GM Otha |
Hi, welcome to the Discussion thread for my session of Hall of Drunken Heroes, tier 7-11, for Gameday IX. This is first come, first serve, so I'll take the first 6 to sign up...

Hey noral, looks like they've changed the way they're doing recruitment for specials, so recruitment will be here, if I'm reading it right. Personally, I prefer the old way...
Since this is new, I'll have to check on exactly how it'll work. According to Tyranius's post, technically recruitment isn't open till August 5th...if that's the case, I'll send a reminder (via pm) to each of you that have responded a day or so beforehand alerting you...
Hey noral, I see you'll be GMing two Gameday sessions...it's still early, but have you noticed there are way more PF2 and SFS sessions than PF1? Wondering if this will be the trend from now on...
Aeliah |
"Aeliah wanna play dis game too."
A short half-elf clad in skins glares at anyone who challenges her. "Me look at GM early sign-ups too."
GM Otha |
Hi all,
Just a head's up that the GM early sign-ups are coming up, probably within a few hours or so; while I live in the EST zone, in the past, they've usually opened it up a few hours before that to account for earlier time zones. Not sure if they'll be doing that this time but, hopefully, they'll announce something on one of the boards when it goes live...
Looking forward to running this one...
Cheers,
Otha

Welcome, EvilMinion! It won't start till September 1st, so you've got plenty of time before you need to choose which character to play...
Shirley Hidesbad |
Actually, after some pondering, will probably run with Shirley Hidesbad.
Human hunter 3 / Cavalier 8 (Level 11).

While Rudzik would be the 6th PC, it looks like we may have enough interest for a couple of tables, a high-tier and low-tier...
I'll see what I need to do to add another table on the sign-up sheet and drum up a couple more players...
From those that showed an early interest, I saw that G'look signed up for the special and I've sent a PM to Mivvy to see if she's still interested...
High-tier:
Shirley 11
Eorsten 10
Krazy Kat 10
Rudzik 11
Low-tier:
Aeliah 7
Mivvy Heverington 7 (if she's still interested)
Either or:
Izlin 9
Torean 9
Andor 9
Hamish the Bard |
I saw your post about making a 2nd table and have a lvl 7 bard that would be interested in joining the low-tier table.
Hamish is a rather stern looking muscular half elf. His clothing is simple, with a black cloak and dark britches covering most of his body. His chest is clad in a bright silver breastplate that contrasts with the dull wrought iron Symbol of Pharasma hanging from his neck. Slung over his shoulders is a tightly packed backpack. Clipped to his belt on one side is a well crafted whip and the other side has a dangerous looking black iron longsword.
But appearances aside, he usually greets people with a friendly smile and introduction. He doesn’t get very wordy about Pharasma, simply explaining that he does what is necessary to usher souls to their correct reward. His common response to religious inquiries is that, ”it simply isn’t my job to judge, merely to make sure a soul ends up in the right place.” He then glances down at his longsword and adds with a wry smile, ”and I’m happy to assist some souls there faster than they may have wished.”
GM Otha |
Welcome Hamish...that gives us:
High-tier:
Shirley 11
Eorsten 10
Krazy Kat 10

Low-tier:
Aeliah 7
Hamish 7
Mivvy Heverington 7 (if she's still interested)
Either or:
Izlin 9
Torean 9
Andor 9
Looks like we'll need 2 or 3 more to fill out both tables...
GM Otha |
Cool, you’re in Redelia...as there is room in either tier right now, the choice is yours...
GM RePete |
I'd love to jump in on low tier.
I've gotta double check my available characters. At a doctor appointment now so will check this afternoon
GM Otha |
Sweet, you’re in RePete...

I'll keep this thread as low tier and set up a new thread for high tier; I'll post that link here in addition to pm'ing the high tier characters the link as well. I'll also register another session so both will be eligible for boons...
I should have the prep work/slides done by the weekend and will post the links on the applicable campaign threads then.
We'll start September 1st; looking forward to running this for y'all!
GM Otha |
OK, I have the High-Tier Campaign Thread set-up. Those playing high-tier, please check-in at the link below:
High-Tier Hall of Drunken Heroes Discussion Thread
For those playing low-tier, this will remain your Discussion Thread; I've got the Gameplay thread set up, so you may dot and delete at your leisure. Also, for low-tier, I have Aeliah's and Izlin's PFS info...the rest of you can post that whenever you get a chance...
Hamish the Bard |
Thanks again for bumping this to two tables after all the interest shown!
Name: Pete H.
Character Name: Hamish the Bard
PFS # 123584-2
Faction: Dark Archive
Class: Bard (Support)
Character Level: 7
Track: Normal
Day Job: Foregoing a roll to check another box (4/6) on Seasoned Archivist boon
Thaddeus Treeskipper |
Player Name: Redelia
Character Name: Thaddeus Treeskipper
PFS#: 838-4
Faction: Silver Crusade
No day job
Normal track
Things the GM should know about Tad:
He's an ecclesitheurge, so as squishy as a wizard. He can swap around domains to some extent and cast domain spells in normal spell slots. Also, he can cast any cleric spell of a level he can cast from his bonded holy symbol, even if out of spell slots (once a day).
Also, Tad is built using the agile tongue feat, so he can deliver tough attack spells (which includes Cure spells) from 10 feet away by licking people. He's a considerate little guy, though, and carries around mint leaves so his breath is minty fresh when he licks people.

That’s awesome!
Umbrato Shawart |
Thanks for the table. :-)
Player: RePete
Character Name: Umbrato Shawart
PFS #: 126566-16
Character Level: 8
Class/Role: Arcane Trickster (Rogue/Wizard)/Support
Faction: Scarab Sages
Day Job: Craft (Origami Sculptures): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Normal Track
~Specials about the character~
-At will as an immediate action I can activate Feather Fall on myself
-I can attempt a disable device or sleight of hand check from 30ft away by increasing the DC by 5
-I can use a scroll as a shortsword or a shield by spending a free action to "fold" the scroll
-Scarab Sage Faction Card (Link): Both my allies within 30ft of myself and I treat our Con score as 4 higher when determining if we are dead dead
Those are the main things that may come up. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Aeliah |
Thanks so much for running two tables, GM Otha!
I haven't read, run or played this one, but I hear it is fun and quite challenging.
Aeliah is my attempt at a druid playing the role of a summoner/blaster wizard.
The concept has worked quite well to date.
In lower intensity battles, she tends to blast and heal. In tough fights, she can spontaneously summon celestial reptilian nature's allies as a standard action. These tend to tie up enemy support fighters, freeing our frontline to smash the bosses/mini-bosses.
As a pseudo-wizard she is fairly squishy and tends to hang at the back like a wizard. She doesn't have an animal companion.
I'm thinking Izlin is our primary front liner, with Mivvy for support?
Don't sweat it, brother! I'll be able to throw some celestial crocodiles your way when you need them ;)
GM Otha |
No worries, Aeliah, happy to do it. I hate turning folk away, especially when the number of PFS1 tables look to be fewer than usual...
I’ve GM’ed Izlin before and, while he’s not a frontliner, he can dish it out from range...I think of him as Gambit from the X-Men...

Cool stuff, RePete...never seen the scroll thing before, I imagine that comes in handy. Maybe I‘ll get to see it in action here...
Hamish the Bard |
Once Hamish has his group buffs going (should only take the first round), he'll be moving into melee to support anyone there that does damage (especially anyone that needs a flank). His AC is quite high when doing that. Izlin appears to be ranged?
He also has a small variety of combat utility spells.
GM Otha |
I have the slides ready, the link can be found either in my GM Header or at the top of the page. During encounters and such, I'll usually include a link directly to the appropriate slide in my post...
I've already copied your icons to the introductory slide as well as your Initiative & Perception mods; please double-check, at your leisure, to make sure they're right. Also, there's a block where you can post your preferred marching order...
Please let me know if you have any issues accessing the slides or if I've made any mistakes...
Hamish the Bard |
Hamish is happy to be near-ish the front and the dedicated door opener (very high FF AC). He could go first, but he's also got poor perception so won't be finding any traps or discovering hidden enemies in that position. I'd think spot 2 or 3 for him. What position does everyone else want?
It's very nice we have plenty of time to figure these things out! GM Otha, thank you for all the hard work you've already put in.
_______________
Second Group Topic
What sorts of combat buffs are we all bringing? No reason to waste actions on stuff that doesn't stack.
Hamish will be bringing Good Hope and Inspire Competence to two fights (most likely).
IC provides a +2 Competence Bonus to attack and weapon damage rolls.
Good Hope provides a +2 Morale Bonus to saving throws, attack rolls, ability checks, skill checks, and weapon damage rolls.
Aeliah |
"Aeliah buff by throw crocodiles at things that annoy her, that should know better."
The druidess *glowers* at the fourth wall.
"Annoying human remind Aeliah her also like cast fly spells on front line warriors and last resort can cast the Hunter's guidance."
+1 competence bonus to target's next d20 roll
Mivvy Hetherington |
Mivvy will be one or two (depending on if we have a trap-spotter or sneak to scout ahead).
Her buffs are +1 inspire courage (not much use with a proper bard in the group) and dropping expeditious retreat occasionally.
Umbrato Shawart |
Umbrato is a bit on the selfish side for buffs. I do have a scroll of haste, a scroll of darkvision and a scroll of invisibility sphere that I can use. My wand of shield and wand of mage armor can be loaned out, but the shield one doesnt last long and is a person spell.
While my disable device is decent...my perception isnt so someone else needs to find the trap for me to disable it.
Marching order, I like to be towards the front or the back. I leave the middle for the more squishy companions. With my high health I can typically take a hit better than an average wizard.
