Vic, were the retail demo kits printed by drivethru. If so, I can say that as a sleever I didn't notice the back color difference till I did a side by side comparison. The size difference in sleeves is completely unnoticeable to anyone I have played with. As someone that plays with customers and other people that are less likely to be forgiving of minor card text issues, I want the professionally printed option.

I would vote for printed cards and would rather have all corrections even if it cost more. I would also love to have the PDF in the meantime to use until the cards can be ordered. If the PDF is kept up to date as needed corrections are found, it would be a great way to keep our game up to date until the physical cards are ready for us to order.
Any ETA on the PDF?

This would also be a good way to double check and make sure all the correction are accounted for before sending them to the printers.

Without having read any other message on this thread I would say option #2. Every game player is different and while some people do not see a need to sleeve a game of this type, I do. Sleeving is labor of love and I have lovingly sleeves the entire game. I like how the sleeved cards feel. Why do I bring his up? Well, if I have to purchase reprinted cards with the correct text that are slightly different due to the card cutter, it won't matter since the card sleeves are all the same size (as long s the cut is not LARGER, then I would have trouble sleeving them!
Many of you have asked about the possibility of getting fixes for cards that have been changed via resolutions from the FAQ; it's something I've been looking into for a while.
First of all, I'd like to address the scope. As of this moment, there are 23 cards that have had changes issued, and I've seen that that volume is causing some people to think there are "a ton of errors" in the set. To be fair, a lot of this is due to my policy of saying that if something is worthy of a FAQ, it's worthy of a change; some of the changes issued have literally zero game effect, and almost all of the cards work just fine as they are; they're issues that many publishers would simply issue a FAQ entry for and never contemplate changing the wording of an actual card for, but I want to do better than that.
Here's a summary of the scale of the issues helpfully compiled by Scribbling Rambler:
Scribbling Rambler wrote:
1/ Detect Magic has a game affecting misprint on it.
2/ The Sandpoint Cathedral and Town Square have the correct information, but in a non-standard order.
3/ Bruthazmus, the +1 Bastard Sword, and the +1 Warhammer are each missing a trait.
4/ Scorching Ray erroneously has the Basic Trait.
5/ Speed is missing a Divine check.
6/ The Sihedron Medallion is mislabeled as to which set it came from.
7/ Other cards could be worded more clearly.IMO, only 1, 3, & 5 actually affect gameplay.
(I mention this not to downplay the issue, but because there's an economic issue associated with it, which I'll get to later, so just keep that in mind.)
Okay, so, on to what we can do about it.
Given the scope, it's just not feasible to reprint these cards at either of the two card printers we use; their minimum press run requirements make the expense simply unjustifiable.
I've been focusing on the possibility of having DriveThru Cards sell them as print-on-demand sets, which would be my preferred solution; I'm comfortable from the samples I've...

Got the game for Christmas. Played it once, and love it but am a little put off on how many cards need errata (as well as how unclear I found rules in the rulebook - and a lot I still find unclear at this point even with the FAQ). Making card replacements available makes me way more likely to continue with the game, and I'm the sort that usually buys one of every expansion and promo of a game if I continue playing it!

Pegasusy13 |

An errata set would be great. I would definitely prefer to have cards the same size, rather than smaller. I would rather pay $2 to get the essential cards replaced.
On the issue of number, would selling blank cards for players to create their own cards be an option? I would definitely purchase blank front cards of the same (or similar) size to be able to design my own cards. Including a batch of blank cards with the replacements would be enticing to me.

I would pay for an errata deck. However, I would really appreciate the .pdf, FAQ and rulebook being updated as rules change.
I would also pay for a promo card collection set, because I don't really have the time to go to conventions and resellers have them at $25/per.
Regardless, the game is awesome. Thanks to your team for putting together a super-fun experience.
I too would like both of the options Vic listed with the print on demand (hopefully though Paizo) and I am all for a promo card deck if that were ever possible :)

I just got a new set of cards for color matching, and I'm now comfortable that DriveThru can do cards that are difficult enough to distinguish from the original. The next step is producing a file they can use (which also means producing the PDF everyone can download). I'm not comfortable committing to a timeline for that yet, but things *are* proceeding.

ABCoLD |

Just got the game all sleeved and am brand new to playing it. I would appreciate the PDF aaand a Print on Demand option. I would pay for erattaed cards.
As an option I would also suggest you offer through DriveThru a set of corrected Blessings of the Gods if you are not considering that for the errata set.
A set of blank cards available for purchase for a low cost would also be appreciated for home brew.
Also a set of four of each Promo card released for Rise of the Runelords would be welcome, of course they could have their base set changed to D instead of P to signify they were from DriveThru's PoD service.

I would absolutely appreciate an errata card deck for purchase. $8 plus shipping sounds a bit on the expensive side for my tastes, but I DO play the heck out of this game so it might be worth it (for example I NEVER remember that we should have banished Ambush until AFTER the game).
However, PLEASE let me second the request above to include some of the previously released Promos in the Errata deck. It drives me a little crazy that my only option for acquiring promos that I would like to have for a game that I love to play (but just learned about a couple of months later than other people) can only be purchased on the secondary market for absolutely ABSURD prices. Promo inclusion would make the errata deck an instant purchase from me. Whatever the resolution, thanks for working hard to fix these problems!

Steve Geddes |

I'm guessing that would defeat the idea of having promo cards in the first place if you can just obtain them via a 'booster pack.'
Yeah, this is one of the consequences of Paizo's subscription model. They are extremely wary of devaluing the subscriptions after the fact. Many have commented that the definite inclusion of free promos is pretty much the sole advantage of subscribing (given so many places where you can get the game cheaper, including shipping costs).
If people sign up for a Paizo subscription on that basis (wearing the higher shipping costs), then it turns out they can pick up all the benefits later it might really undermine future subscription options.
This is a problem all of us experience who werent there at the very beginning. Obviously, the later you hear about Paizo products, the worse it is. It nonetheless ensures that the answer to "when should I subscribe" is generally "now" - which is pretty important to them.

scomatt9 |

Yes, I absolutely understand the reasons for not rereleasing the promos. But wishful thinking and polite requests don't tend to hurt in my experience.
All of that having been said, their subscription model bothers me as it omits the role of the FLGS. For that reason, I'm canceling my subscription, and I'll be buying future packs from my FLGS who can get all of the same promos from their distributor.

They certainly arent going to know what you want if you dont say it, no.
It's a shame there isnt some magic solution. Personally, I feel like some kind of delay might be acceptable (like releasing the RotRL promos as a separate expansion deck once the series is a few base sets down the track or something). Perhaps then subscribers wouldnt feel done out of their perks (since that version of the game will be old news anyhow), yet completionists who were late to the party could still get everything.

mlvanbie |

How about a promo character class for three cards. Anyone want to play a goblin?
Or a new errata-themed Loot promo and a scenario where we can obtain it?
Other things like Mike's Christmas gift solo scenario can also round out the card set to standard deck size.
There are lots of ways to add value to the errata deck. Also, pre-printed copies could be added to subscriptions to coincide with a new deck so that there won't be any shipping costs (another bonus for subscribers).

I ended up making this over the weekend. If you sleeve your cards, it seems to work great. You just cut out each box, slide it into the sleeve in front of the card and you are good to go.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/49eohxhh3i7gb66/Card_Errata_Drop-ins_For_Sleeves_ v1.1.pdf
I've posted them on BGG as well, and I don't plan to update this dropbox copy going forward, so if you like it and you want it when I do update it, you'll have to get it from BGG. Here is the link to it there:
http://boardgamegeek.com/filepage/99188/card-errata-drop-ins-for-sleeves
I somehow ended up with the boxes being slightly taller than I planned, so I'm going to work on adjusting them.
I still plan to buy the reprinted cards when available, as I'd rather have that than this, but for now this seems to be working quite well.
(Vic: I sent you a PM over the weekend because I was a bit unsure if this was ok for me to make and distribute. It contains no artwork or logos, just the "Powers" and "Recharge" on all the boons and banes that are in the FAQ. I hadn't heard back from you, but I in no way expected to by now. I know you guys had some electrical issues, and that the office was closed on Monday, and that you have a job besides answer my PMs. But after thinking it over I'm pretty sure this is ok, since I'm just using the words already on the website. So I thought I'd go ahead and share it. If it isn't, please just let me know and I will gladly remove it from dropbox and bgg. I in no way intend to violate any copyrights. I'm just trying to be helpful if I can.)

How about a sticker sheet. Peel the stickers off and stick them to the affected cards.

That's a brilliant idea. Many games use sticker labels for their foreign language conversions. Having all these fit on an Avery label template that you could pick up at your local office store and print yourself would be fairly inexpensive.

I ended up making this over the weekend......
Thanks, I printed them out and double checked for errors, the text in the descriptions are all right but Mirror Image and a few others had the wrong name above it. Wasn't hard to sort out what you meant but otherwise great work and I appreciate the time you put into that

Hawkmoon269 |

Yeah. I missed a word or two in some of them. And they were slightly too tall when cut out (not sure how I messed that up). If you go to the link for BGG, I submitted a version 2.0. It hasn't been approved yet, but when it is it should be better. I included the location powers that were changed too. But if you see anything else send me a PM or post on the file's thread and I'll get it fixed.

We've got the technical issues solved, but we still have to work out some money stuff (because we don't actually want any money from these sales, their standard consignment contract would cause them to take a loss, and nobody wants that). We also still need to fit making the files into our production schedule. So still a few steps left, but they are final steps now!

Hawkmoon269 |

They will be the same size as the second printing. I believe that was the only option available when Paizo began working on this project.
