belongings are forfeit. As spoils of battle they fall to us. You may of course do as you wish with your share of treasure but you shall not give away mine. I feel quite generous that we have let the creature keep his life, or unlike, or whatever he lives. As the party debates what to do with the unconscious sentry, Braelex fiddles with the lock on the doors. With an audible click, they open and swing outward.

A row of marble columns, each carved to resemble a beautiful woman, supports the ceiling of this long, curving hallway, although the pillar closest to the western door seems to be missing it's head.

As you enter and pass through the room, you get the sense that the statues are watching you. Likely a trick of the incredibly gifted sculptor, but unnerving nonetheless.

I'll post the map later today and the next room's description unless you wish to do anything specific here.

In anticipation of the next room, I'll take Perception checks from anyone who can roll before I post again.

Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30

Braelex creeps forward carefully, loaded crossbow raised and ready.

Creeping ahead, Braelex studies the columns but then glances the thin outline of a square-shaped seam in the floor ahead where the tunnel turns back west. She also spies a button on the wall just short of it.

Female Azlanti Pureblood Alchemist (Trap Breaker) 10

Braelex will point out the seam and button to the others, making sure they keep clear when she pushes it.

Braelex presses the button and a mechanical scraping noise emanates from below the floor. After a quick check, she declares the floor safe and the party passes over the now sealed pit trap.

Leading the party down the long hall under the globes of flickering magical flame, Braelex finds another immaculately carved metal door. After she searches the door, she finds no traps nor is it locked.

Given this is a single file hallway, please arrange yourself in a marching order

I can weild this "Silverfang" for now if that works for the group. I can hold the cloak until we know more about it....and the wand?

Levelle holds it out to see if anyone wants to take it. On the other subject the elf holds her tongue. The group had been out here for a while and tensions were high in their task. Perhaps Relan and Vuloo were right but still...the hunter shrugs to herself mentally. Now is not the time...

Order set ... one last chance to complain/change

Relan checks and pushes open the door, glancing in. A pair of columns carved to resemble a beautiful woman flank a fifteen-foot-wide alcove in the west wall of this forty-footlong hall. A mural of the same woman standing atop a towering pyramid is painted on the wall of the alcove, but it, like the walls and floor of the hall, is splashed with blood. Crouched down and drawing their fingers idly through the blood are two darkly handsome naked men. Their exquisite looks are interrupted only by their bat wings, horns and forked tail.

They grin widely as you enter drawing iron scimitars, "More playthings. Charmed, I'm sure," says one

The other replies, "How droll, let's kill them quickly and make up for the last mess." It unfolds its wings and throws its chest out, waves of despair emanating from it. Relan, Braelex, Vuloo, and Aidon make DC19 Will Saves or be despaired (-2 penalty on attack rolls, saving throws, ability checks, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls.)

Levelle fires an arrow through the crowd and nicks one of the creatures on the cheek. A small puff of black smoke exudes from the scratch that appears and the man-thing hisses in pain and anger.

Relan shakes off the magical charm and steps forward swinging his cold iron ranseur low sending the man crashing to the ground. He follows up immediately with a pair vicious stabs creating gouts of black blood and sizzling sounds. The man screams in agony.

Braelex fires and strikes one easily, but her bolt shatters on the creature's skin, causing no damage.

Aidon does stuff.

Andel delays long enough to notice something odd ... the heads of the statues from the previous rooms are crawling on mechanical spider-like legs and rushing toward the party! They fire green rays from their eyes at the last 3 members of the party.

Images uploaded to Roll 20 for both types of creatures

Knowledge Arcana DC19:
The creatures are marble sentinels, constructs from the Thassilonian era, prized for their ability not only to detect intruders, but also to restrain them with paralyzing bolts. This ability only lasts temporarily, so the creator or other creature the sentinel is keyed to would receive a mental alert

The standing man demon snarls and bolts to the south flying on its wings. It pauses outside the double doors to the south and makes a series of intricate gestures.

The demon on the ground, still in agony from his smoking wounds, makes a quick gesture and disappears, reappearing flying a foot off the ground directly behind Relan brandishing his scimitar.

Levelle cries out a warning and adapts her and Talaay's aspects to accommodate the newcomers. The bird of prey strikes in a flurry of claws and beak and gets a talon into something important, ripping a bolt or two off. Levelle fires as well and strikes the same creature with an arrow sending sparks and machinery flying.

Relan steps smoothly away from the teleported demon connecting once again driving the point of his weapon deep into the thing's thigh. (You are correct, I forgot to update the map. Fixed now)

Knowledge Planes DC18:

"Thank you, Relan," Braelex winks at the fighter as the demon falls. She moves out into the larger chamber, turning the corner to stay behind Relan but clear of the exit. Her hands race to ready a grenade. She pauses a moment and then hurls a bomb into the south end of the room, enveloping the second demon in a noxious cloud.

Ready until the creatures beyond approach the door...

Stink bomb! Fort DC 17 or become nauseated.

Lust & Violence Round 3

Initiative: Levelle, Relan, Vuloo, Braelex, Aidon, Andel, Sentinels, Incubus, Cacodaemons

Levelle and Talaay continue to harass the sentinels leaving the lower one still moving but sparking with magic electricity and slightly malfunctioning.

Relan takes two swings at the man-demon and drops it as Vuloo opens him a lifelink. He then steps away from the goat-demons. (Can't acro move ... already used your full round action ... all you have is the 5')

Braelex smiles and her sudden fortune and moves forward to huck a poisonous bomb down the hall (The creatures beyond actually disappeared last round, and I didn't mention that, so you wouldn't have seen them). It explodes in a fury, and the demon down there looks left and right as the greenish smoke swirls around him. He disappears from sight.

Aidon's summons attack the newcomers. (Can't place one under Talaay, she's occupying that square.) One elemental smashes a chunk of marble off the rear sentinel. One of the ones up front punches a goat-demon while it dodges the archon's light blasts.

The sentinels all attack nearby targets, destroying an elemental and shredding Talaay. The other incubus teleports in near his goat men, obviously unaffected by the poison cloud. He commands his goat-men as he waves his scimitar, pointing at Braelex.

Abyssal:
"The women, kill the women, first!"

The goat demons flank the earth elemental, one taking a swing at it and the other raging at Braelex.

Popping up to the south of the archon are a series of 2 and a half foot diameter orbs. An ever-gnashing maw, filled with row after row of mismatched teeth, dominate these frightful creatures' orb-like bodies.

They babble hysterically and attempt to confuse Braelex, Relan, the archon and EE3.

Each of the aforementioned PCs/summons please make a DC12 Will Save or be confused

Knowledge Planes DC12:
The creatures are cacodaemons, spawn from eddies of angry, violent, and demented souls amid the mists of Abaddon. Dim-witted but utterly evil, they endlessly seek to cause pain and indulge their hunger for mortal souls.
