Each of you received a missive from Venture-Captain Ambrus Valsin, ordering you to meet outside Carrion Hill on a mission of utmost importance...

The strange city of Carrion Hill has long loomed over the surrounding swamps in eastern Ustalav, yet its rulers have shifted many times through the centuries. Often enough that only a few sinister scholars and curious minds know the true nature of the hill’s original inhabitants. Your purpose here is three-fold. First, you are to scout out the place as a possible site for a new lodge; second, the society is curious about one of Carrion Hill's more unique exports, a material known ad middenstone, and wish you to secure a large sample of the stuff for transport back to the Grand Lodge in Absalom; and thirdly, investigate any strange goings on as the Decemvirate has heard tale of mysteries they deem worth further study, if the opportunity arises...

You are instructed to meet with your fellow Pathfinders in a grove not far from the city gate on a set date and time. That date and time is...now...the sun rises as you gather together in the grove...

I’m recruiting for a campaign where the characters will play either familiars or animal companions that will band together to try and find their masters.

This is the Discussion thread for A Familiar Adventure in which characters will be playing either familiars or animal companions of young master NPCs...and then find themselves thrown into the fire when their masters disappear...

The setting of this adventure will be in and around the small village of Orlane in the world of Greyhawk. While it’s an old D&D setting, we’ll be using Pathfinder 1e rules…but since the characters you play are non-standard, I can be flexible in interpreting said rules so just ask if there’s anything you’d like to adapt/try. As far as picking a familiar or animal companion to play, you can be imaginative and we can discuss it...

I'll be using an old D&D scenario from the 80's and adapting it as needed to fit this adventure...I think it'll be a good guideline to go by as it was a fun adventure back in the day. Reading thru this scenario, it seems like it'll probably play at least as long as one of the longer Pathfinder modules, perhaps a bit longer. When we near the conclusion, if everyone's having fun with it, we can discuss continuing...

I'm currently GM'ing a module and a scenario; I'm close to finishing with both, so we'll probably look at starting in couple of weeks or so. But with the 4th of July weekend fast approaching, some of you may be out of town or have company so we can delay starting till after that, if you wish...

I've been in a group that's been playing the Reign of Winter AP PBP here for a while now but we just lost our 2nd GM; I'd guess we were about two-thirds the way thru the 3rd book when our current GM felt he had to drop the game. We have 4 PCs that have been there from the beginning and others that joined near the beginning of Book 2...

We know it may be asking a lot but we've got a dedicated group that has role-played well together, not to mention for a long time, and we'd like to see this through. And if you can't commit to the rest of the AP but could perhaps get us to the end of book 3, that'd be awesome and much appreciated too (and perhaps I could GM some sessions for you in return); we could worry about the rest afterwards...

We've also been thinking and, if we can't find a GM to continue this AP, we'd like to keep the core group together...and if any GM is thinking on starting up an AP (any AP) and would like a group of PCs that RP well together, that'd be welcome too...

The summons was sudden and unexpected. One moment news was traveling around Absalom of the strange crystalline ship that appeared in Absalom’s harbor, defying the Harbor Guard’s defenses and attempts at interdiction, and the next instant a young Pathfinder, acting as courier, brought Venture-Captain Adril Hestram. The meeting occurred in the streets outside the Grand Lodge even as Hestram was coming. The facts of the matter were that a strange, seemingly derelict ship had indeed appeared in the harbor, it appeared to be of ancient Azlanti make, and the Pathfinders wanted the first crack at it. A clandestine meeting was set up at Harbormaster’s Grange with Hestram and the First Harbormaster.

This is the recruitment thread for The Labyrinth of Hungry Ghosts. This will be run in high tier (6-7) with a little twist; we need one fearless, low-tier level three character willing to play out of tier that will be a student/sidekick of EbonFist’s character Kahwen so he can put his Model Pathfinder Agent boon to use. This is a cool boon that will grant a bonus to characters 3+ levels less than Kahwen (who is 6th level). I plan to start either Monday or Tuesday of next week, providing we have enough players by then. One high tier spot is reserved for Kahwen so we need 4 more high tier PCs along with the aforementioned 3rd level.

If we have more than enough PCs showing interest by Friday evening, I’ll select based on a combination of party mix and lottery...

I have GM'ed for and played with Yogadragon and Noral several times before. For those that I haven't GM'ed, just a note or two. I know that y'all have ran many more games and know the rules far better than I. While I will strive to do my best, I may make mistakes; please call me on it when I do and I'll fix it. I've also been known to ask questions if I'm unsure of something before I post. I don't think I have too much of an ego, so please let me know if/when I screw up, I won't be offended in the slightest...

My games in the past have tended to go at a fairly quick pace...let me know if it appears to be going too quick...

Going on a cruise soon so we won't be starting for at least a couple of weeks, probably on or around April 22nd. Figured it'd be easier to go ahead and start a campaign thread as opposed to pm'ing everyone...

Of the others that played Tower of the Ironwood Watch, Jactus mentioned at the time that he was taking a break, Dermot said he was swamped, and I still haven't heard back from Sirrah. I'll be sending a PM to Kramac/Yogadragon to see if he has an available in tier character and I'll be contacting the fellow that wanted to play Towers but replied just a few minutes too late. As before, I'll open it up to recruiting if I have trouble filling the other 3 slots...

Most of you know my style; my games usually run at a fairly quick pace. Y'all are also well aware that my grasp of the rules are not as thorough as yours. However, I see that as a good thing; while I'll do my best to keep from screwing things up too much, call me on it when I do and I'll retcon/fix it promptly...

I'm starting the prep work presently. Hoping to have most of the prep done before I depart so we can hit it running when I get back. Looking forward to playing with y'all again...

I've been playing PFS PBP for over two years now and I've GM'ed a handful of sessions here. I'm sure most of you have been playing longer than I. And undoubtedly, most of you probably know the rules better than I so, if you see me make a mistake, don't hesitate to call me on it. I don't have much of an ego to bruise and I have no problem retconning if I screw up...

This is the discussion tab for my season 4 trilogy; players will be Meloriel, her husband, her two children, and Cerryl. I have either GM'ed each of you before or played alongside you (I was Dylph in The Sun Orchid Scheme with Ruslo, Fuzzzy, and Lady Naysha).

We'll start off with Veteran's Vault and then go from there. We can play as fast or slow as y'all wish. I think there's an upcoming PBP con coming up in March, so if we're not finished and some of you wish to use your characters in that con, we can take a break in between scenarios and continue on to the next one after the con is over...

I can usually post two or three times a day, but I know how busy life can get. If y'all can try to post at least once a day and once over the weekend, that'll be appreciated. I know that's not always possible, so if you go out of town, have visitors, or life gets hectic, give me a head's up and we can take a brief break until things get back to normal...

My main goal is just for everyone to have fun. I'll do my best at GM'ing but I'm no expert; if you notice a mistake I make, don't be shy about pointing it out. I have no issues doing a retcon if/when I err...

We'll look to start in earnest on Monday, if everyone's agreeable, but feel free to post before then. The Gameplay thread is open, so you can dot and delete or, if you'd like to roleplay and intro the characters to each other there, that's fine as well.

10 Minute Background:

Step 1 (5 Concepts):

1. Stressful Childhood: While Mira has scattered happy memories of growing up, the primary emotion she remembers feeling as a child is stress. At a very young age, she remembers her father not being around, though her memory on whether he died or just left is unclear. However, what she does remember is her mother not handling his absence well and seeming to be in a constant state of anxiety, with causes ranging from reasonable concerns, like worrying how to provide for them, to seemingly trivial issues like whether she had accidently offended the mailman.
2. Calm Outward Demeanor: Never wanting her own anxieties to trigger her mother’s, Mira became very practiced at hiding her emotional state and calming down people who are in a state of panic. In a crisis she often seems calm, cool and disaffected. However, this is mostly a façade. She still gets scared and anxious, but keeps it deeply hidden, not wanting to make a bad situation worse.
3. Left Home At Some Point: While her memories of living with her mother are the strongest she currently has, she does have a few recollections of her later life and she feels like her mother isn’t around for those. However, for the life of her she can’t remember why. Given that her mother is not particularly apt at taking care of herself, this is causing Mira a fair amount of anxiety at the campaign start.
4. Protective: Mira is so seemingly nonplussed in times of chaos, that it is common for people to assume that she is apathetic. However, she actually cares far more that she lets on. In particular she is extremely protective of those she views as vulnerable, particularly emotionally. One of her few non-childhood memories involve a person who she was tasked with helping or protecting. Like with her mother, she can’t really remember why she was helping them or where they are now and it’s leaving her with a guilty and anxious feeling.
5. Dislikes Conflict: Mira first instinct when conflict arises is to try and calmly diffuse the situation. If a person proves too stubborn or erratic to be talked down, her next step is usually to try manipulation or trickery. Violence is usually her last resort, as it tends to lead to more chaos.

Step 2 (Goals):

1. Her primary goal starting out would be to try and regain her memories. She would absolutely hate the loss of control of her mental state.
2. More specifically, she would want to figure out what happened to her mother and this other person she was helping who she feels was important somehow.

Step 3 (2 Secrets):

1. Known: She is convinced that this mystery person she was supposed to help is somehow related to the current predicament. However, her instinct is to keep this to herself, as she is embarrassed that she can’t remember much more and feels guilty that she might somehow be responsible for the things that are happening.
2. Unknown: Her memories of the mystery person are muddled up. She is right that she was trying to help someone and she is right that remembering him or her is important. However, the person was actually manipulating her. (See Step 4)

Step 4 (3 Connections):

1. Mira still has strong positive memories of her mother, even if her childhood was stressful. She would like to know what happened to her.
2. As stated above, there is a mystery person that Mira feels she was supposed to be helping, though the details are unclear.
3. Mira also has vague recollections of some person that was out to get her and suspects they were involved in her being put in the asylum somehow (whether or not they actually were). What she doesn’t realize is that the person she was helping and the person who was out to get her is the same.

Step 5 (3 Quirks):

1. Mira usually speaks with a slow, calm, almost hypnotic tone. Her posture seems relaxed and she tends to saunter when she walks.
2. She almost never says exactly what is on her mind. Her words tend to be carefully calculated before they are spoken.
3. At first glance there are no cracks in Mira’s calm. However, a careful observer might notice that in times of high stress she has subtle ticks, like running a coin between her fingers or tapping gently on a table.

Step 5 (Fears):

1. Mira’s main fear is fear itself. She has a deeply seeded belief that if she doesn’t stay calm at all times she will cause others to panic and chaos will ensue. As a result of this fear, she is particularly scared of any magic being used on her that would affect mind or exerts control. Creatures capable of possession particularly scare her.
2. While not as strong, Mira is somewhat afraid of mindlessly violent entities. Essentially anything set on hurting her that can’t be talked to.

For my own fears, I have a lot of minor ones, but not a lot of major ones. I guess by biggest one (or at least the one in my head since I have been doing some hikes on vacation) is falling off of something very high, like a cliff or a building. It’s particularly strong if it’s windy out.

Appearance:

Mira's appearance might indicate to some the presence of a rebellious streak. Within her long brown hair, more than one streak of color can be found. Shades of Blue, Pink, Green and Purple can all spotted, even if not all at once. She also has spiraling patterns tattooed to her skin, starting around her left elbow and climbing all the way past her shoulder and towards her chest. These patterns contain no clear images, words or symbol. Yet, those who stare at them for a while often claim to find figures within the mesmerizing design. Both the hair and the tattoos were conscious choices on Mira part, having found that color and patterns make for great distractions and aid in the hypnotic effects she creates. Still, with a few years missing from her memory, several parts of her tattoos are entirely unfamiliar and the streaks in her hair are not in the colors or positions that she last remembers.

Mira's physique is mostly long and lithe. However, her arms show muscle definition that could only be achieved through some kind of physical training that Mira does not remember ever doing. While, she is a little taller and stronger than the average person of her age and gender, Mira's posture is generally slouched and casual, ensuring that her natural presence in not intimidating. She uses this to her advantage, reserving her full height and presence for situations where she needs to rattle someone.
