Will add something today, got back from some training and have downtime. Posting will remain intermittent for the time being.

Stan;
I could get the belt and pass the Strength belt off to you. I will try to persuade him to lower his price, and then perhaps we could split the difference?

Alexandr Sergejevich Kerensky |

I am fairly certain that immidiate actions can be used on your turn.
Rulebook:
However, unlike a swift action, an immediate action can be performed at any time—even if it’s not your turn.
The wording is pretty clear that you can use immidiate actions on your own turn (can be performed at any time), it of course consumes your swift action slot if you do so.
Immidiate action is more desireable then swift action, because you can, but not have to, use it out of turn. I wasnt actually aware that it could be used for out of turn movement in this case, could be really useful to get Stannis in position for AoO shenanigians as well.
Less good on Cori because Antipaladin swift actions are pretty contested, still a potent option.
Alex is a Bloodrager, there are some Bloodrager builds that make use of swifts, but these are often primalists, or some specific bloodlines with "activate as a swift" rage powers. The most likely use of swift actions at low levels will be casting cheetah sprint, at higher levels, Raging Brutality is a thing of course.

Hmm. Not sure what I was thinking. I play less and less and therefor remember the rules less. :(

More than fair. I'd owe you in fact as right now the strength belt is yours. But only if you would really prefer it over +4 strength. I think they are about the same price. I am fine just not getting anything if that is all he has.

R'yzzntyg Valignatirnarod |

Hmmmm... wonder how steamy Cori is going to be with that poor merchant. chuckles
There is not much to post for R'yzzntyg, as her activities are day long events of searching the wilderness area around the fortress.
Heads up: I will be going to the wilderness from 6 to 27 August, where I will not have internet access at all during the period.

Stanislav Greymist |

So is this merchant just reacting badly? Did he actually open with his best offer in a negotiation? Do I recall incorrectly being told that we could expect between 60 an 80% depending on how we negotiate?
What am I missing. I'd personally rather just roll a diplomacy and take a percent yielded by that but understood we had been encouraged to haggle?

DireMerc |

I had mentioned that Freetown was a place where you weren't likely to get very good prices. After Cori's "Encouragement" he really did open with close to his best offer. What you were doing was kinda like being the guy on pawn star that has the expert come in and says "This item would probably sell at auction for like 100 000$" and then the guy looks to the pawnshop owner and says I want 100 000$ for it then the pawn shop owner says 60 000$ and the owner of the item says 95 000$.
Obviously, the pawn shop owner isn't going to take that deal.
The situation is also being affected by the fact that the town is being pressured/extorted to raise money by the clef heads so the merchants are being pressured to try and make as much money as possible on each deal.
Hope that clears it up.

Stanislav Greymist |

Can I get a reading on the items requested from back at the tower?
Do we need to RP searching for those things? Lets get the game rolling again. :)

Hmm. I cannot find where we leveled up to 5 in this discussion thread. Looked twice and still did not find it. :(

R'yzzntyg Valignatirnarod |

If I remember correctly, we would all be level 5 when the 2 new players joined the group. Just after the fight once off the ship.

Alexandr Sergejevich Kerensky |

I joined at level 5, Urban Bloodrager 4 Fracured mind 1

Sorry for being absent for a few days. I got behind on a couple things which seemed to snowball some. Should back and caught up by the weekend.

Stanislav Greymist |

I am back and mostly caught up. I actually went back and re-read 8 months of posts to catch up and remember. I feel much better prepared to participate. :)

Stanislav Greymist |

I am headed out to Dragon Con tomorrow afternoon for some much needed down time. Might not be available til next Tuesday but will try to post if needed.

Say "Hi" to Jim Butcher for me!

Stanislav Greymist |

I've seen him there before. There was a panel with him and the guy who plays Harry Dresden in the show. 90% of the people there were teen girls and there to see the TV star. Sad. lol
I also saw him at ChattaCon one time. He was in the dealer's room and all alone. I talked with him for 15 minutes. It's been a few years.

R'yzzntyg Valignatirnarod |

Just checking the treasure.
Did we managed to sell any of the items to be sold at the outlaw village? If so, we can change "To be sold" to "Sold".
R'yzzntyg bought the Drake Saddle for Ajikisshochraos and Reduce Person scroll for making the Drake Harness for 6025 GP (gave funds to Stanis to buy items for her). Once she accumulates 3000 GP value of materials she give the scroll and materials to Vinnick to craft the Drake Harness, when he is able to craft the items.
Currently leaving the Drake Saddle at fortress in the vault, for when they return, so she can start training Ajikisshochraos to wear the saddle.

Flying the next day or so, and will likely be busy/ without wifi. Just a heads up

Stanislav Greymist |

In at least game time, Stanislav will soon be in need of coffins to sleep in. Ideas on their procurement, placement, and transport?

R'yzzntyg Valignatirnarod |

I sure we can make a basic coffin at the fortress if getting a coffin now would draw too much attention.
Sure a simple long wooden box, with some unholy sand popped in would do in the mean time, while we can find a nice decorated coffin for Stanis.

Alexandr Sergejevich Kerensky |

Clearly, the long term solution is a Coffin inside a devastator Golem.

Stanislav Greymist |

I like it! :)
I have a way to quickly become a full vampire. But if/when I use it I will need a coffin the next day, so better to prepare for that happening here if possible. Ideally Stanislav would have a half dozen options at home, some only accessible if you are gaseous form. But being away from home he either needs to travel with a coffin or prepare in advance for his bed.
Now how can he get a coffin or two hidden around this town...?

Stanislav Greymist |

DireMerc,
I think. we are paused because no one is sure where to go/what to do. This is quite sandboxy with no clear direction I can see. It's too early to head for the tunnel in the inn. I am not even clear why we are here except to gather info in general and get the lay of he land. We don't want to risk being discovered or even gain any notoriety.
I am a fighter with few social skills. I cannot bluff. I have no diplomacy training. I am not good at Sense Motive. Intimidation only gets me so far. lol.
How about we secure a room at cheaper inn and do some light shopping to see what adventurer gear might be for sale here and begin to gather rumors and the like?

DireMerc |

Hmm a fair point. I left it very open-ended on purposes there is at least 10 different ways you could possibly go about this that I came up with and there are probably many more that I haven't thought of. Ultimately I figure your reason for being here is to gather information about anything you can to weaken the Balenthyne. this is in fact completely optional you could if you wanted to go right to the fort itself and start looking for ways to infiltrate or sabotage it yourselves.
If you want to roll gather information checks you can just let me know what it is exactly your asking about. When you visit specific places I may give you more hooks but at the moment you're just roaming the streets.
I think Alex said he was going towards Auld’Irey reading back so will update on that.

Stanislav Greymist |

I am traveling starting tomorrow and will have limited posting time for about 15 days. Next week (visiting family) will not be as limiting as the following week (taking a 6 day class with long hours). Please bot me if you need to.

Alexandr Sergejevich Kerensky |

Sorry for he slow posting pace.
Moving parts and stuff :)

Alexandr Sergejevich Kerensky |

Does any of us have the spell auditory hallucination? Its great for stirring up some trouble.

Stanislav Greymist |

So we are in the town near the fortress and we have 3 weeks or so to kill before we need to have the place weakened and/or the gate opened. Are we just looking for how to use our time the best? I think at the right time we will try to infiltrate the fortress from the tunnel, assuming we can find it, right?
I'd really like to ambush a patrol or two away from this town. That might gain us more gear and focus attention away from the town proper.

The s outing patrol is coming from the castle. And I think could very easily be a good starting point for information, gear, etc.
