I am going to piggy back off that great idea for a city where tons of people are going to take part in the downtime fun. My concept is a fair bit different.
In the Wrath of the Righteous AP there lies within a tale of two cities. This is a 100% downtime spin on the AP.
Group 1 & Group 2 will be competing against each other to rebuild Kenebres for Horgus Gwerm who owns 50% of what was not destroyed in Book One.
Groups 3 & 4 will be competing against each other to rebuild Dresden for Horgus Gwerm, The Treasurer of Dresden and the 5th Crusade.
All Characters to be built with a 20 point buy
1:1 ratio for the point buy
20 max before racial bonus
22 max after racial bonus
Any Race, that can survive within the LG "racist" cities ie: tieflings will be killed on sight generally.
1 Trait (NO Adventure Path Traits.
1 disadvantage if you want a 2nd trait
Any NPC class Level 5
3pp IS cool. so is a 15point build your own race.
All players regardless of level will have 4000gold worth of Downtime Capital/Teams/Rooms or Gear/items however you want to spend you 4k, if you can find traits that add to starting gold you may take them.
Recruitment is starting with Players from Jason's game, then my haven and wrath game and anyone else im playing with right now or was on a table that died.
Klokk, just so I am perfectly clear on this, I have a few questions:
(1) "Any NPC class Level 5" - Does that mean that we are 5th level in NPC class only (adept, commoner, aristocrat, expert)?
(2) "All players regardless of level will have 4000gold" - Does that mean that we are 1st level unless we want to take 5 levels of an NPC class?
(3) "This is a 100% downtime spin on the AP" - Does that mean that it will be a heavy roleplaying within the downtime rules, no RP just downtime playing, or a mixture of combat/RP/downtime rules?

1 - You would start as an NPC(adept/commoner/aristocrat/expert/3pp fromd the srd 5th however you want to do. This is reflecting your background of whatever happened before Horgus recruits you.
After the adventure starts.
You will be able to gain any Player Class(fighter/wiz etc)once you have enough XP to reach 6th level @ FAST Advancment.
2 - I was initially going to do 3rd level for Kenabres or 7th for Dresden I forgot to take that out when I just made it 5th for both.
3 - I really like how my boss does it here in his Campaign Maybe with a bit more of the flavor text. Kinda a mix of RP+Downtime.
The short term goal is to be the first group gain 100 Recovery Points.
Each of the teams in the two cities will be aware of each other and allied with a team in the other city. You may trade supplies between the two cities.. its a caravan that could be attacked, so would need drivers/guards/soldiers/ect to gets capital from city to city.
Combat TBH. it will not be a focus.
If team A wants to attack team C. OK
If both teams in dresden wanna team up OK.
No same party/Team backstabbing. I will throw the GM lightning bolt of death for betraying your own party and kick you out of any other game I am DMing.
This campaign is going to be different. Thats what the Real AP is for. So much blood and gore. I killed 8 players in that AP in one encounter with some insane rolls.

I have guys at my RL table that are bloody trolls and try to PK the rest of us. Ive been dealing with that for 20 years. Im sick of it. I wont put up it in any of my games. A Table or party or team is not just a tool to get you better loot. Your life depends on them trusting you.
If the guys didn't grow our medicine.. they wouldn't be allowed to even come to the table. They save our 12 man table a lot of money:)

cept a tiny bit short in the point buy.. I only count 78points in your stats, should be 80 total before the racial bonus.. but side from that yes.
the reason for the higher true buy inthis case is each point you pass skill check breaks down to. 0.14GP gained. I don't want it to be super slow.
result of Skill check / 7 = gold per day if working every day

I'm a bit confused. Dylan is a 20 pt buy. I don't mind bumping his stats but where do the 78 of 80 points come from?

Its a modified point buy.
20 points @ a true 1:1 cost, starting at 10 points in each.
Its just how I do the point buy 1:1 ratio, its how ive done it since the 90's. it does give slightly more powerful characters, but math is easier and same places true for the npcs/monsters. Though generally I start the buy at 8, not 10 points. But I was intending on trying a weird concept of Powerful NPC's lords/ladies.
For Dylan
STR 10 = 0 points
DEX 14 = 4 points
CON 12 = 2 points
INT 14 = 4 points
WIS 10 = 0 points
CHA 18 = 8 points
Total 78 = 18 points
20 - 18 = 02 points remaining

He looks good, HPs are low. They are always maxed in my games.
There is another downtime campaign that had interest posted before this idea. I am giving that DM until later today to respond to the thread before I make an official recruitment thread for this, because I am going to everyone that's posted here or there.. that should account for almost everyone interested + have a few slots open.
So when I post the actual recruitment thread, I will PM everyone that was interested in this or that other city thread to get everyone into the same place that actually wants to play a downtime game.
Okay, I'll gladly take an extra 10 HP. :-) Looking forward to the actual campaign.
