Earthbreakers.

I am really excited about the Core Campaign and as I was making my new PC it dawned on me no more Earthbreakers. Any small thing you're going to miss in Core? (Or hope shows up on a Chronicle?)

3/5

The Rake rogue archetype, the Offensive Defense talent, the Gang Up feat, the Menacing weapon enhancement, and the Ultimate Combat monk weapons.

Nothing. I have enough options in Core to deal with.

Ooh, that one is a biggie and is liable to make life for non spellcasters significantly more painful. I have seen multiple encounters effectively neutralised with this one spell. Pretty much anything with fire elementals, mephitis, magma elementals etc.

Dark Archive 3/5 5/5

Pretty much every non core class to some degree or another. And the Archetypes that inject new flavor and life into classes.

Stuff like Bolt Ace, Flying Blade, and the Brawler (or as others might suggest, Sacred Fist) pack some muscle and much needed love onto combat styles that would otherwise range from "suboptimal" to "Mechanically improbable" in Core PF.

Grand Lodge 4/5 5/55/5 ***

Why miss anything? Its not like CORE is taking options away. NORM is still here and I suspect will continue to be the dominate campaign.

OTOH, when I do play CORE, I will certainly miss the huge array of traits you can select to really customize your character's background.

I wonder if there's any way to drop some cash on a pure-fluff piece of land within Core...

Silver Crusade 3/5 *** Venture-Captain, North Carolina—Asheville

You can do a Core run of Emerald Spire, but you're dropping prestige instead of cash.

Also, it's the River Kingdoms, so someone will most likely take it from you shortly thereafter.

Maybe we can petition to have the vanities from the Society Field Guide and the Society Primer legalized?

Well, dull grey ioun stones are core for 25gp, and one continual flame spell can last between scenarios for a cost of 50gp material (as long as someone can cast it), or you can pay for a wizard to cast it (60gp +the 50gp component)

So still an option really.

Grand Lodge 5/5

Pathfinder's kit. Made a core character and I was quite annoyed to have to go down the list buying all that stuff individually.

Is there a price break for the kits then?

I think there are on a couple of them, but mostly they're just a convenience thing.

I would rather see an new, updated one. With details about the "new" factions, and vanities that reflect them (instead of say being a Hellknight in Dark Archive).

That said, I would settle for the Field Guide in Core.

Ive always hated them because it implies people arnt capable of making a choice but I guess I will kinda miss them because Im so used to them.

Retraining from Ultimate Campaigns!

Alas, this is not so. The core rulebook doesn't list prices for dull grey ioun stones, they don't get their own entry anywhere. The 25gp price comes from non-core.

The core rulebook mentions they exist in a footnote to the limited use stones, but doesn't contemplate players actually wanting one.

The blog post introducing the core campaign states:

Core Campaign Blog Post wrote:
Retraining may be utilized as the rules currently allow, but only when a PC retrains to take an option from one of the allowed Core Campaign resources.

Which I take to mean that retraining from Ultimate Campaign is allowed in the core campaign. I could easily be wrong, however.
