Salim takes the time on the trip to relax and spends most of the time listening and engaging in little bits of small talk asking servants, or even some of the other members of the expedition where they’re from or what drew them to Kelmarane in the first place. Overall his mood is generally good, but as Katapesh comes into view he grows less happy. Eventually settling into a rather quiet and contemplative attitude. Once in the manor he prefers to take a room on the second floor, near the meditation sands and spends an hour there at night simply staring up at the stars, he would draw in the sand some of the constellations he saw as well. In the morning he’d spend an hour there simply sitting and relaxing watching the sunrise.

I would agree with the above, a little bit of analysis paralysis with high stakes. I’m fine with just going forward with our current plan and getting things rolling.

The s outing patrol is coming from the castle. And I think could very easily be a good starting point for information, gear, etc.
Sorry for the delay, wifi went out for a few days over the weekend on base and I got ill the following day. I woke up feeling better today however. I’ll get to posting later today both characters seem good, please finish up the small bits left and add heading details at to show stats when posting as well while I figure out my plan to slot you in. I had an idea last week while at work but forgot it unfortunately. @gavia I’ll get to you PM later today!
@Adrian: Good luck with the move make sure to drink water it can be draining! @Aiko: sounds good update when possible, I post mostly from mobile so I can understand the annoyance. Will update later tonight, newborn has had a stint in the hospital due to feeding issues. Also a heads up starting June 13th I’ll begin training full time for a deployment. I’m expecting posting will be impossible for a two months or so. I’ll update here with progress and try to update the story as possible. Once deployed I should be able to update a bit more regularly, albeit probably much later in the day due to time differences.

Finally done with moving, should be able to post regularly again. As for my two coppers to the plates. Maybe keeping one or two isn’t a terrible idea, having a possible consecrated area in case we face a mage, more undead, or haunts isn’t a bad idea. (Though if doesn’t work once we leave this place maybe getting rid of them isn’t a bad idea?)
After some conversations in the PM’s and thought the character joining will be….Lyraesal! Again appreciate everyone’s applications, the rest of you are short listed if I need more players. Best of luck in future applications and have a good holiday! Lyraesal please hop in the discussion when you get a chance.
Haven’t heard any word of necessary extensions. So far looking at the below entry’s. Completed submissions
Mechanically finished, backstory in work.
Idea stage, no submission yet.
@Mightypiin looks good! I’d recommend ranged. The Samurai/ninja is planning for reach though some overlap isn’t the end of things. @lyraesal awesome stuff, don’t forget the 3 pieces of info needed. Just wanna help try to keep things coherent story wise. @lapyd Of course! Everyone needs to start somewhere, if you have any questions please ask. I know of a couple guides if you’d also need some guidance on things! Also an update, the slayer that was with them is still with us. So they will have a melee slayer as so front line should be a bit more sound than it was looking.
This sounds interesting I’ll thrown in my 2 coppers. 1) Another night at the Broken Shortsword, This sounds like it can go anywhere in any direction. And that’s exciting 2) The King is (un)Dead, Long live the King. I’m a sucker for undead, I have an investigator that I’d love to play just for this. 3) Stonefall, A name like that just makes me picture a race against doomsday, and that’s pretty dang cool. As for setting, Golarian is very much preferred. I’m not a fan of the forgotten realms.
After some time away from the boards, I’ve been looking to jump in some games and after some looking through my library found something I’d like to run without the commitment for years upon years so soon back. I will be running The Dragon’s Demand. A fun classic module just long enough to get to some fun stuff. If it’s completed and we have a really good consistent core group then maybe we can continue with another printed book, or homebrew. But that’s something far beyond and not the scope of this recruitment. For the recruitment I’ll be taking 4 people.
For backgrounds you may be as wild or as simple as you’d like. All that’s needed is that you all have the following thing. “You are not native to the town of Belhaim in northern Andorran, and you signed on to a Caravan owned by one Silas Gribb that has recently come to town. Upon arrival it’s been seized and he’s been arrested for smuggling.” The reason for why you came along and the purpose is yours to make up. I will end recruitment the 29th of October, and will hope to have the decision of players made by the 1st of Nov hopefully starting play that same day if possible. For expectations I’d like to do a post a day with weekends optional, though more posts are fine and I’ll strive to accommodate them.
Similar idea but went the path of makeshift scrapper. I understand it’s past the deadline technically, but with it being an extenuating circumstance I hope exceptions can be made. Startoad who’s been listening while fiddling away with his station pokes his head up when they start discussing the pact worlds and the eoxians. “I don’t trust these dead longshanks. CIC, is helping now and she doesn’t think we should work with them either!” The wire attached to his console let’s the words “The goblin is correct.” Appear on the screen next to him.

Startoad has been fiddling with the computer at the gunners station seemingly at home configuring and adjusting it, after plugging in he starts to rewire a few things crawling under the console. The goblin pays no mind to the conversation about the eoxian. He does pop his head up at the snack but goes back to work on the his little nook in the bridge as Ed leaves. Been away for the weekend with no service.

Coming back after his failed investigation Renac follows suit after the group to wait till nightfall. He spends some coin on drink, looking forlorn at the coppers that he spends. As they go to make their way back to the docks Renac nods to the Touv woman. "No need to ruin some poor fisherman's lively hood by stealing his boat. I'm sure somebody is willing to give us a ride for some coin." He takes stock of the boats that seem manned and goes toward one that seems big enough and still available.

Startoad twitches hearing this before his eyes go wide and he grabs his bag pulling out two shock grenades, handing one to Ed he smiles wide showing his chaotic and sharp teeth. “Boom”

Renac comes to the manner expecting to have to introduce but seeing the gate open and the grounds deserted he waits for a moment looking around. Eventually seeing nobody here to greet him he heads inside. Seeing the manor he looks on, “It seems the fire wasn’t a total loss, the manor still looks stunning.” After being welcomed in he smiles and nods walking in and standing patiently. Seeing the strange and well armed woman standing and waiting as well he walks over and introduces himself. “A pleasure to meet you Madam. I am Renac, it is my joy to make your acquaintance . Were you summoned by the Lady Vanderboren as well?“
Description: He is a young man taller than normal and built with fair skin. His hair platinum blonde with light blue eyes like the sky. He wears scaled mail that looks a little worse for wear, having scuffs and marks on it. On his hip a large falchion that stands contrast to his armor looking gilded and finely made, a small stone on the pommel. On his chest dangles a small sun, stylized to appear like Pelor. His face has a perpetual grin on it, as if he might have heard a joke a moment ago.

Without waiting for another word the goblin begins to rapidly start pressing buttons and coordinates and other data is input into computers via the cord tethering his noggin to the weapons control systems. All the while yelling into the comms “Die! Gurglekill Die!”

Startoad has no clue about any of the other problems, he just doesn’t wanna die. Startoad once on the ship runs to the bridge looking for a gunner’s seat to man one of the weapons. Pulling the cord from his skull to tap into the weapons system to vaporize the gurglekill if it pops up.

The mechanized goblin continues to rain lasers at the beast, the feminine voice coming from it yells. “This creature will not die, retreat may be the option of survival!” Phasers set to not stun: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 151d10 ⇒ 7 He then turns and starts to run to the ship.

Startoad curls up and cowers for a moment seemingly scared witless of the creature before the blue light in his skull grows brighter and that familiar feminine voice yells out.
Startoad takes a step back and unloads another blast at the creature. laser: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 211d10 ⇒ 3

When everyone is ready startoad looks around offering a smile back at the group, “We be ok. No worries.” then opens the door blaster ready. His head blinks a little as he goes to open the door. Being in the front is illogical and an unnecessary risk. The safest distance by my calculations is most likely to be 7.53 meters from the door. But have at it, I’m sure we will most likely not die.

Startoad as he’s picking up the pieces hears the walls are dangerous and let’s loose what can only be called a goblin screech. He snags his last price of junk metal and scrambled away once again pulling his laser rifle out to defend himself.
