Mochtau Sorshen! Round 3

Init: Andel, Relan, Braelex, Vuloo, Mochtau, Levelle

Coughing and sputtering, Andel steps back and fires wide. Next to him, with a couple of opportune strikes, Relan cuts down the second lizard and moves forward to hold his ground.

Braelex and Levelle turn their attention on the strange giant and plug it with a single bolt.

The giant moves out to engage Relan with a roar stepping with an deceptively quick stride, wielding its massive batteleaxe with effortless ease. It roars with rage, fueling its swing with unbridled fury and smashing into the warrior with his initial onslaught.

Levelle clicks and points and sends Talaay flying farther into the room, hoping to eventually have him flank the giant if Relan can hold on.

Meanwhile the elf holds her ground and begins working magic to bring forth other supernatural allies to aid in the fight...

Mochtau Sorshen! Round 4

Init: Andel, Relan, Braelex, Vuloo, Mochtau, Levelle

Andel fires an arrow that's knocked aside by the chaotic melee between Relan and the giant. The warrior himself swings low with his ranseur, but the giant lifts a leg to dodge the blow. Unpeturbed, Relan turns a tight spin bringing the ranseur square into the opposite knee causing the big woman to totter and then topple to the ground. He follows up with a quick gashing stab to her upper thigh.

As Vuloo heals himself, Braelex takes the opportunity to drop a bomb on the upper half of the giant causing her to pat at herself in panic as the flames begin to spread.

Mochtau hauls herself to her feet, absorbing the attack from Relan as she does so and swings hard again, specifically targeting the warrior's weapon, but the wily lorewarden pulls aside in time.

As the giantess stands she leaves herself open and Relan stabs at her.

Andel looses another pair of arrows that can't penetrate the melee. Relan sends the giantess back to the ground and follows up with a pair of vicious strikes that cause her to cry out in pain and rage. Braelex plunks a bolt into the neck of the beast which gushers blood, but surprisingly the resilient giant keeps fighting hooking Relan's leg and pulling him to join her, but she's unable to get him down. She then paws at the warrior in frustration trying to bite his foot as he scrambles away.

Levelle summons an earth elemental and instructs it to move on the giant, focusing its efforts on aiding RElan in his fight. I'm basically just using it for a persistent "aid another"

Levelle has Talaay hold and the hunter lines up another shot of her own to hopefully help the fight end...

but the arrow skitters across the stones from the shallow shot.

Relan gathers himself and assesses his wounds before joining in the search of the place. He is down 27 hp. Can I assume he will heal 5/round until he is down only 2? She hit hard, I can tell you that. he notes looking at the massive wound that is slowly closing.

Levelle moves forward, responding to Relan with a simple hand to the shoulder and a nod. Moving on from that Levelle looks around the room...

The giantess carries a large battleaxe and wears a large set of hide armor.

There are 5 remaining chests scattered around the throne. Four of the treasure chests are filled with rotting meat and decay—remnants from Mochtau’s meals. The fifth contains the same, along with 20 tourmalines worth 2,000 gp in all.

Searching the throne, the party finds an inscription in Thassilonian on a platinum plate that reads as follows:

May she reign unchallenged forever.”

Levelle motions to the kite to come to her and then commands it to scout.

Relan spends the time to strip the giant of her hide armor before asking if either it or the axe are enchanted. Too big to easily use but these still might fetch a nice sum if they are enchanted/


Levelle sends Talaay out and watches from the bird's eyes.

Lake of Longing

The tunnel through the cavern opens up beyond where the skavelings were hooked to the ceiling into a massive cavern. The ceiling peaks nearly forty feet overhead an enormous underground lake. Phosphorescent lichen and fungus cling to the stalactites above, reflected by the waters below to make the walls of the cave dance with a pearlescent shimmer.

Bright Grotto

Talaay whirls about the lake and sees the waves lapping against the a sandy beach to the east. Large amounts of lichen on this cave’s walls glow with intense vibrancy, providing brilliant illumination to the cave and making the sandy beach along the lakeshore glitter. Two rowboats are beached on this sandy shore. Two dry tunnels head off to the east, while to the west the waters of the lake widen into a much larger cavern.

Rough Hewn Cavern

Behind the secret door, the cave’s walls are rough-hewn and embers of a large fire burn dimly, with an iron pot and other cooking implements sitting beside it. A narrow natural chimney extends through the roof twenty feet overhead. On the east wall stands a huge red panel covered with images, while to the west lean several crudely made fishing poles and nets. Similar to the other red panels, this one has images that depict Sorshen in dalliances with attractive humanoids.

Corpses in Seawater

This cave is flooded with water, in which bob three bloated corpses, naked and facedown. They are all human women with scarred faces.

Manacled Prisoners

This cavern is partially flooded with seawater. A watery channel leads to the east and another to the west, while a dry tunnel leads northeast. A narrow beach lies to the south

A pair of bodies lie upon the small beach to the south. Each is manacled hand and foot and wearing only underclothes—both bodies have scarred faces and are recently dead

Whipping Post

Water fills the majority of this cavern, although an oval rock island protrudes from the middle of the water. A single stone post extends from the middle of the island, while watery tunnels lead east and west. A dry tunnel leads up to the northeast.

A woman with a scarred face and wearing nothing but her undergarments is bound to the post on the island by lengths of seaweed. Numerous fresh wounds bleed on her unconscious body, while looming over her, poking at her body with the butt of a spear, is a hunch-backed humanoid woman with wet green skin, dripping white hair, and bulging orange eyes. Four strange creatures caper and dance at her feet—wolfheaded, lobster-clawed little men.

She spies you as you approach, cackling with glee, "“Oh, oh! New playmates here for Daefu to toy with! Sorshen is good to Daefu! Sorshen loves Daefu as Daefu loves her! One? Two? Three? How many more playmates come to Daefu? More sweet, pink f lesh to poke and prod, more mouths to sing songs of agony, all because Daefu is loved by Sorshen. She sent you to me, yes? Sorshen loves Daefu because Daefu is loyal and Daefu is cruel and Daefu does her will eagerly. Who starts this? Who wants the first kiss from Daefu? Be patient, new flesh, all will get a turn!”

The creature is a sea hag, monstrous sea witches, these creatures possess terrifying features that few dare look upon. Reveling in discord, the foul creatures drag sailors to watery graves and torment the peoples of the oceans with wicked promises.

Her companions are fuath gremlins. Drowners of sailors and sinkers of ships, a fuath (FOO-ah) is a wicked gremlin found in the sea. It climbs aboard ships in the dead of night to sever ropes, bore holes in barrels, soil provisions, and murder any hapless crew it puts to sleep or catches alone. It delights in drowning creatures by surrounding them with magically thickened water, cackling with wicked glee as its victims claw desperately for the air only inches from their mouths. A fuath wears seaweed, shells, and coral like other creatures wear armor, clothing and jewelry.
