Angelica Delathor |
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
She gets upon the circle and waves at others to come and join.
Whisper Black |
He slinks onto the circle and waits, still watching for what comes next.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
He then sees it and says, "Folks we have a problem, the door is closing slowly with each wink of fire going out. Also the armed statues are taking steps forward! Not all of them moved forward."
GM Wolf |
Another round passes, another flame winks out...
The statues are not advancing. One of the amazons sneeze and looks back at the statues and gasps, "They only move when you don't look at them!" One of the anubians breaks for it, it takes him two rounds to run to the doors. But he is able to go through! Two more flames went out in that time.
Mia Thornrose |
"Is it a race against time to see who can get out? No... there has to be something more!" She asks.
"Yes, I will take a spear and a shield too!" Once the shield is strapped on she takes the spear and begins to form a line.
Matthew_Locke |
He quietly says it to himself, "Thou shall prove thy faith" Then louder to the group, then adds, "Show your faith! Hold your ground! Face death head on if needed. Don't run away! Hoo! Stay next to your allies! Hoo!"
He follows and adds a warcry of, "Hoo," with the Olympians in response to Darius' declarations. Meanwhile his greatsword is sheathed, then he opens his blue screen to see the store and asks, "Who else needs a spear or heavy steel shield?" As he buys the shield and straps it to his arm, then gets a spear. He repeats as necessary for those who ask.
GM Wolf |
The gnomes likely needed help to get to the circle.
All the Olympians hold strong. After Matthew says, "Hold your ground," Darius replies with a warcry of, "Hooo!" Then after the next declaration all of the Olympians respond with the warcry of, "Hooo!" They continue after each statement.
Once Matthew stops, Darius picks it up, "No retreat! Hoo! No surrender! Hoo! Prepare for GLORY! HOOOO! Never retreat! Hoo! Never surrender! Hoo! If need be we welcome a beautiful death." His words take on more than mere words as by his oratory bravery swells in your hearts and a morale boost blesses all who respond, +5 on attack, +5 on damage, +2 to AC if standing adjacent to two weildimg shields as well. As the Olympians switch to spear and heavy shield in the manner of Spartans. They watch the East side.
After all this inspirational shouting, the gnomes pick themselves up and request spears. "Our shields are still strapped to our arms."
Angelica Delathor |
She asks, "Why would I need a spear and shield?" As she stands in the middle aiming down an arrow at a statue.
---
She nods at the words and puts her bow away and walks over to Matthew for her shield and spear, then joins Mia.
Alia Silverleaf |
No more words are necessary to convince her, she steps up and asks, "Heavy wooden shield and spear." With the items she goes and stands next to Angelica.
Zaidel |
perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
"Alright! Hooo!" Zaidel chimes in. "I'll need a spear, please. Hoo!"
"What's Death to a Caydenite? Hoo! Aeria Gloris! You're my family! Hoo! And I love you all! Hoo!
Amazons! Olmypians! Anubians! Gnomes! My brothers and sisters! Hoo!" Diplomacy: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (18) + 18 = 36
"Let's give 'em a good show!"
GM Wolf |
Kelsie responds in kind, "I too cant use a shield. But I will use my invisibility to give you flanking after my first strike." She was helping watch the statues with Whisper.
The amazons and anubians are long gone by now but no one points it out, unless you do? Or someone else... just saying. :)
Most of the statues don't move as your groups have pretty good coverage, though the flames continue to wink out and the door closes a couple more inches as well each round. By now a third of the flames are gone and the doors are a few feet shut.
Zaidel |
No. Zaidel doesn't want to diminish what he said.
GM Wolf |
Five in your group are in phalanx formation with Mia and Matthew on the ends. Everyone in formation with shield and spear gain +5 on attack, +5 on damage, and if standing adjacent to two others weildimg shields +2 to AC. As the other six stand in formation too. Not sure about Jon or Jean, no responses of what they do.
The flames wink out one by one until there are none left and the doors close.

A moment later you are outside of Elrick Manor about 100 feet away from the courtyard.
Jean de Montes |
Once they are out Jean looks around and says, "That was a strange dungeon. It was worth doing, but it took some fast thinking. Let's do the daily quest." Jean will click yes.
Jean feels his intellect grow and decides on the Beneficial Greater Minor Magic Item.
+2 Intelligence
Matthew_Locke |
As he goes through the screens he informs the group to what some of the items are, "A Blessed Loot Box gives you what you need. A Cursed Loot Box gives you what you want. A Loot Goblin Summon Card does that when you use it, a random loot goblin appears and if you kill it before it gets away treasure pours out of him. A Dungeon Instance Key opens up a special dungeon in a specific location."
Zaidel |
A moment later you are outside of Elrick Manor about 100 feet away from the courtyard.
An exhausted Zaidel looks around to find Aeria Gloris alone. "I..I guess the others who made it went back to their own places, ha." The satyr begins to laugh with relief that he and his party survived, and continues to hug and kiss his fellow adventuring party, overjoyed!"
Once they are out Jean looks around and says, "That was a strange dungeon. It was worth doing, but it took some fast thinking. Let's do the daily quest." Jean will click yes.
Zaidel laughs. "Sure.. What the hell?! Why not?!!" The cleric barks up at his blue screen. "Begin Daily Quest!"
"A Blessed Loot Box gives you what you need. A Cursed Loot Box gives you what you want. A Loot Goblin Summon Card does that when you use it, a random loot goblin appears and if you kill it before it gets away treasure pours out of him. A Dungeon Instance Key opens up a special dungeon in a specific location."
"Matt, do you kn ow what these Boost Cards do? Boost an ability? Or a Skill? Think it's part of the green screen?"
What time of day is it for the party? Is Whisper still with us?
The satyr also picks the +2 to one ability score (tbd), a Boost Ability Card +5, and a Dungeon Instance Card.
Matthew_Locke |
He replies quietly in response to Jean's word, "I have been in dungeons before but nothing so intense. One false move and many were dead." He sighs glad that he can let his nerves go for a while.
He cheers with Zaidel taking on the emotion.
He claims his rewards from the screens. He nods to Jean and Zaidel at his statement and begins the daily quest as well.
He then replies to Zaidel's questions, "Boost cards are another magical boost to the Chosen who have unlocked the reward system. I had found a few in my previous stent which I used to increase my hit points with. Yes it directly relates to the green screen. With your points you can save them or use them. The costs are pretty low at the beginning but there are abilities you can gain that are worth hundreds of points. I would suggest adding hit points to the max for the first few points you have then diversifying."
He selects the random loot box from the last quest first. 5d100 ⇒ (24, 3, 62, 32, 43) = 164
+2 to two ability scores (Str and Cha)
A Boost Card (+5)
A Cursed Loot Box: Boost Card 1d100 ⇒ 4
Rewards for clearing the Superior Dungeon:
1) +2 to one ability score (Str)
2) Please select two of the following possible rewards:
Dungeon Instance Key
Boost Ability Card +5
In the Reward System/Green Screen: He sees he has 10 points
GM Wolf |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |
The rays of sunlight can barely be seen. With the mist still in place you can see a dark gray sky above. Whisper is still with you.
The +2 to ability scores can easily be delayed even after selecting them. Though by the end of the week they should be established.
Boost cards are traded in for points in the green screen called Reward System. You can save or spend your points. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask in discussion.
Dungeon Instance card and loot goblins I do the rolls secretly!
The Blessed and Cursed Loot Boxes are new items you have not dealt with before.
Blessed: gives you what you need. Which means it might give you a clue to solving a problem, some specific class boost of some kind, or something along those lines. We likely will need to discuss a few options when you select this item.
Cursed: gives you what you want. So you get to choose off of the loot chart which you wish to have. Though the selection is still pretty vague:
Loot Goblin Summon Card
Dungeon Instance Key
Boost Ability Card, roll 1d100
Minor Tech (cell phone, laptop, stimpack, etc.), 10% chance of curse, roll 1d20
Medium Tech (Magical shield generator, super stimpack, etc.), 50% chance of curse, roll 1d20
*Lesser Minor magical item, chance of curses 10%
*Greater Minor magical item, chance of curses 30%
*Lesser Medium magical item, chance of curses 50%, chance of second curse 10%
*Greater Medium magical item, chance of curses 70%, chance of second curse 30%
*The stronger the item you select the higher chance it will have curses upon it. Roll 3d100. You may also pick which kind of magical item it is some examples:
Magical weapon - sap
wondrous item - hands
magical armor - full plate armor
Most of the other magical items don't have a lesser selection.
Random Loot Boxes: They are random it could be just a simple item, a cursed item, a magical item, or something truly wondrous. I had you roll 1d100 before though for ease of not having to add more rolls do 5d100. With this if your first roll is above 75 your other rolls may all be used.

In the Reward System/Green Screen: He sees he has 11 points...
Ability scores are increased. 6 points spent on skill points, so +2 to perception, and saving the other 5.
"So are we up to head down to the original dungeon, or should we head back to town?" He asks as he is brimming with energy. "Maybe we should head back to town to find items to help us deal with one of the trials, there was trolls, slimes, and what else?" Once the third creatures they could face is remembered, he asks, "Fire and acid work on normal trolls and they looked like normal trolls. What are mimics and slimes weak to? Which would we want to face?"
Zaidel |
The satyr then chooses +2 to Charisma, the Boost Ability Card +5, and a Dungeon Instance Key for the Superior Dungeon rewards.

Zaidel looks up at the Blue Screen in horror. "Sonofabit¢h!!"
The caydenite scrambles to remove his heavier gear, like his shield and backpack. "One things for damn sure, I better sleep like a godsdamn baby tonight!"Zaidel starts his pushup immediately. "One..Two (huff)..Three..Four..FU<K..Six.."
The bardic cleric will spend the rest of his time completing the daily quest, either hiding his gear and shield or giving them to a teammate to watch over.
Jean de Montes |
Jean starts trying to do all the exercise for the Blue Screen. He starts with the push ups as his muscles swell, and wonders how he is going to do the curl ups.
I missed the 2 stat bonuses. Int and Str.
Angelica Delathor |
She replies to Matthew with consideration, "I think we should go back to town, finish leveling up, and prepare to face the trials, we need to see what we can learn about slimes, mimics, and trolls." As Jean and Zaidel begin doing the exercises she asks, "Apparently they want to stay?"
Matthew_Locke |
"Yeah they are getting their daily quest done. Or at least working on it. Let's head back to town those of us with the daily quest will work on our run. Would you and Alia please help gather the discarded equipment of our allies? They still want it but put it down to begin their exercise." As he says this he pulls off his hide armor. Then he puts the armor onto his back to carry it. He puts his short spear onto his backpack with his javelin. Then holding onto the shield like a weight he begins to run to town, coming back every 5th round just in case. After every 10th round he comes back and takes a breather, walking with those laden with equipment.
Then he begins the 10 minute strategy meeting needed to transfer her to being his official ward.
Alia Silverleaf |
---
She shakes her head and replies, "But you were the one to act. Before any of is to test if it was safe." She then nods her head and says, "I think that would be best."
Mia Thornrose |
She gets caught up in the emotional cheers as they are alive!
She let's Alia and Matthew have some privacy.
She accepts the daily quest and follows suit of Zaidel, leaving her short spear and shield with his. As the group starts to head to town she picks up both shield and short spear again. She takes a few moments to pet her familiar.

I will also take the Dungeon Instance Key and Boost Ability Card +5. So many choices!
Huffing from his exercise, Jean says "The Manor doesn't seem to be going anywhere. I think we should go level and then we can come back."
Zaidel |
As you head back to town a flying light approaches and the mist disperses around it. He becomes visible and exclaims, "You actually survived, that is amazing!"
I'm not sure where this is in the narrative, but I'll have Zaidel respond.
The satyr looks up and squints into the light to identify the floating voice.Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (5) + 14 = 19
Mia Thornrose |
After claiming her rewards she stows a stick and lays a shining golden headband with sparkling rubies set in it. Her features become even more intense and beautiful.
She offers up to the group as they head back, "I have a wand that I could sacrifice for those sacrificing to Cayden. Though I don't know how much it is worth or what spell it controls. Can anyone read this inscription?"
Inscription is in Slylvan: Let them all die!

Zaidel looks at the inscription and can read it immediately. "That's in Sylvan, my dear. It says, 'Let them all die'. Most unfriendly."
Appraise: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
Spellcraft: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20
GM Wolf |
The fey offers happily, "Her office hours run until 10 in the morning, so once we get back to town you should have plenty of time to have a meeting with her."
Zaidel identifies the wand as Touch of Bloodletting. It has 30 charges. This spell causes existing wounds on a target to bleed profusely. You are not sure of the price of it but it is the range of thousands of gold.
Zaidel |
The bardic cleric relays his information on the wand to the paladin sorcerer.
GM Wolf |
After much talking, running for some, and walking you get back to Owl Port in a couple of hours with your guide clearing a path for you.
The morning seems crisp and cool, and there is plenty of shining sunlight. It seems that the mist has cleared away from the town and the river.
Mia Thornrose |
She asks the group, "So who needs to do the ritual? Jon, Jean, Zaidel, Matthew, Whisper, and myself? So my wand should cover the sacrifice needed for most of us. Are you all willing to pray to Cayden Cailen?"
Zaidel |

The morning seems crisp and cool, and there is plenty of shining sunlight. It seems that the mist has cleared away from the town and the river.
"Wow! It's morning already. My body is a little tired from all the exercises, but I guess the Status recovery reward made sure I wasn't exhausted," the satyr pondered. "I feel like I could go without sleep, but that's how I feel currently. Hope I don't get super-sleepy later."
During the walk back, Zaidel casts prestidigitation on those party members who did the Daily Request, removing any sweat, smell, or grime from the workout.
She asks the group, "So who needs to do the ritual? Jon, Jean, Zaidel, Matthew, Whisper, and myself? So my wand should cover the sacrifice needed for most of us. Are you all willing to pray to Cayden Cailen?"
"Mia! Thank you! That's very thoughtful!" The caydenite smiles with a happily-surprised grin.
Jean de Montes |
"I have this magical armor that I was going to sacrifice, I have been carrying it around to do the ritual. The wand is lighter and maybe we should hold onto it for now. I can try and identify it now if you would like." Jean says and holds up a claw to take the wand and examine it.
If she gives it to me I cast Detect Magic to examine it and figure out what it does.
Spellcraft to Identify: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22
Mia Thornrose |
She hands over the wand to the dragon to identify.
Jean de Montes |
Do I figure it out?
Mia Thornrose |
Yes Jean, Touch of Bloodletting. It has 30 charges. This spell causes existing wounds on a target to bleed profusely.
She nods in agreement, "How much do you think the armor is worth? +1 armor is at least 1,000 gold pieces. So it should cover three if not four of us. We can save the wand for 5th level."
