Welcome Amanda Hamon Kunz!

Wednesday, April 1, 2015

The most-welcome invasion of new Paizonians continues! You've already meet Linda and Crystal, but today long-time freelancer Amanda Hamon Kunz joins us as our newest assistant developer!

I'll let her introduce herself in her own words:

I can't believe I'm typing these words, but here goes: I'm Amanda Hamon Kunz, and I'm Paizo's newest assistant developer. It is fantastic to be here!

Tabletop roleplaying has been a part of my life since 2005. Back then, I remember poring through rulebooks and setting books with the distinct feeling that I had finally found a hobby seemingly made just for me. In late 2011, I merged my professional skills with my love of gaming and started freelancing for Paizo. Since then, I've worked on more than a dozen Paizo products and many third-party products. I quickly learned that making Pathfinder products is just as fun as playing them.

When I'm out of the word mines and away from the gaming table, I also enjoy roleplaying and survival horror video games, board games in similar genres, and a wide range of fiction (novels written in the Victorian era are a particular favorite). Needless to say, my husband and I are new to Seattle as of Saturday, but it's already starting to feel like home!

Amanda Hamon Kunz
Assistant Developer

So please join all of us in welcoming Amanda to Paizo!

Editor-in-Chief

(P.S.: This ISN'T an April Fools joke. Maybe next year, y'all.)

The lack of an April Fool's day joke only strengthens my argument that this is part of a system wide (pick a system and its probably to blame, its that BIG) effort by Sutter and Wes (and thus by extension The Free Masons (and probably Nicolas "no really i swear i'm not a Nosferatu" Cage) to enact the grand daddy of all joke days Double Duce Aprils Fool's Day

Well played sirs, well played:-)

Also welcome Amanda, have fun, Seattle is a blast! :-)

Congrats on your awesome new gig!

I believe the Paizo word mines are much shinier and even more extensive than the Kobold Press word mines. Beware the warehouse raptors.

Congratulations!

What kills me is all these recent hires started with RPGs more than twenty years after I did.

So...old...

Wait this was announced on...

Unless she is a figment off all of our imaginations, or I let a doppleganger in through the door the other day, she exists.

Also, welcome! Glad to have you here!

And so the arms race between different departments accelerates!

The question is, are you the developers' new weapon... Or extra cannon fodder?

Paizo Employee Developer

4 people marked this as a favorite.

Certainly a weapon.

BUT... despite the interesting drama folks can conjure in their minds, the real goal is for departments to work seamlessly with each other, so wars would mess things up. So, that means that Amanda (and Crystal and Linda) are weapons aimed at the deadline beast, focused forward at achieving more badassery.

Pay no attention to Adam, Amanda! We're having much more fun imagining mutually assured destruction between development and editorial! (Does this mean Customer Service is like Switzerland, or the DMZ between North and South Korea?)

Oh, yeah, and welcome!

Welcome to the best RPG team I know of!

Now make it exceed my very high expectations!

Just kidding, if you have been made part of the team, you are already A1 material!
