Thanks to Vic and everyone at Paizo for even attempting to print replacement cards. I don't believe they're necessary, but I will definitely buy an errata deck.
Thanks again guys, outstanding service once again.
Cheers ray

Hi everyone, Ray here from Australia.
Here to present an alternative view to some of those present. As a long time buyer of board games, living in Australia can be hard as we are so far away from everywhere else, particularly the US. Usually a long wait after many other countries receive their products is par for the course down under, despite the fact there is a reasonable amount of buyers and gamers.
In October I was pleasantly surprised how quickly I was able to purchase AP2 (Late October) from my local distributor Good Games Online. Thank you Mike, Vic and all at Paizo for being the fastest distributor that I,ve encountered. I realise the US is your main market as it is with all gaming companies, but thank you for giving excellent service to the 51st state.
We are all in your humble debt.
All US subscribers, be a little patient, and you,ll duelling ogres shortly. Hopefully we in Oz won't be long after.
Cheers Ray

I'm being pedantic.

Lets draw a line under this thread and move on.

Thanks everyone.

Hi I cannot find where it says this. On p.10 of the Rulebook for Banish, it says;

Banish: put it back in the box, shuffling it in with the other cards of the same type (thus losing it for good).

As I said common sense suggests it's from your hand but I've yet to have anyone show me where it specifically states this, therefore the rule technically is up for dispute.

I'll admit I'm not technical and play within the spirit of the rules as Mike has suggested. However there are other players that I know of that could exploit this omission.

Can someone quote where this is said either from rulebook or FAQ to put this silly argument to rest.

Cheers Ray

Cheers,

I defer to common sense and will return to the game (although I think the rules should be specific about this).

I think Merisiel has gonna have to come into town, climb the clock and sacrifice her pet sabre toothed tiger to the gods, (when can she find where she put her?!!)

Thanks everyone!

Hi Ray here,
A quick rules clarification. I have just finished the deck in the Shadow Clock location, but I have no ally in my hand to banish, which is the requirement to close it. Can I banish an ally that I have in my discard pile or do I have to wait for an ally to reappear in my hand or move another character over and wait for the same occurrence to close it?

Hi ray here,
Without death or the threat of it at some point, the game loses tension which is the crucial element of RPG and strategy games. There needs to be your life at stake. You're an adventurer in a world of monsters! If you want avoid death play Monopoly-you only risk bankruptcy.
Just a thought.
Cheers Ray

Hi Ray here,
While I agree with the sentiments of the previous posts, I still believe that your imagination can re create any odd scenario.
For example, snakes can be found in houses that border on wilderness areas that are in the real world, and no doubt Sandpoint lies on the edge of the wild.
Perhaps the Sabre-Toothed Tiger escaped the local zoo or was let out by those sneaky goblins.
As for the bunyip, all you have to do is imagine that it is kept as a pet in an old fashioned pond in the central gardens at the Town square by Mayor Kendra, who is beginning to lose her marbles amid the recent chaotic events that have plagued her little town.
Any situation can be explained, given some imagination and thought. That's the beauty of fantasy. I think the randomness also lends a little humour to the game. A crucial element of the fun of RPG's and can open up questions such as Why was the Monster in the Closet at the guard house by the city gate?
It doesn't have to be real guys. We're in a fantasy world where anything goes.
Just some thoughts. Cheers Ray

Hi Ray here,

This isn't a request for a new theme but an addition to the rules.

What about a limited spend at the shop at the end of each scenario.

Characters could acquire smaller loot cards titled gold coins of various amounts which can be put into location decks or a certain amount of gold could be awarded for the closing of each location with amounts depending on the location type.

When characters complete a scenario (not if they run out of time),they get to draw 3 random boons of each type which will be for sale at the shop that day.

Basic Boons will be cheaper with elite boons more expensive etc. Allies can be hired at local tavernetc

This may help characters build up just a little faster.

What does everyone think? Please pick holes.

Cheers Ray from Down Under.

Hi Ray here,
What wonderful news! I love how the AP's will be released at a faster rate. Anyone who is complaining about this, just don't buy them this frequently. Customers allover BGG and Paizo's site have been begging for this. When Paizo acquiesces, what do some people do? Complain. You can't please everyone guys.

Not having any knowledge about pathfinder, the theme sounds awesome! Pirates and sharks! Hope there's big sea monsters, war galleys and sunken treasure!

Aye Aye mateys!

By the way, is there any chance Hook Mountain massacre will reach Australia prior to Christmas? Loving Skinsaw too.

Wow! What a game!

ray here,
I must say Mike I have been extremely impressed with you as a designer. I have never seen someone attend to their fans and customers like you have with this game. Not only should you be proud of your wonderful game but the effort you put in to help players and discuss rules is way above and beyond! You must average 2 hours sleep a day! Thanks for your reply. About to take on Skinsaw with Merisiel and Kyra.Wish me luck against the damned!
Cheers mate!

Hi Ray here from Oz,
I have found THE GAME! I'm a veteran gamer, not the best player around but I first played D & D in 1985, Final Fantasy books in 1984 and board games around the same time. I've played and own stacks of games, many of the classics such as Risk, War Of the Ring, Twilight Imperium, Axis and Allies, Fortress America, Mage Wars, Talisman, Memoir 44, Battlelore, Summoner Wars, Shogun etc so I have a little experience in these fields. I've also played many card games such as Magic the Gathering and Lord of the Rings LCG.

Pathfinder the Adventure Card Game will stand proudly among them. I'm addicted. While the rules are simple enough and I have won some games easily, I have died numerous times and ran out of time even more. I do like the Wandering Monster Variant and I will adopt this when I play stronger, fighter types.

I've taken Seelah and Lem on a campaign and it took me 5 goes to succeed at the very first scenario. As my characters grew I began to find it easier but when Seelah slipped and I restarted her character, the win-loss ratio has been 50-50. I love this game. I haven't found one so addictive in such a long time and like so many other fans I can't pinpoint exactly why.

I've also played with my daughters one of which (my teenager believe it or not!) is also addicted despite this technological brain numbing age. This game has drawn her away from I-pad and Facebook-a true tribute to you Mike!

Sure, it has small issues such as with print on some cards but I feel those who complain about the rules are getting too bogged down in complexities rather than enjoying the spirit of the game. I haven't been so addicted to a game since Summoner Wars which is struggled to get game time

It is a quick and simplified version of D&D and while the RPG aspect can never replace the iconic game, you can play more often and create a lesser but still a fantasy experience. It also has the humour of Talisman (like when Seelah died in combat to a goblin with four dice! Poor planning as well I know) without investing 4 hours. It has a variety of characters which you can build up, monsters to beat and you get to roll dice! I can play solo after work while watching TV and a beer. Need I say more?

Keep it coming Mike and Paizo! PS. I also loved that we down here in Oz we didn't have to wait months after the US to get our hands on it. I bought Skinsaw off the shelf at end of October. Outstanding service. Keep this game coming for years to come, I promise that I won't get bored! Fantastic Paizo!
