Feel free to ask questions and discuss your characters here...
Also, when you know which character you'll be bringing along, please include the following information (for your Chronicles):
Player Name:
Character Name:
PFS ID#:
Faction:
Slow or Normal Track:
Day job roll (if applicable):

![]() |

I've opened up the Discussion tab so any questions on characters and such can be talked on over there...
As for characters, my friend mentioned above is likely bringing a brand-new 1st level Wizard (Evoker I think)...and I think the newcomer that I'm awaiting word on is a Magus...
I'll throw in my Grippli UnRogue, then, since it doesn't seem like there needs to be another arcane caster. I'll add the information in my next post tonight.

![]() |

I can run Master of the Fallen Fortress in a couple of ways among these three scenarios:
1) It can be run first and lead to an introduction to the Pathfinder Society...
2) Or I can run it second after the Confirmation...
If any of you are bringing PFS characters with experience, we'll probably run with option 2...
Master of the Fallen Fortress is an evergreen but it's for 1st level characters only...if you bring a character with 1 XP, you should be good since MFS will be either first or second.
For those that don't know, the other two (Confirmation and Consortium Compact) are evergreens for 1st level, meaning you can play them multiple times with different 1st level characters...you can also take 2nd level characters through them but only once per player...
All three scenarios start in Abasalom and you'll stay within the confines of the isle of Kortos. As for backgrounds, while they add flavor, I'm not a stickler for them so whatever you come up with, is fine by me...

Isin Ghar |

I'm looking at a warpriest if that affects your decision.
A melee cleric/shaman is always fun, should work well with a Warpriest, Unrogue and a couple of arcane casters.
Character will be first level, and have never played any of the modules described. Not sure what the difference between slow/normal progression means in PFS (I get the slower advancement, but is there a benefit?)

![]() |

I've never played slow advancement myself...but playing through a slow progression would allow you to keep your character a certain level to meet any tier requirements...or if you're playing with a friend and one character is higher level than the other, it would let your friend catch up to you...those are my guesses as to the benefits any way...

Meloriel here, checking in with a combat occultist as mentioned.
This will be my first time playing anything PFS, and her first time being played. I am familiar with pbps though
Player Name: meloriel
Character Name: Lovissa Halenbane
PFS ID#: 276820-2
Faction: Grand Lodge
Slow or Normal Track: Normal
Day job roll (if applicable): N/A

![]() |

Looks good, meloriel! You can go ahead and dot with that character in the Gameplay thread (and then delete it) so that new posts alerts will show up in your Campaign tab...

Player Name: Knight of Rust
Character Name: Todd
PFS ID#: 50826-11
Faction: Sovereign Court
Slow or Normal Track: Slow
Day job roll (if applicable): None

![]() |

Player Name: DM Livgin
Character Name: Grey
PFS ID#: 156828-15
Faction: Dark Archive
Slow or Normal Track: Normal, Slow, Normal.
Day job roll (if applicable): N/A
This character profile needs some more work, but this gets things started.

![]() |

No worries, Isin, got plenty of time before we get started...

![]() |

Heard this morning from the lady I was holding a spot for and she wants to play, so we have our 6. From the looks of it, the party make-up will be:
Female Human Occultist
Male Grippli Unchained Rogue
Male Witchwolf Warpriest
Male Human Wizard (Evoker)
Female Kitsune Magus
Cleric/Shaman (I think this is what Isin is working on though he can change it if he likes)
Also, if there's any special quirks or rules (Trap Sense, other automatic rolls, etc) 'bout your character, just give me a head's up by posting it here...

![]() |

Player Name: Tulay
Character Name: Rei Ulskadi
PFS ID#: # 212731-2
Faction: Dark Archive
Slow or Normal Track: ?normal?
Day job roll (if applicable): (i guess i roll for the day job here? as its applicable?) 14 +5 = 19? apologies am trying to connect the live games with Post by play still......

![]() |

I'm sorry Ulskadi, I should've explained it better...if you have a Day Job (which I'm guessing your's is Profession-Scribe) you go ahead and make the roll now so I can include it in your Chronicle after y'all complete the Confirmation...not everyone has day jobs so that's why I said if applicable...
If you have any questions at all, ask...if I, or one of the other players, can't answer it, I'll do my best to find out...

![]() |

ah okies UlSkadi is an Archivist for the local branches of the Dark Archive. i was informed by the local GM's (Greg Mount, and Brandon Summers) that her Profession skill needed to read as Profession-Librarian.

![]() |

That's fine...
UlSkadi, don't know if you're familiar with this but, if you'll click on the Gameplay Tab towards the top of the page and make a post in that thread (just one word or keystroke will do) and then delete it, then this campaign will show up on your player's and character's Campaign tab. It'll show an alert for you when new posts are made to the Gameplay and Discussion threads...

DM Livgin |

Player Name: DM Livgin
Character Name: Grey
PFS ID#: 156828-15
Faction:Dark ArchiveGrand Lodge
Slow or Normal Track: Normal, Slow, Normal.
Day job roll (if applicable): N/AThis character profile needs some more work, but this gets things started.
Changed my mind about the faction. The Grand Lodge will suit this character better.

![]() |

thank you for the information! dotted in and will hopefully get things smoothed out on character tomorrow?

![]() |

Neither do I.

![]() |

I've just 'bout got all the maps for the first part (The Confirmation) ready, so we should be good for a Monday start...I'll probably put a preliminary post up in a day or so, so your characters can meet and greet in the Gameplay Thread and for those new to the site, get used to the posting format and such...
I'd also like y'all to add a header line to your character so I can see basic info as we play. I've noticed Grey of Mut has already done this. If you're unsure how to do this, take a look at Grey's post (several posts above this) and click on his icon. This will take you to Grey's profile page; take a look at his "Race" block in his profile, select and copy what he has there. Then go to your character's profile page, edit it, and paste that into your "Race" block. Once you've pasted it, just go through and make changes to match your character's stats and info. Then when you post here and on the Gameplay thread, that info will show up as your header. If you have any questions or issues when doing this, just gimme a holler...
And I think most of you already know this but just in case...when you post your default is always your Paizo login...before submitting your post in the Gameplay thread, click on the "Post As" dropbox (below the textbox) and click on your character so the post shows as the character playing this scenario. It may take a bit to get used to when doing that...more than once in sessions I've played, I've either left it as my default or clicked the wrong character, so if it happens, no worries...if you catch in time, you can always change it after you submit. You can edit posts for up to one hour...

Grey fidgets, self conscious about being used as an example and uncomfortable with so many eyes on him. "In the old gang, being used as an example had a different meaning" he thinks to himself.

I'd suggest using the header for the things you (and the GM) need the most. The things you've got are great. Adding Perception up there would be useful for sure. Maybe how many spells you have left for the day. If during the adventure you're under any buffs or other conditions you could add it in as well.

![]() |

Trying to figure out how to count the perception have base 6 but get another +3 to visual perception in low light from my familiar and also get +2 to perception and sense motive if my familiar is in reach and hoping the spells were kept this time.
Also, how can I get the avatar when posting as character.

![]() |

For an avatar you go to 'My Pathfinder Society' way up at the top of the page. It'll prompt you to sign in again. Scroll down to your PFS characters and click the button beside your characters name that says 'Edit.' One of the options will be adding a character avatar.
Are you planning on keeping your familiar with you, or will it wander off? If you're going to keep it with you I'd put: Perc: +8 (+11 vision in low-light).

![]() |

Thanks Lovissa, your suggestions are right on the mark...

![]() |

I just figured it out just the other day... Haha. I wish I would have asked someone actually. Less stress.

![]() |

Lets see if this worked then and got to say hate how quick the timeout is for the character page.
Hope that I can keep the familiar close by but with it being an owl not sure how that would work indoors.
Also hope I am not going with too much info in the header.

![]() |

Looks good, Cerryl...and, in most circumstances, how close you keep your familiar is up to you...
And yes, the character page can be frustrating...it's timed out on me more than a few times...

![]() |

how do you set the header?

![]() |

I'd also like y'all to add a header line to your character so I can see basic info as we play. I've noticed Grey of Mut has already done this. If you're unsure how to do this, take a look at Grey's post (several posts above this) and click on his icon. This will take you to Grey's profile page; take a look at his "Race" block in his profile, select and copy what he has there. GM Otha explained it in this quote above ^
You just copy someone else's header, click on your own character name, click on the 'Edit My Profile' button, and paste what you copied under 'Race.' Swap out the numbers for your own character's numbers, delete what you don't need and save the changes. If you run out of room you can also paste some stuff onto the 'Class' line.

![]() |

:P ok my apologies I really must be outta it tonight

![]() |

I've got the maps ready and posted. If you click the "Maps" link at the top of the page or you click the "Confirmation" link right above my icon, it'll take you to the Maps file on Google Docs...right now all the maps are blued out which means they're not meant to be viewed right now...
There's also an "Images" link below the "Maps" link at the top of the page...that'll will be for certain images or handouts the PCs will see from time to time...most of those are blued out as well 'cept for the initial page. If you click it now, it'll take you to that page, where I'm setting up an Initiative block and a Perception block (I will always roll Initiative while there only a few occasions where I might roll Perception for the party).
In the bottom block on that page, I've included the more common formatting examples for those new to posting...
I'll be putting out a preliminary post in the Gameplay thread and will announce it here, probably today. While we still won't start the meat of the scenario till Monday, this will give y'all a chance to introduce your characters to each other and roleplay. I'll also have the first map up and it'll give y'all a chance to move your icons around on a map, for those who aren't used to that (Isin, right now I've got your current icon on the map but if it changes when you finalize your character, I can easily replace it with a new one)...
Lookin' forward to getting starting and will post again a bit later today...

![]() |

Awesome! Tested, and... tested. Got it!
Thanks!

![]() |

I just posted the preliminary post in the Gameplay thread. There is no right or wrong in this portion, just wanted to show those new to PbP how things will look. Y'all can use it to roleplay while becoming familiar with the posting format as well as getting the feel for moving your icons around the map...just have fun with it...
If you have any issues or questions, just give a holler over here in the Discussion thread...

![]() |

Y'all are doing awesome over in the Gameplay thread...y'all catch on quick. Enjoying the interaction between Lovissa and Todd...Lovissa is likely to go hoarse after she makes introductions when the rest of the party arrives...

![]() |

No way, she's got Ulfen lungs! Haha.

![]() |

Thinking this will take a little time to get used to and hoping that my laptop is not trying to die on me. Been really slow the last couple days and kind of feel like the graphics are not functioning as well as they were before.
