Elf Arcanist 4

J'Larky awaits with the power of goodness and light infusing him body and soul.

Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

As am I.

Male Human Fighter 6, Cavalier 1

Arch First Cavalry Phalanx, reporting for duty.

*sigh* Here we go again, boys.

Male Human Barbarian 2, Cavalier 1, Fighter 4

I've got your flank.

Male Human Fighter 4, Cavalier 1, Paladin 2

Sergeant Orphax, 1st Arch Cavalry Phalanx, reporting in, Sir. The boys and I are ready and waiting.

That's six. Enough, I think. You can expect first post later today.

Can you link the new thread here when you start it?

Dark Archive

The game thread is here.

Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

Couple quick questions

1) How does a charging creature get to make a full attack?
2)Shouldn't the warrior's three's attacks resolve first since they were waiting for the lowest of the three initiatives but still higher than the giant's

1) The giant was not charging in the game rules sense of the word. I used "charge" and "rush" as a way to describe his walk.

2) Their attacks will resolve before the giant's, but they do not have a chance of killing him in the first round, so I posted his attacks when I could since my internet is kinda buggy today and yesterday.

I was wondering about this exact stuff myself. Good to know, thanks.

Hyperactive Lazypants Bard 2

I'm not going to be able to do Allich's post until later tonight - things are crazy at work right now. If the other two want to go ahead, I'll catch up in a few hours.

Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

On a side note also chsnged Mikka's appearance in her profile and her pic.

Well, his second attack missed so it's a bit moot, but I think Mikka's right. Unless the giant has some strange means of getting a second attack after moving, it shouldn't have gotten it.

By the way, unless otherwise stated, the SOP for the Phalanx is going to be to delay action until the initiative of the lowest of the three, and then all act simultaneously.

Male Human Fighter 4, Cavalier 1, Paladin 2

Meant to ask this before, but do our shields have the standard -2 penalty to attack?

It's described as being from the shield's encumbrance, but our shields are more like modern ballistic riot shields and don't actually weigh very much.

Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

You mean when attacking with the shield?

Yeah. Well, when attacking with another weapon and wielding the shield anyway. Normally, tower shields give you a -2 attack penalty. Ours are not normal tower shields, so I was asking if the penalty still applies.

I'd say it probably would. Lighter it may be, but it's still more or less a door you're holding in one hand. It gets in the way. Still, Nightflier's call.

male Dorn Barbarian 2, Spiritual Channeler 2

Having used a riot shield in a few occasions, I can honestly say that it really doesn't get in your way at all. Actually, it makes hitting your target easier because you can use it to set up your target, (this is referred to as "blocking open") and don't have to worry nearly so much about your own safety.

I can see it if it weighed 50 pounds, but ours don't. They're closer to Plexiglass than anything else.

Male Human Barbarian 2, Cavalier 1, Fighter 4

I think that was everyones actions for the round.

Dark Archive

The shields are made of glass, essentially. They are heavy, but not as regular shields most certainly.

Male Human Fighter 4, Cavalier 1, Paladin 2

So do they have the usual attack penalty? If so, is there any way we could have gotten rid of it, magical or otherwise?

Male Human Fighter 6, Cavalier 1

I'm a touch confused about who oughta be posting IC at the moment. Did we skip Rasina, and then me and Herac?

More to the point, should I just post my action now, or wait for something?

Female Human Mooncaller Druid 4

I say just post and the order of events will be sorted later.

Dark Archive

Yeah, like Mark said. That's what we do in Midnight. Oh, and Viscount, have you received my mail?

Hyperactive Lazypants Bard 2

Yeah, sorry, I got it a day or so ago. Replied now, I was just pondering a bit.

Elf Arcanist 4

Wow. Just realized that I hadn't posted J'Larky's background. I know I wrote it and thought I posted it, but don't see it. I'll have to find it and post it again. It's on my desktop at home, so probably be tomorrow.

Male Daytona 500 DM / 12

Hey everybody. Just chatted with Nightflier, and he's having difficulty logging into Paizo. Be patient...he's working on it...provider issues.

Dark Archive

Guys, I had some issues with my ISP, but that's all over now. Christmas is in two days, so I propose that we continue with the game when it passes. Thoughts?

Hyperactive Lazypants Bard 2

Sounds like a solid plan to me.

Hyperactive Lazypants Bard 2

With the advent of the new year, does this game continue on as well?

Male Black Blood Dwarf Fighter 5

Nightflier says:"I am posting this from my phone, so I'll be short. My provider promised me that I'll get full internet access back first thing Monday morning, so I'll resume all of my games then. I would be very grateful if someone could repost this to my other game threads. "

Dark Archive

Guys, I've been trying to put this off as long as I could, but now I have no choice: The company I work for let go a half of it's people yesterday. I was not one of them, but this move means that my job got a lot harder. I'll have to work longer hours - even longer than I've been so far - and that means 12 hour work days, essentially. I'll most certainly not be able to run pbps, so I have decided to put all of my games, except Midnight, on pause. I really can't say at the moment how long the pause will last, but it seems that it will last for two months at least. I fully plan to return to this and other games I've been running or preparing.

I am truly sorry for inconveniencing you all. This economy has been a b@!@! so far and I really have to work more in order to keep my job. I really hate when RL interferes with my gaming, but there it is. I do hope that you understand and that you'll return to the game when I once again have the time to run it.

Thank you all.

Don't worry about it, these things happen. I hope me and the guys are paying proper attention when you do come back to it, I'd love to run these characters some more.
