| Dead Suns | To Conquer the Dragon: TABLE 2 | Ship Roles |

Welcome to my Play-by-Post!

Here's the ctrl+P for all my games:

1. I've been running games since the late 1980s, I've seen a lot of editions. I started playing PFS with Slot 1 Season 0 at Gen Con. I'm solid with the Starfinder rules, but everyone makes mistakes. I'll try to be as fair as possible.

2. I'm a Venture-Lieutenant online, but also in Southern NH. If you're ever in the area, or you need help finding games/conventions there. PM me.

3. I post with a high rate of frequency. That being said, if you guys can post 2-3 times per day, awesome. If it's only 1/day I understand. No worries. Real Life Comes First (tm).

4. Feel free to preemptively roll Perception, Disable Device, etc. It makes the game run more efficiently. I ask only that you make sure minis are placed in their actual position in case your choices have consequences (good or bad.)

5. Let's get started:
Player Name:

PC Name:

PFS#:

Faction:

Day Job: Feel free to roll now.

Perception and vision/senses:
Initiative:

Notes: Anything I should know; passive abilities, boons that are way out there, etc. If you have abilities that are immediate actions that interrupt an enemy, I'll be as fair as possible, but you can help me out by telling me under what conditions you typically use it.

Slotted Boons: You may want to wait and do this in a separate post, as you can slot boons after getting the mission briefing.

Some expectations in my games:

  • Try to post at least once daily. Remember though, real life comes first. If you're going to be gone for 24+ hours, try to give a heads up before you go.

  • Saving Throws first. If you have a saving throw to make, have it be the first dice of the post.

  • Animal companions, eidolons, phantoms, etc. For PbP I have them go on the same initiative as their PC. In your post take care of the PC, then the companion.

  • Know your obscure rules. Most people know how the basics work, but if you have a character who uses something less than common, know how it works (Handle Animal, Sunder, Grapple, etc.)

That's about it! Looking forward to the game!

Art is why I got into RPGs (Elmore's Red box in the 80s had me hooked before I even new what was inside.) Cartography is still a fascination of mine; how man reams of graph paper have I burned through?

Fantasy cartographic art is the double whammy. This picture is incredible. More of this please!

Outside of the rules playtesting, I wanted to remark on the physical organization of content in the book. This has become, by far, the most common point of constructive feedback to come out of my lodge.

It's currently really labyrinthine. As I prepped my level 5 character for Arclord's Envy I had to flip back and forth an inordinate number of times. There were a lot of things I couldn't find without a lot of stopping and searching. It's just not very intuitive. I know consistency and page count matter, but the amount of flipping is too much. Where are the attribute bump rules again?

I prefer a set up where things that are universal to ALL classes are in one place. I think PF1 does this well. For example in the CRB, page 30. "Table 3–1: Character Advancement and Level-Dependent Bonuses". The rest of the information goes in the specific class section. I think something like this is easier to digest, and therefore kinder to new players and quicker for grognards like me.

I'd have to use PF1 knowledge to define it (unless I'm missing something.)

I apologize if this belongs in the Organized Play forum.

Playtest points aren't adding up correctly. It looks like the system is giving 2 and 3 for playing and running respectively (ought to be 4 and 5.) Additionally, it doesn't seem to catch multiple sessions of the same scenario.

I love languages. Almost all of my PF1 characters spend points in Linguistics to pick them up. Sure, they were too easy to pick up in PF1, but I think the pendulum might have swung too far the other way.

I'm not sure how to find a balance between the two, but I'd love to make it at least a little easier to become a polyglot.

While the skill options are listed, there is no instruction on which skill to use for a monster type, or am I missing it?

Thank you. First and foremost thank you. While I'm still compiling copious notes while play testing, I wanted to make a quick shout out.

I play this game because in the 1980s the Red Box artwork captivated me. Art matters.

I'm really digging the contributions of Setiawan Lie. I just wanted to throw that out there.

We live in a world of fire and sand. The crimson sun scorches the life from anything that crawls or flies, begs, fights or flees, and storms of sand scour the foliage from the barren ground. Lightning strikes from the cloudless sky, and peals of thunder roll unexplained across the vast tablelands. Even the wind, dry and searing as a kiln, can kill a man with thirst.

This is a land of blood and dust, where tribes of feral elves sweep out of the salt plains to plunder lonely caravans, mysterious singing winds call men to slow suffocation in a Sea of Silt, and legions of slaves clash over a few bushels of mouldering grain. Dragon despoils entire cities, while selfish kings squander their armies raising gaudy palaces and garish tombs.

This is our home, this Athas. It is an arid and bleak place, a wasteland with a handful of austere cities clinging precariously to a few scattered oases. It is a brutal and savage land, beset by political strife and monstrous abominations, where life is grim and short.

Here's the ctrl+P for all my games:

    1. I've been running games since the late 1980s, I've seen a lot of editions. I started playing PFS with Slot 1 Season 0 at Gen Con. I'm solid with the PFRPG rules, but everyone makes mistakes. I'll try to be as fair as possible.

    2. I'm a Venture-Lieutenant for Southern NH.

    PC Name:

    PFS#:

    Slow Track or Normal:

    ----------------------------------------------
