This is the discussion tab for my season 4 trilogy; players will be Meloriel, her husband, her two children, and Cerryl. I have either GM'ed each of you before or played alongside you (I was Dylph in The Sun Orchid Scheme with Ruslo, Fuzzzy, and Lady Naysha).
We'll start off with Veteran's Vault and then go from there. We can play as fast or slow as y'all wish. I think there's an upcoming PBP con coming up in March, so if we're not finished and some of you wish to use your characters in that con, we can take a break in between scenarios and continue on to the next one after the con is over...
I can usually post two or three times a day, but I know how busy life can get. If y'all can try to post at least once a day and once over the weekend, that'll be appreciated. I know that's not always possible, so if you go out of town, have visitors, or life gets hectic, give me a head's up and we can take a brief break until things get back to normal...
My main goal is just for everyone to have fun. I'll do my best at GM'ing but I'm no expert; if you notice a mistake I make, don't be shy about pointing it out. I have no issues doing a retcon if/when I err...
We'll look to start in earnest on Monday, if everyone's agreeable, but feel free to post before then. The Gameplay thread is open, so you can dot and delete or, if you'd like to roleplay and intro the characters to each other there, that's fine as well.
Please post your PFS info in this thread:
Player Name:
Character Name:
PFS ID#:
Faction:
Normal or Slow Track:
Day Job Roll:
Also, the slides/map link will always be posted at the top of the screen, in my GM header, and occasionally in my posts when applicable, especially when in combat. You can post your Initiative and Perception mods on slide 1, along with your default marching order, at your leisure...

Hi!
My family had a trio of related gnomes just free up for play, and were curious if you'd mind if they brought them along. They would be a trio of siblings who are a level 1 skald, a level 1 monk, and a level 3 inquisitor of Shelyn. Let me know if that's alright and they'll check in. Otherwise they can bring the characters I'd previously mentioned.
Player Name: meloriel
Character Name: Lovissa Halenbane
PFS ID#: 276820-2
Faction: Grand Lodge
Normal or Slow Track: Normal
Day Job Roll: None

Gnomes are more than welcome! Whatever they want to play is fine...

![]() |

Got it! They'll check in later.

![]() |

I am checking in! I am Meloriel's daughter! And I played Lady Naysha with you. I am brining Rosie Tangletop! She is fun. I usually get to post once a day so we should be fine.

Sometimes I go the whole mission acting like a scared little girl and do not tell my teammates I am a gnome!! Hahaha. But when her brothers are in her team she stops pretending.

Rosie looks like a fun character, looking forward to seeing her in this campaign. I remember Lady Naysha; you played her very well.

Nice introductions, y'all. Lovissa, it's gonna be fun to see how your intro grows once you get another 4 levels under your belt!
Everyone's checked in except Cerryl...once he checks in, I'll get the ball rolling with the initial briefing post...

![]() |

Hey everyone
Have a quick question after talking with Otha and looking at the characters...I can bring Cerryl level 2.1 or I have a new level 2 Barbarian that I can bring or even revamp him so we have a disable device option though in my head he would still want to be a major front liner. Will check in again later tonight and see about dotting in and intro either character.

![]() |

Hi, Cerryl!
Lovissa can use disable device, so don't pick just based on that.
I'd say play with whichever you'd enjoy more. We don't have a primary arcane caster (although Jastrokan and Lovissa dabble), but we don't have a powerful front-liner either. Lovissa is a front-liner, but she's no barbarian.
In terms of what roles the other characters usually fill, I can tell you Toban tends to be melee/support/healer, Rosie is both melee and close ranged, Jastrokan is support/close ranged/healer, and Lovissa is melee/self-buffing/healer. Take from that what you will! Haha.

![]() |

Since Cerryl has posted here, I'll go ahead and make the initial briefing posts while he's ironing out which character he'll be bringing along...

![]() |

Gah think all 3 of my characters are viable then also have a level 1.1 hunter that is ranged focused...need to play Cerryl some (mages just feel so weak early on) and the history with Lovissa would be nice to try to play on (been a little while since that trilogy)...and been enjoying the simplicity with enemy meet the spiked end of heavy flail and not worrying about much more than that.
Will sleep on it and if anyone thinks one is better than the other will take that into consideration but will work on the characters think they all need to be updated after their last chronicles though only the barbarian would need to be leveled.

![]() |

Cerryl, have you decided on which character yet? If you can't decide, just pick the one you feel more like playing this go round...

![]() |

Y'all can still ask questions if you have any...once Cerryl makes an intro, I'll move us on...

![]() |

Good job role-playing with the Otyugh. When I was prepping this session, I thought this would be just a straight-up fight...but Rosie's and Toban's cooking skills made it a different, and more interesting, encounter...

Hey Meloriel, not related to this session, but I read your blog and saw your latest entry was about the Realms of Atrothia kickstarter. Liked what I saw and I backed it...
Intrigued by how it's compatible with Pathfinder 1.0, especially since I'm not all that excited about Pathfinder 2.0; thus far I much prefer PF1.0. I've done a couple of PF2.0 playtests and didn't really care for it much...I know they're making changes and adjusting so I'll just have to wait and see what the finished product is like. Even so, I'm hoping Realms can help extend the PF1.0 rules lifespan...

![]() |

Awesome, Otha! I'm thrilled to hear it. Thanks so much! I'd love it if you could help us spread the word.
Realms of Atrothia was born out of a deep love of PF1 and that's exactly what they're hoping to do. Keep the game we all know and love alive and fresh with quality, imaginative content. I'm really hoping the Kickstarter goes well. From what I know of the content, it's something I'd love to see in print.
Have you seen any of the spoilers yet? If you follow Sunburst Games on Twitter or Facebook there's some sneak peeks you can see and share.
And my daughter! Little Rosie Tangletop here is so thrilled to see the rabbitfolk race she created get published! It's got a few exciting changes to it from the version released on my blog last year, which are very cool.

![]() |

When I saw the name of the rabbit-folk priest on the Kickstarter page, I wondered if your daughter might've had a hand in that...
I haven't seen much in the way of spoilers yet, first I'd heard of it was in your blog...but I'll check 'em out in the sites you've mentioned...

![]() |

I did not get to name the rabbitfolk priest, but I made the rabbitfolk race and I got to help pick out the colours and look of the race for the art! That was really fun!

![]() |

Hey Meloriel,
I was catching up with your blog and saw that Sunburst Games is having a Facebook contest giveaway to help spread the word about Realms of Atrothia. Are they familiar with the Boardgamegeek/RPGgeek website? There's a pretty decent sized contingent of role players over there...I got my introduction to PFS and PBP there a couple of years ago. Various game companies have giveaway contests over there quite often; they get posted and pinned to the front page and typical contests run for about a week. Usually there are five or so questions about the game with links to the Kickstarter page and the company's site for the answers. They usually draw a lot of interest from the users there...
I was reading a forum over on Paizo (I think you may have posted there) and seems like there's a lot of folk who will continue to play PFS1...and some lamented the lack of new content once PFS2 is released...I think there'd be a lot of interest in Realms if the word can get around...

![]() |

Thanks, Otha! I'll pass that along right away.

![]() |

Here's the link to the website:
While there's an RPG site in tandem there, the contests are run on the boardgame site. He'd probably have to contact one of the admins to see what's involved. On the front page, there's a pinned section called Sponsored Contests; clicking on one of the active contest links will kinda give you an idea of how it works...

![]() |

Sorry, busy day. My brother and I won't get to our posts until tomorrow.

Sorry, busy day. My brother and I won't get to our posts until tomorrow.
No worries Rosie, some days get like that; tomorrow will be fine.

![]() |

Happy Valentine's Day! We were busy.

![]() |

Happy Valentine's Day! We were busy.
No worries, I was a little busy myself. Hope y'all had a great Valentine's Day!

![]() |

We did, thanks!

![]() |

Hey Meloriel, sorry to see the Realms of Atrothia didn't fund this go round...but I'm glad he's gonna regroup and try again later. I'll be on the lookout for it as I'll definitely back it again...

![]() |

Thanks, Otha. Yeah, as far as I know this first attempt was budgeted for a 'in a perfect world' sort of thing. When he attempts the Kickstarter again in a few months it'll be a much more modest budget. Either way, still plenty of content to work on. Haha. No less busy for me.
I'll let you know when it launches again.

![]() |

Thanks, definitely looking forward to it.
Sounds like a lot of exciting, as well as exhausting, work. I'm guessing you're pretty involved with the writing/editing?

![]() |

I did editing for Legacy Races Revisited, but for the Primary Expansion I was asked to write lore for all the races and help brainstorm lore for many of the nations and regions. When I finish all the race lore I'll probably be asked to help write the nation lore as well. So yes, it's a lot of exhausting work. Haha. Always more to do.
Also: It's both of my kids birthdays tomorrow and we have a lot of parties to attend this month. It's unlikely we'll be able to post any weekend in March, starting with this one. And we definitely won't be posting tomorrow.
Thanks for understanding!

![]() |

Wow, I'm guessing there's not enough hours in the day for you with that workload...especially keeping up with your blog on top of that...
No worries, family comes first...this scenario is just about over now; your last attack, in conjunction with the damage the others have put on the jinkin, trigger the end of combat...
Hope your young 'uns have an awesome birthday!

![]() |

Great job, guys and gals! I'll have the reporting done and your Chronicles to you tonight...
Let me know whenever y'all wish to take on the next scenario; there's no rush...
Happy birthday, Rosie & Jastrokan!

![]() |

The session has been reported and here's the link to your Chronicles:
If there are any problems with the chronicles or the reporting, gimme a holler and I'll try to get it fixed in a jiffy...

![]() |

Thanks! I had a good birthday.
They all say it's our first chronicle, but it is not. Can I just fix it myself? Or do I need you to redo it and leave it blank for me to fill in by hand?
Thanks!
And we are ready to start the next session any time.

![]() |

Thanks!

![]() |

Hey Jastrokan, glad you had a good birthday.
When I report the session on the Paizo site, I give it a scenario # which, since this is the first session in a trilogy, I put down as #1. I was thinking that was where it went on your chronicle sheet as well. However, you are right and I am wrong. If you can change it, feel free to do so...if you can't, let me know and I can change it for you. Sorry about that, that was my bad!
Thank you Rosie, I had fun. Y'all are a good group to GM for!

![]() |

I've started the prep for the next session, The Cyphermage Dilemma. When would y'all like to start?

![]() |

Our chronicles will get applied tonight so we're ready to start anytime after that.

![]() |

Cool. Should be through with the prep tonight or tomorrow morning. I'll try to get us started some time tomorrow...

![]() |

We have one last crazy busy weekend coming up and we will very likely be unable to get a post in. Should be back to normal posting Monday.
Thanks!

No worries, hope y'all enjoy the weekend.

![]() |

Sorry, long day and I fell asleep in the recliner when I got home from work...will update in the morning...

![]() |

Just a head's up. I'll be on a cruise for a week starting this Saturday so my posting will be spotty at best; depending on what y'all do next, we might hit the next encounter before I depart. I'll go ahead and get the initial map set up...but I won't have access to move icons around so y'all might have to help with that if possible. I'm supposed to have coverage in three of the ports we'll be hitting so I should be able to post a few times...if I don't, you'll know that I don't have internet or that Alejia hijacked our ship!!!
