Levelle Mahe |

Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (3) + 13 = 16 Wow really? Its like my characts THING for frick a fraks sake, lol
Wow she is uh....quite something...

Relan* |

Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22 Sorta my thing too. :P Perception is too valuable not to keep maxed out.
Look there at the images feet. It is much more warn there. Can anyone read what it says? I cannot.
Linguistics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13

Andel Gessaran |

Andel studies the inscriptions. "It reads 'Prostrate thyself and demonstrate proper devotion, my sweet slave, if you wish to enter my domain.' "

Levelle Mahe |

Kiss her feet? The elf looks at the others. Maybe just a vigorous foot rub will do?
Levelle will (room permitting) reach down and try to touch/push on the images feet...

Vuloo |

Vuloo shrugs, "I have no intention of prostrating myself for any runelord. Especially Sorshen."
He peers into space beyond the hidden door. "We better check the hall carefully for traps or secret doors."
Vuloo will detect magic on the hall.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Andel Gessaran |

Andel carefully checks the hall for danger or hidden portals using his heightened senses.
Perception: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32

Relan* |

Not that big of deal. Relan says after the search is complete. He gets down on his knees and prostrates himself at the statue. If nothing happens he then kisses its feet.

DM Fflash |

These boats are like the ones in the previous lake but have oars instead of poles.
You look about getting your bearings and wondering where you are and whether the door you passed up was integral to your quest. With that thought, you feel a strong tug from the Shard of Greed toward the lake. Your destination takes you through the path of this cavern ... you are certain of it.
Actions from Braelex and Aidon who are now standing there alone?

Relan* |

Relan is standing as you arrive. He is looking out over the underground lake and points saying The next shard is that way. I can feel its call.

Vuloo |

Vuloo sighs, "I suppose we must take these boats to that stone platform."
He detects magic on the boats and checks that they are seaworthy.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
He turns to Levelle, "Can you have Taalay scout down the tunnel again?"
Vuloo will step into whatever boat Relan picks.

Levelle Mahe |

Levelle will send Talaay out a bit like last time. I think the boat distro from last time should work.
-Posted with Wayfinder

DM Fflash |

Levelle sends Talaay off and her eyes glaze over as she communicates with her companion.
Assuming Levelle shares info and not spoilering
Gauntlet
The lake constricts here to a width of thirty feet or so, the cave walls narrowing down to form a tunnel. The ceiling is thirty feet above, while numerous ledges line the walls at varying heights. Several of these ledges contain manacled humanoid bodies. The remains are in advanced stages of decomposition, and in many cases are no more than skeletons.
As Talaay flies through, two creatures detach from the shadowy alcoves near the body and swoop down toward the animal. They are monstrously sized, undead bats with mottled, decayed flesh and eyes that smolder with an unholy green glow.
Roll Init for Talaay. Levelle may make a Knowledge Religion to identify. Image being added to Roll 20. Note the tokens look like crap ... since I got the new OS, I've been struggling with my token editor .. .. everything else runs great.
Init: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

Levelle Mahe |

Talaay: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 The bird is caught by surprise...
Levelle Kno: Rel (Untrained): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Levelle describes the creatures to the others before muttering to herself, Come back to us Talaay. Come back...

DM Fflash |

The Gauntlet Round 1
Init: Bats, Talaay
The stunned bird moves to change direction to slowly and the gigantic bats descend down upon it mercilessly. One lets out an ear-piercing shriek, easily audible to the party way back at the platform.
Talaay needs to make a DC16 Fort Save or be stunned for 1d3 ⇒ 3 rounds
The second creatures swoops in to bite at Levelle's animal companion but just misses as it swings by.
Bite to hit vs flat footed Talaay: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12; miss
Talaay's turn + anyone else who wants to enter combat can roll initiative

Vuloo |

Vuloo jumps in the boat and taps Relan shoulder, "Row towards the shrieking. Talaay needs help."
Vuloo will establish a life link with Talaay as soon as the bird comes within range.

Levelle Mahe |

Talaay Fort: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Talaay shakes off whatever effect attempts to take over and maks as rapid a return to Levelle as possible. Marines! We are leaving!
Levelle pulls an arrow and moves to the boat with Relan and Vuloo, He's coming back as fast as he can but there is more than one of those bat things that are attacking him... The hunter's frustration is clear.
Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19

Relan* |

Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
Knowledge (religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Perhaps Talaay is faster than the creatures. Many such undead are slow. I would rather face them here than over water. He readies his bow in hopes of a shot.

DM Fflash |

End of Round 1
Talaay is significantly more agile than the bats and plummets about 20 feet to get out of their range before extending her wings and shooting back toward the party. (Height indicators added to tokens ... red bar ... height above ground ... all the way to the right is 80 feet up)
The Gauntlet Round 2
Levelle, Braelex, Bats, Relan, Talaay, Vuloo, Andel, Aidon
If you didn't roll, I added your init to the end, since I'm too lazy to type it in right now
Levelle moves into the boat that Relan has set up drawing an arrow and trying to stand unsteadily as the boat rocks in the water.
Vuloo joins her shortly thereafter as Braelex eyes the corner for the bats with an aimed bolt. (Note, it's pretty much dim light every where so as long as you have line of sight, you can shoot)
The bats screech a little less loudly and come flying in hot pursuit of Talaay, albeit not nearly as swiftly. The nearer one turns its pursuit into a full-fledged diving charge and gets close enough to Talaay to snap at tail feathers but not close enough to actually catch the bird.
Talaay's turn, then Andel if he's going to act and then back to the top of the order.
Relan feels the creature is right on the tip of his tongue, but is unable to come up with a name

Relan* |

Relan readies an action to looses a shaft at the bat-creature when it gets closer one range increment.
Masterwork Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 191d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

Levelle Mahe |

Talaay continues his flight to meet and then pass the group.
Levelle, like Relan, prepares an arrow waiting for a good moment to shoot...
Shoot! Deadly Aim: 1d20 + 8 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 8 - 2 = 13 Ugh

DM Fflash |

Sorry, been off at my daughter's wedding.
The Gauntlet Round 3
Levelle, Braelex, Relan, Bats, Talaay, Vuloo, Andel, Aidon
Talaay distances herself even further from the bats, who are lagging behind signficantly. They prepare to turn back until Andel's arrow wings past one and they screech and spin in the air, now moving toward the platform.
160 feet out ... not certain how close you want to be on your readied shots, with the exception of Braelex

Relan* |

Relan's readied action above takes place at approximately 100 feet out. He will error on the side of making sure the undead is withing his most effective range.

DM Fflash |

The Gauntlet Round 4
Levelle, Braelex, Relan, Bats, Talaay, Vuloo, Andel, Aidon
The bats continue to advance and at about 100 feet, Relan and Levelle let fly, the warrior clipping one of the bats slightly in the wing.
Roll 20 updated. I put you all where I assumed you were. If I was wrong, please update. I will ghost Aidon for now, but will not NPC him. We will assume he accompanies you through to the end and I will use him if necessary for story, but wont do anything tactical with him

Vuloo |

Round 4
Vuloo will cast burst of radiance. He will try to place the spell to hit both bats if possible (20' diameter).
damage: 5d4 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 4, 4) = 16

Andel Gessaran |

Andel will use his naturalist ability to identify the weaknesses of the bats for the group.
Knowledge, Nature: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (2) + 10 = 12; probably a fail

Levelle Mahe |

This is the round where our previously readied actions will execute or should we specify new ones?

Relan* |

Relan steps back 5' and fires cold iron two arrows at the already wounded undead bat scoring a solid hit with at least one of the shots.
Masterwork Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 311d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Confirm: 1d20 + 611 ⇒ (18) + 611 = 6292d8 + 6 ⇒ (7, 4) + 6 = 17
Masterwork Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 211d8 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
