Hello, everyone, and welcome to out new space station!
This is a place where we can gather to play Starfinder Society Second Edition games. It is a sister lodge to Flaxseed, Cottonseed, and Castamir Station.
We will start out playing playtest games together, and then move to the final rules when they are released.
More details will follow later; for now, this is a placeholder.
I look forward to exploring the new game rules with all of you!

My understanding is that they're going to be available from August 1st, presumably from https://starfinderplaytest.com

Hooray new space station!
Curious mind asks, what was the train of thought behind the lodge name's choosing? :D
Because it all releases at GenCon in "August" in Indi-"ana"? (It can't really be that simple, can it?)
Will there by SF2 Playtest at Gameday XIII? If we run one for the GD, does that allow early sign-up for other systems?

Castamir Station is named for a city in Golarion, and I wanted to continue that trend. I just picked a Golarion city that appealed to me, and checked with the rest of the team to make sure they liked it too.
The team decided against 'Zoo station' for copyright reasons, and the name 'Augustana' narrowly won out to 'Station McStationFace'

Castamir station is actually named after a slightly tweaked version of one of my favorite tournament modules, The Lost Island of Castanamir. I dropped the middle syllable to give it (what I thought) was a unique twist. The resemblance to Cassomir is purely coincidental! No one really had solid knowledge of Golarion when we headed to the convention then. Ironically, my first GM that year instantly knew how I created the name and from where I found it. He kept calling me Castanamir the whole time.

Yes? Hello? No, no, the bowels are supposed to be on the inside....
Just pull back the head until you hear a dry click...

Well, just don't do that then...
I have to run, my patients are waiting for me...

Augustana Station. 15 Erastil 325 A.G.
DiGriz looks around at the new station. He can't help but smile at the thought that it's here, finally. It's certainly sleeker and better laid out than his old haunt, Castamir Station. How he loved that place. Well, still does. While Augustana might be new and shiny, Castamir's has something about it that can never be replaced. It reminds him of the book his cousin named the old place was named after - old, worn, and comfortable. He'll still go whenever he can.... I'd love to earn my 5th nova someday!
He takes his drink and swirls it as he struts about the new digs. There's already a posting on the wall, already filled up, and then some.
Some things never change...

========Announcement==========
Now that the release date for the rules for Starfinder Second Edition are approaching, I wanted to re-welcome everyone already here, and also welcome those who come here looking for games in the next few weeks.
We are a lodge for playing Starfinder Society (second edition) here on the Paizo forums. Chatting in character is welcome in this thread. There is a discussion thread available for out of character talk. We also have a recruitment thread, in which GMs can recruit players, and players can look for GMs.
We do ask that only society games be recruited here. Unfortunately, that means (at least for right now) that Adventure Paths and Standalone Adventures can't be recruited here, because they are not going to be sanctioned for society play. If this changes, we will certainly welcome such games here, also.
I will post a link to the Society Guide and to the relevant portion of Archives of Nethys here as they become available.
If you have any questions about anything I've posted here, please use the discussion thread, or send me a private message.

A handsome reptilian humanoid with neat rows of multichromatic scales steps into the newly established station, and looks around in marvel. Upon his back, the telltale polearm of his people sheathed in oversized holsters and criss-crossing with an inordinately larged canon similarly sheathed at a neat angle of incidence, his plated armor like a saucer over which the dual implements come to rest.
What wonders await in Augustana... and beyond?
A couple of credsticks neatly arranged in a front pouch, he asks the nearest bystander where he can board a ship to Akiton...

"Oh, uhh," the ysoki responds, not expecting the question. The ysoki is kind of average looking with dark fur and wears a worn flight suit. The average ends with him covered in several grenades and other explosive looking devices attached all over his torso. While his fur is dark, it is also patchy, with the missing portions showing signs of burns.
"The shuttles for Akiton are down that hall and to the left," he says jabbing a clawed thumb back over his shoulder. "They pretty much are in dock numbers with 60s and 70s. Good luck liz. Something landed on Akiton, and it ain't friendly."

Hello Everybody, this is bright and sparkling Zoey!
Space is really really big, and most of it is really really empty. I've even been told by some astronomer that the empty parts keep getting bigger and the parts with stuff remain the same. Then he went on to talk about star colors and told me to be a good girl... weirdo.
So, because space can be really big and empty, I though I'd give some tips on how to survive in space!
So, you've found yourself in space, huh? What do you do now? Here's some helpful tips!
- Hold your breath. Space is really, really empty, and there's also no air, so unless you're one of those rock-type beings that don't need air, or a void walker, you're better off conserving your air. I can hold my breath for two minutes!
- Be a rock-type being that doesn't breathe or be a void walker. If you have to ask, you're probably not one of them, though.
- Wear a space suit! They come in really classy colors, and the nice ones have a big domed helmet so you can look at all the stars! Mine is red!
- Watch out for space whales If you're drifting in space, you can easily be mistaken for space-plankton. Hey! Humans are friends, not food!
- Be aboard a ship Ships are usually safe. I was once on board Radaszams ship, and it's really comfy! Sometime there's a nasty captain that goes 'Har-har we are pirates and we'll shoot you to bits', but they've never managed to shoot me to bit so far! And even if your luck is worse than mine you can
- Climb aboard an escape pod They come with a blinking light and battery that will provide you with oxygen for a long time. Maybe some handsome space captain will rescue you!
Oh, and my sister wants me to add one tip, but I don't think it's so exciting
- Stay on a planet Yes Momo, if you don't go into space, you don't have to worry about being in space....
I hope you found these tips helpful! Stay safe!

♫ All those garlic bulbs
Will offer no protection
Or save you from detection
As sure as I'm dead and gone
And those silver chains
You try to wrap around me
You know that they won't stop me
That won't work at all
I am a zombie
Try that on vampires instead ♫

Hello everybody, this is bright and sparkling Zøøey! The pronunciation is weird and unnatural, even for someone with an Akitonian accent. Yes, it's Zøøey with a special announcement. It's almost Spookyween, and that means scary stories, lots of pumpkins, Zo! on broadcast everywhere (but isn't he always) and best of all: cool costumes!
What are you all dressing up as this Spookyween? I got this really cool Radat costume, and Momo... where's Momo?
---
This is a special announcement from AbadarCorp Entertainment. For the benefit of doubt, the name Zoey is a registered birthname of Zoey Strawberry, and should not be confused with Zo! Weeeee!, the Spookyween holiday special show. To avoid lawsuits, we point out that Zoey is, and has always been pronounced Zøøey, and not at all as Zo! Weeeee! Please continue to support our artists!
