You two trying to gainsay everything is really weak. Who cares?
It’s an interesting discussion (although maybe not right to be in a product discussion forum).
One thing I haven’t seen cited here is Vic’s previous comment that they know these reprints will be profitable - there is no concern about profitability keeping them from collecting APs. Therefore, how rapidly they sell out isn’t actually a relevant statistic. Paizo printed this fully expecting it would sell out and they know they’d sell out a kingmaker AP collection also. It would only really factor into their decisions if a compilation failed to sell strongly.

All I know is while I wasn't...enamored with a part of Book 4, I am overall pleased with this update, especially because they put in more stuff in Castle Scarwall.
Castle Scarwall now has a battle in every room.
While some are pretty cool, it is too much battles overall. There are very few opportunities for making roleplay.
While there are people that like mega-dungeons, everyone i know gets bored to death after a few battles in a row without any social encounter.

I mean, they way I did it was that the encounters were mass encounters :p Because in most cases there wasn't reason why the enemies wouldn't join the fight and I run games in roll20 which makes it easy to track lot of enemies.
(In general, mass combats tends to go somehow faster than if same encounter was split into several ones :p I think its because of stuff like bookkeeping buffs/loot/exp, searching the rooms, rolling iniative once again when gm describes new room again... Etc, lots of small things slowing it down)

I'd definitely recommend getting this AP.
Finishing up a 3-d model of Castle Korvosa for the conclusion of our 2 year home campaign as my players have gotten up to the last chapter.
Making some changes to keep it an urban AP and the finale will occur within the Castle.(plenty of unused space where the last section can fit in).

Finishing up a 3-d model of Castle Korvosa for the conclusion of our 2 year home campaign as my players have gotten up to the last chapter.
Making some changes to keep it an urban AP and the finale will occur within the Castle.(plenty of unused space where the last section can fit in).
That sounds cool, i plan to provide something similiar with Scarwall in part 5 (we just finished book 2 and it took us 2 months per book, 4 months total).
What will you use, Dwarven Forge or something custom-build?
I may try the Wizkids 4D tiles which are coming out in june, but we will probably begin book 5 in may so i might use them for Castle Korvosa top.
Anyway, any pictures or tips would be welcome.
I hope you have fun!

I am making the model out of XPS Insulation foam from the hardware store as well as modpodge and other items to smooth the walls from the cuts. Having some issues cutting through with a heavy duty knife so I ordered a electric hot knife I still have the last two floors to cut.
Here are some pictures. I will post it on the FB PFRPG page with the finished product.

Looking at the PFS Chronicle Fate of Many Things. I see one of the possible cards listed is Books (Idiot). However, the instructions say to record the drawn card, but it also says to put any evil cards back in the desk and draw again until you get a non-evil card. It's poorly written but the implication seems to be that you should keep drawing until you get a non-evil card and record THAT card. If that is true, then the recorded card could never be Books (Idiot), yet it is a card with a boon! Should the boon have been something else?
Analysis of the cards that have boons:
Alignment: 2x LG, 4x NG, 1x CG, 2x LN, 1x TN, 1x CN, 1x NE
Suit: two of each.
If the NE card was actually a typo, then logically shouldn't it be The Foreign Trader (TN, books) to match the overall pattern of distribution that is apparent with all the other cards except The Idiot?

Thank for the link. I works when I click on the link. Yet if one tries keywords such as the name of the AP or even including pocket in the search as sp " Pathfinder Adventure Path: Curse of the Crimson Throne Pocket Edition". I get a link to the hardcover with a message advising " Use fewer keywords or try these instead ".
Just really strange.

Any new news on collected editions, pocket or otherwise, for Legacy of Fire and/or Second Darkness?
The next collected edition will be Kingmaker updated to P2e. There have been no other announcements.

My group is halfway through book 1 and I’m having a blast!
Glad to hear it!
Book 1 is great, although i wish our GM had added the genius idea of a user on this site of playing a few prequel sessions with the PCs being around 13 years old and being members of "Lamm's Lambs"!The first three books have all been extremely fun to take part in as a player, book 4 has become a slog though and i hope we will finish the added "M&M" chapter tonight, so we can beginn book 5 in two weeks.
Keep enjoy the campaign, Jhaeman!
PS: Are you playing or mastering?

GMing. I have a whole new crop of players after finishing a three-year run of RotRL last year. I really enjoy all the political/social drama in Book 1–it really makes Korvosa come alive!
I GMed Rise of the Runelords books 1, 2, 3, 4 & maybe a third of book 5 almost weekly.
Sadly the game broke down after the party narrowly defeated the lich in the Necromancy wing.Do you use the "Guide to Korvosa"?
The city is a vast place with lots of possible additional sidequests.
We have been playing for over a year and may finish the campaign in december/january/february.

We had our 24th session yesterday and the 7th of book 4.
We always play about 7 hours.
Book 1 took us 7 evenings.
Book 2 took us 6 evenings.
Book 3 took us 4 evenings.
Book 4 will take us 8 evenings, because we had to break in the final fight with 9 opponents, 4 still standing.
Here are my thoughts of book 4:
While the original quests are all fine (and a sandbox), the added new 3rd chapter sounds good on paper, but is actually one fight after the other (and a dungeon crawl).
I immensely enjoyed books 1-3, but enjoyed only most of the chapters 1 & 2 parts of book 3, i didn't like chapter 3, which is only added so you advance to level 13.
As some GMs online already suggested, i would either completely leave it out or cut it by half.

There is a map folio. Map of the city, map of Varisia, and 17 pages of interior maps of various places. I don't think they're interactive, though.

Yeah this version has a lot of stuff not in the map folio, (Which I have the physical version of)

A product does not have to sell out to be considered a success.
Dear James Jacobs
I am afraid my eyes are too knackered for pocket book editions....
Really pleased Paizo are bringing out an Abomination Vaults hardback and a Kobold King one....an old classic! Getting both.
It would be fab if CotCT could be done in 2e in hardback. Or something equivalent for Absalom now you have a splat book for it?
In hope

was thinking of buying (it is even pay what you want... but I believe for that work he should receive a fair pay) the conversion on infinte and pdf (yep, I switched to pdf's only) here. but what is holding me back a bit is that the pocket edition is cheaper than the pdf??? What is the actual difference then?
