Bedlam Nesuschiy |
Bedlam shares his conclusion that Greater Teleport was used to escape by almost cornered suspect, which is scary as this is powerful magic. But it proves the situation is serious.
Surely the shadowdancer will follow upstairs if another issue occurs...
Miriel Magol |
"Teleported? This is growing exceedingly beyond my capabilities", Miriel worries the information Bedlam gives.
She watches the guests leave, looking with special concern at the poison victim. When the servant comes asking for them, she immediately agrees: "Why, most certainly. We are here to be of assistance in whatever measure is required."
Sylvester Solstar |
"Maybe but if she is so powerful why did she run?"
With these words Sylvester follows upstairs with the others.
Khellek the historian |
Khellek enters the room, looks around, and takes one of the comfortable seats near the book case. He seems distracted, spending more time eyeing up the shelves for interesting texts than he does paying attention to the conversation.
Miriel Magol |
Miriel straightens her dress and checks her hair on a mirror on the way upstairs. She enters the room not noticing the wariness of Numair.
"You requested our presence, esteemed sir. How can we be of assistance?" she says and bows to the gnome captain.
Sylvester Solstar |
Sylvester looks around at the others waiting for something interesting to happen.
GM Bret |
Placed Grog in the room.

Sylvester: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (13) - 1 = 12
1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 2 = 13
Everyone in the group enters the room except Numair who is at the doorway. As some of you are about to sit, Tespren turns to face you.
Khellek looks like he is about to react when suddenly four shapely women pop into existence. The women all have dark hair, dark eyes, a pair of small black horns just above their brows and small, black, leathery wings protruding from their shoulders. They have longswords in hand, ready to strike.
I am not going to have anyone be seated, but you do not have weapons out.

I would like to know something about what we are facing before I take my turn. Khellek's knowledge check is really good. He must be able to impart some wisdom on his poor students. ;)
GM Bret |
Khellek Recognizes the women as an unusual type of demon. As such it should be immune to electricity and poison and resistant to acid, cold, and fire. Use cold iron or good weapons when attacking them. If using spells, be prepared for spell resistance. If they attack with their claws, they can draw the victims life force to give them a temporary boost in health.
CE Medium outsider (chaotic, demon, evil, extraplanar)
DR /cold iron or good; Immune electricity, poison; Resist acid, cold, fire; SR
Vampiric Touch (Su) Gain temporary hit points equal to damage done.
Sylvester Solstar |
Sylvester has already almost had the life sucked out of him earlier this evening and does not wish to repeat the process. He draws forth a scroll from his scroll case and casts Invisibility on himself. He then stays very, very quiet.
Stealth, Invisible and Immobile: 1d20 + 40 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 40 + 5 = 53
Sylvester is Invisible
I don't know if these demons have any targeted spells or SLA but most do. If they cannot see an opponent then they cannot target an opponent. :)
GM Bret |
Sylvester fades from sight.
Red looks at Grog and tells him “You are at a fancy party! You shouldn’t have weapons. Toss that greataxe to the ground.”

Failure, you get out your axe and then drop it on the ground.
Blue decides to swing at Numair. She hits with the first strike but then strikes the doorframe with the followup.

Slashing: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Longsword, 2nd attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Slashing: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Green looks at Muriel and gestures towards Red saying “My sister is right. Toss that big curved blade away from you, it is improper to have that around at a fancy party.”
Same as Grog except it is your adamantine elven curve blade
Seeing how much armor Bedlam has in comparison to Khellek, Yellow steps over to where she can strike at the scholar and says “How rude! Don’t you how impolite it is to tell all!”
She then swings her longsword at the scholar. The strikes are accurate but not so accurate as to hit a vital area.
Longsword: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Slashing: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

"Ms Magool, I do believe the demon is somewhat upset with you and your sword. Do carry on."
GM Bret |
Bedlam smites yellow twice, causing her to pop out of existence after the second swing. Only her sisters hear the line about ending her misery. They do laugh at his line. Green says something in that weird language.
Grog pops Red with his first strike, and then Green on his third strike. Green never saw it coming for her. Neither of them really gets a chance to respond.
