I have to admit, I love these ideals. In one of our current campaigns, we have a female Gold Dragon Shaman from the 3.5 PHB2 that has one of these little guys as a pet (read useless except in actual RP) so I'll call her attention to this thread for future reference. Hmmm, now that I think about it, I wonder how he will react to my character's Nightmare when they finally meet. Fire=awesome, horse=horrific, flaming horse=????

As for your goblin, perhaps he should take a note from a paladin and learn to smite.... gnomes....

Mmmmmmm Smite Gnome, best power, EVER

That sounds good to me. Caster level == HD, probably?

Exactly so, and the Nightgloom looks like a simple Darkness or Deeper Darkness at will, depending on the personal might of the Nightmare. Hmmmmmm, Nightmare+Hooves of Hell+Improved Overrun=one very hurt PC. This should be fun......

Just got this, and I must say, I love it, great job guys. Odd that the "desert" Nightmare turned out to be a elemental fire nightmare, which is still quite cool in it's own right. My only real complaint is that there are no game mechanics for the additional abilities of the nightmare, like the nightgloom and the hooves of hell. That aside, it's great to see these guys getting some attention of their own at long last.

Yep, that was exactly what I needed, kind of scary really. Too bad it doesn't give any actual mechanics for the additional abilities of a Nightmare, like the Hooves of Hell attack, any suggestions on how to use that in game? I'm thinking treat it as a wall of fire that can be formed in a circular shape, once a day. Sound reasonable?

I'm looking for some more detailed background info on everyone's favorite evil mount such as food (souls?), general behavior outside of combat, etc. Anyone know of any source for this? I would prefer Pathfinder of course, but I'll take 3.5 or anything else I can get....
