The Phantom peeks though the back wall a couple times, but doesn’t notice anything but spider webs in one room and dark emptiness in another.

With the foul evil horrible monstrous dogs dispatched, the dwarves stride simply into the lower entrance to take a peek.

The northern wing of the tower seems to have escaped the worst effects of the collapse, but rubble still litters the floor and everything is covered in a thick layer of stone dust. Thick cobwebs cloak the ceiling and hang down the walls like gossamer tapestries. A single archway stands open in the southwest wall.

Difficult terrain from rocks in this room, so 'rock stepper' if anyone has it would apply here. Also, ceilings are 15 feet up and that is relevant because...

As she slides into the dark room full of webs, Halali quickly discovers the source of said webs as a large net-like one zips towards her from the ceiling.

Surprise Round Attack vs. Halali FF Touch - Range: 1d20 + 5 - 2 ⇒ (10) + 5 - 2 = 13

The lady dwarf scout monk is thunked solidly in webbing, feeling herself entangled for the moment. The spider looks... like a spider. To add emotions like 'hungry' or 'angry' or 'calm' or 'suicidal' would be a bit odd.

An entangled creature moves at half speed, cannot run or charge, and takes a –2 penalty on all attack rolls and a –4 penalty to Dexterity. An entangled character who attempts to cast a spell must make a concentration check (DC 15 + spell level) or lose the spell.

The unusual dwarf, not used to the cramped confines of a keep, makes a tactical error. At least the spider sees it that way. The food struggles against the web and then steps further into its domain. The spider descends and strikes!

But all of the confidence in the world doesn’t help against a dodgy monk who flails around a bit, making herself hard to hit.

A small cocoon hangs in the webs, holding the remains of an unfortunate dog that fell into the spider’s clutches. The desiccated carcass is still wearing its leather collar, which is studded with lapis lazuli stones and has a silver tag reading “Kita.”
