Randy Price wrote:I am curious if it would be possible to play Revenge of the Runelords with an evil party intent on usurping Xanderghul's power and resurrecting the ancient legacy of the last incarnation of Runelords to take over New Thassilon and bring about a new age of (evil) Thassilon dominance over Golarion?
If so, the players could portray four Runelord aspirants (wizards of Sloth, Gluttony, Greed, and Wrath) who are accompanied by two martial/rogue/cleric allies.
As possilbe as it is to play devil worshiping Thrune agents in Hell's Rebels, anti-pirate paladins in Skull & Shackles, human-hating goblin raiders in Rise of the Runelords, or worsihpers of Deskari in Wrath of the Righteous.
It can be done, but it's not the point of the adventure path, and you're setting your GM up for a LOT of work to rebuild, rework, and in some cases rewrite extensive sections of the story... almost to the extent that your GM might be better off using this Adventure Path as reference for stats, maps, and background lore and doing an entirely different campaign for your group.
You can also paint a house with a hammer instead of a paintbrush, but it's not gonna work as well and will take a LOT more work and has a real strong risk of ending up being frustrating and disappointing... but if you pull it off, you have some fun bragging rights and a cool story to tell! :-P
OK, thanks, James.
Duly noted.

He did. And then he went into a bit more detail why it's not that much of a good idea to change the theme of the campaign, unless you are the GM and are willing to put in the work (which is a lot).

In any event, Nocticula is very much one of my creations and additions to the lore, from her initial version as a demon lord to her current version as a Goddess, and as a result I've got a lot invested in making sure how she's presented in various books matches up. The writer of the Nocticula article had access to the article from Divine Mysteries as well. There ARE times when we have miscommunications between departments (despite how hard we work at minimizing them, they crop up now and then—that'll happen when you have dozens of folks working in a shared world), but in this case, I've been pretty involved in guiding and developing Nocticula's lore so that should all be pretty seamless.
What I still find humurous is that I ran Wrath of the Righteous for my group well before Return came out. During the Wrath campaign, the (at the time) Paladin of Sarenrae actively worked to demonstrate another path for the Demon Lord (Lady?) to follow. The rogue/assassin also actively set out to court her. Not seduce, but court. Both efforts ultimately were successful.
When the details of Return of the Runelords and Nocticula's "conversion" to the Redeemer Queen came out, it's canon in our campaigns that it was due to the efforts of the Wrath party. She surrendered her Assassin domain to her concubine who is now the head of a John Wick style assassin's guild in the Midnight Isles.

I canonized Ember from the game in my setting, which is working really fun cause the paladin is grappling with the fact he helped ascend a new divinity and as her first true believer needs some pointers.
Also I just realized that the Trinity Star is mentioned several times before in connection with Opir Eightfingers, so I am curious to see if he shows up at all.

Great way to incorporate it into your campaign!
And for this second part, insert eyeball emoji.

No, no, Prince Maleus, I think your excitement is warranted. I have been looking forward to this for so long, plus my home campaign is just about to reach Xin-Shalast to visit Sorshen (canonically about a month before this AP starts) so this gives me perfect time to flesh her out and subconsciously influence them to let me run Revenge for them.

Timewracked - You are from another time
Warshard Warrior - You tap into the power of a Warshard

I'm delighted to have received my book, and I'd like to inquire about a question regarding this passage.
This is from Avenging runelord dedication,“When your proficiency for simple weapons and any that are advanced weapons as martial weapons.”,I
just want to know what it mean?

Familiarity is usually worded this way:
You gain access to all uncommon weapons with the dwarf trait. You have familiarity with weapons with the dwarf trait plus the battle axe, pick, and warhammer—for the purposes of proficiency, you treat any of these that are martial weapons as simple weapons and any that are advanced weapons as martial weapons.
I think there has been a typo in the Avenging Runelord dedication. It should extremely likely read as what I bolded above.

Any Mythic thing useful for a Kineticist ?
If you mean directly affecting kineticist impulses, no. If you mean options that kineticists may find useful, yes.

ornathopter wrote:Is the Timewracked mythic destiny good for martials?Short (spoiler-free) answer: Yes.
For those more inclined to the Time Mage archetype and chronomancy, is it also good for casters? Since there are a few Mythic Destinies that play to both, hoping it can also thread that needle.

Short, spoiler-free answer: there's not a lot of synergy for full casters, but wavecasters could do fairly well with it.

That's a shame, especially considering it ties so cleanly to the background where you're from a populace that, presumably, probably had a lot of spellcasters around.
Ah well, still interested to take a look when it releases and see if there are enough playstyle-agnostic features to at least not be detrimental for a caster to pick up.
