Mia Thornrose
"What do you think team, should we take the relics, I think we should, right Jock?" She offers.
Zaidel
Please tell me Zaidel is still unconscious, laying on the floor as this all happens? XD
Angelica Delathor
"Zaidel what are the chances of finding any of these relics later on?" She asks thinking she knows the answer.
Matthew_Locke
No I would have used my channels to bring everyone to consciousness at least... 9d6 ⇒ (5, 4, 4, 3, 3, 6, 3, 5, 2) = 35
"My vote is relics too. The next relic or magic item we find should go to whoever needs it most assuming they can use it." He agrees.
Mia Thornrose
I would have used... well I will save them then! :)
GM Wolf
Alia and Jon nod their heads in agreement, so does Angelica.
Not spoken yet is Zaidel and the sleeping dragon, who is going to get on and see like 30 new posts!
The archon leads you to the three relics and once claimed he says, "Excellent choices, Cayden would be proud of you. Go check out the other end of the hall you are going to love it, praise be Cayden Cailean!!!"
--------
At the end of the left of the hallway Downstairs:
You find a red faded cherry wood door. There is no handle or knob but on the wall you see a mug chained to the wall on a spike, and a dry empty basin beside it.
Zaidel
"Zaidel what are the chances of finding any of these relics later on?" She asks thinking she knows the answer.
The satyr staggers back to consciousness. Blurry-eyed, the satyr walks up and examines the relics, his eyes bulging. "Oh my Cayden! I think they're all here! All known magical items associated with The Drunken Hero! To find them elsewhere..or even all together is a freaking MIRACLE! If offered, take them! TAKE THEM!
The archon leads you to the three relics and once claimed he says, "Excellent choices, Cayden would be proud of you. Go check out the other end of the hall you are going to love it, praise be Cayden Cailean!!!"
Zaidel walks up to the hound archon who he initially fought. The cleric took out his tankard and first used create water, then enhance water and made some strong ale for the outsider, and offered it to the hound archon. "Fair is fair. And this caydenite keeps his promises."
Mia Thornrose
"Oh Zaidel your expertise is needed on this door!" She says laughing to herself.
GM Wolf
The archon laughs a mirth filled sound and produces his own horn and offers it to Zaidel. He takes the offered cup and downs the ale and belches loudly. "To glory, honor, and a never ending cup of ale!!! Oh you should have challenged me to a drinking game! At least you get an upgrade from that thing." He points to the rapier at Zaidel's side.
The drinker gains 1d8+10 temporary hit points, is enlarged for 10 minutes, and gains the benefit of a heroism spell for as long as she is enlarged.
Zaidel
At the end of the left of the hallway Downstairs:
You find a red faded cherry wood door. There is no handle or knob but on the wall you see a mug chained to the wall on a spike, and a dry empty basin beside it.
Zaidel walks up to the door and laughs also. The cleric, as before fills the basin with water with create water, then casts enhance water to change the water to a rich ale. Zaidel takes mug from the spike and dips it into the basin. Raising a toast at the door, Zaidel cheers, "TO CAYDEN!" And drinks the ale down.
GM Wolf
With the rite accomplished the door swings into the room. The archon is there too and shouts with joy. "You are going to love this especially since you are Chosen. Did any of you play Diablo when you were on Earth? Well this is a replication of town portal. The portal remains open until you return through it or when you make a new one. New Faces anyone, right next to a wonderful inn temple! Catch ya later!"
Matthew_Locke
Excitedly he exclaims, "I loved playing all the Diablos!!! Town Portal, that is amazing! So is there a scroll involved?!"
GM Wolf
The archon relays, "There are scrolls of it out there but we came up with an upgraded version. The first time going through one imprints a magical tattoo to your arm, it allows you to use town portal once a day, with a group your size you won't have any problems, except rembering which portal to take!"
Jeler
Germán is about to say something regarding large and small cities when he's interrupted by a blue portal appearing right before their noses, accompanied by a warping sound and allowing a group of people to materialize, literally, our of the blue.
"Friendly faces? Do you know them?"
Zaidel
The satyr takes a few moments for his eyesight to adjust. before him, stands a face he hasn't seen in several weeks.
"SIR DRYSTAN!" The satyr laughed. "By Cayden, it's good to see you!!" The fey embraced the paladin with his hands around his shoulders.
"It's good to see you made your way out of New Faces! How have you been?!"
Jean de Montes
|
Jean comes in and says, "Wow...new faces. Sorry to miss things. Those undead were icky and I was cleaning up. What happened?"
Jeler
Seeing that the newcomers are friendly and acquaintances of Sir Drystan, Germán offers his hand.
"Hi. I'm Germán. Pleased to meet you all."
Once more, he thinks he should adopt a new name, or a nick at least because typing my name in my phone with its proper accentuation is really a pain, and because I really use a nick in RL, so maybe I'll change it before the avatar reaches the 10 message mark.
Sir_Drystan_Goldenflame
He exclaims in response, "Zaidel! Jean! Jon! And Matthew! It is good to see you all in one piece or at least not in multiple pieces! This is Germain another Chosen that showed up after we went our own ways. We just got to New Faces ourselves, let's get a pint and we can share some meals, my treat if you let me!"
Alia Silverleaf
Alia tells Jean, "You were in the fight with us, out in front with Whsisper, we don't know how well the fight against the Hound Archon would have faired without you! Then we picked up three wonderful relics that our Caydenites are going to oogle for a good while. Then we went through the other door to gain the tattoo to do town portal once a day, look at your forearm." You see a few glowing blue sigils on your, left/right: your choice, forearm. Others show their new glowing ink as well.
Matthew_Locke
Matthew gives both Sir Drystan and Germán a hearty handshake, "I am always glad to meet new Chosen! Germán was it?! Yes i believe we were just heading for the inn. Come along!"
Jeler
"My friends call me Jeler. I mean, they called me." He makes a gesture with his hand as if throwing something down the loo. "Damn, well, I guess I'm still not used to all of this... thing. Sorry."
After the embarrasing moment, he's eager to change subjects while they all walk to the tavern. "You fought undead, you say? Are they as scary as one might think? Because... you all come from the same place I do... right?"
Jean de Montes
|
Jean waves at Sir Drystan and says, "Hey there Sir Drystan, welcome back!".
Looking at the new guy, Jean answers, "They were not that scary. But I am a dragon. So a bone-y dog just doesn't have the same level of terror it would have had at one time. So Jeler, welcome to the group! Oh, and just be aware that once we start something, like the daily missions, you have to follow through."
Jeler
"Daily missions? Oh, man, I'm so lost" he says putting his 'I'm so lost' face. "My adventures out of here have been all fine thanks to Sir Drystan. I'm still a rookie, I guess. What are these daily missions? Is that why I have these boxes here?" he asks, showing three unopened boxes labeled 'ACME Random Loot Box'.
Zaidel
The satyr giggles a little bit, looking at Germain holding the unopened loot boxes. "I'm almost certain those aren't mimics. I think they're safe to open. Where you making sure to save the boxes for later use?"
Sir_Drystan_Goldenflame
He excitedly says, "Jeler, you are just a rookie as much as I am. We are 3rd level, that ritual was crazy so many candles and the bonfire! Oh do you have the daily quest too! It is all the exercise that I do each day, do you guys know of the penalty quest?! It was horrible, I had to survive for 4 hours with a horde of undead upon me. I barely got out of there but that was when I was 1st level. Jeler you still have all three loot boxes? Open it and hopefully you can get a Boost Card, then you can do the daily quest too!"
Jeler
"Oh, I wanted to ask before opening them, but we got into trouble, and then came more trouble... and I forgot." Jeler laughs innocently. "I usually forget things." Then, once they're in the tavern and with a round ordered, he opens the boxes with excitement. "Reminds me of the time I used to play CCGs!"
So what do I do to open them? They say 'Random', so do I have to roll something?
Zaidel
"Yeah. I'm only half done with my Daily Quest", the satyr admits. "I need to complete that before midnight!"
"Oh, my manners!" The satyr with a silver symbol of a tankard hanging from his neck extends his hand to Germaine. "I'm Zaidel The Benevolent. Most just call me Zaidel."
GM Wolf
The rest of the group waves and watches leaving the prompting to the new Chosen.
As you enter the inn the bouncer says, "Welcome to Cayden's playhouse. Take a cup get some ale from the neverending barrel, offer up a praise or make a tithe. Then if you want something more or different go to the bar." As he points to a table covered in all sorts of cups, pints, glasses and more, then the barrel which has a foam covered and the distinct smell of ale, finally he points to the cup in his left hand and then the bar. "Oh and if you do start a fight or get dragged into one; don't use weapons or spells we look down on bloodshed. If you want a duel then take it outside." With the rules said he welcomes each of you with a fist bump.
Roll 5d100 for each. I will do one for you.
5d100 ⇒ (88, 79, 6, 58, 27) = 258 Then I consult the list.
You get to reroll twice using 6 and 58.
Wow that is a pretty nice roll for a Loot box!
After you open the first box a leather bag of coins materializes on the ground next to you. 500 gp As you open it up you also see a slightly rusty key that is made of black metal; and a 1st level scroll of your choice.
Jon follows Mia's example and stays relatively quiet.
Mia Thornrose
Mia enters the inn before anyone else, takes a pint slipping it into the foam she lets the ale drip off it before taking a swig. Then she drops a few silvers in the bouncers cup. Then she states, tithe for me and my friends. She sips again, spills a sip for Cayden and walks into the inn. She then says, "Yeah we have a party of about 10, where should we sit?"
Once sitting down she introduces herself, "Hey there I am Mia Thornrose, paladin of Cayden Cailean and newly forged Chosen. Glad to meet a friendly face!"
She casts a spell and her eyes glow blue and she exclaims "Oh WOW look he got a bag of gold and something magical! You sure are lucky!"
Alia Silverleaf
She follows suit after Mia. Once sat down she introduces herself as well, "Hello there I am Alia Silverleaf raging druid. Jeler was it? What class do you have?"
Matthew_Locke
He nods and says to the group, "Whisper would like to go to his temple, I will escort him. Go ahead and start without us."
They return in about 45 minutes. Walking in dropping a silver into the cup, grab a glass pint with a metal handle, and says, "For glory and honor, blessed Cayden!" He then chugs the pint, takes a deep breath and refills the pint. Pouring out a sip to Cayden.
He walks over to the group and asks, "What have we missed?"
Angelica Delathor
She waits for everyone to make introductions at the end she says, "HI! I am Angelica Delathor ranger and tracker."
Jeler
Jeler is so excited opening his boxes that, for some seconds, he forgets about everything else.
Second Loot Box: 5d100 ⇒ (77, 51, 64, 62, 58) = 312
Third Loot Box: 5d100 ⇒ (3, 73, 53, 5, 92) = 226
I can't see any list to where look these up, so I guess it's something only you have access to. Can't wait to know the results!
With the usual mix of feelings after opening booster packs, Jeler once more greets everybody, both those he didn't before but also those he did.
"Jeler. A pleasure." He's not sure whether his gonna touch a soft spot, but he asks anyway. "So you're all Cayden Cailean followers?"
Zaidel

"Thank you, good sir. May The Accidental God keep you!" Zaidel smiled at the bouncer after the fist bump. Zaidel follows Mia's example and makes his. tithe
Immediately unon stepping over the threshold, the cleric was struck by a strong familiar feeling of coming home after a long absence. Zaidel looked down at the worn, but highly polished floor, and bent down to rubs his hands over it. Sure it was a little dirty, but it was very welcoming. Holy ground, Zaidel thought."Jeler. A pleasure." He's not sure whether his gonna touch a soft spot, but he asks anyway. "So you're all Cayden Cailean followers?"
"Well, I can't speak for everyone", Zaidel nodded. "Mia explained she is one of Cayden's few paladins, while I'm one of his many clerics. Some of the others worship gods they grew up with, and some of us aren't that religious, which is fine."
Jean de Montes
|
"I do not draw power upon any divine beings. I think most of them are parts of a pantheon and so I am trying to stay open to that idea." Jean says.
Jeler
"Oh, neither do I" Jeler says while opening his last Loot Box. "I mean, yeah, I've got my favourites, and maybe I'll pick one, but they're not granting me direct power."
GM Wolf
Yeah I have the list and there is a lot of details for me, and for you to learn.
Another bag of coins drops down, 500 gp ,
Cursed Lesser Minor
Beneficial Greater medium magical item
I will roll these out when I have more time.
Third Loot Box: 5d100 ⇒ (3, 73, 53, 5, 92) = 226

GM Wolf

GM Wolf
Thanks to Joe finding the original posts here comes a description of the place!
It is a very large two story building with a tavern on the first floor and rooms on the second. Many beauties lounge from the individual room porches. The decorations are lavish for a tavern. There are many curtains pulled up along the walls and along the tavern's ceiling. Some of the curtains are down revealing that they work as privacy walls.
A few scantily clad women approach the group as you are drinking, they have painted faces but look pretty. Their leader confidenly asks, "Anyone up for a good time? We have a special rate for Chosen 50% off."
The mug of frothy beer with two rapiers underneath, the symbol Cayden Cailean, covers the open front door. Also taking a bit more time looking you can see other possible odes to the god. A large mug is above the fireplace and two rapiers are set on the wall under it. As each of the metal mugs have crossing blades etched on them.
If anyone goes to the bar to get something to eat or drink the red headed 'human' beauty offers, "Welcome to Old Reunions, a tavern that doubles as the temple to Cayden Cailean. You could go get more ale from the god's barrel. As testiment to his glory it shall never be empty, you may drink from it as much as you wish but if you want stronger or more unique drinks you may pay for them at the bar. So what will it be?"
To give you some privacy they unfurl four curtains which make privacy walls around a figure 8 table and 10 wooden seats that have cushions built into them. They tap a few of the glowing orbs hanging from the ceiling which get a little brighter. You can see that the brightness from several of the lamps make the symbol of Cayden Cailean appear on the walls.
Zaidel

"Good evening, ladies. Nice to meet you", Zaidel stood up to greet the working ladies. "That's a generous deal. What would you charge for two or three of you ladies to keep my giant friend company this evening?" The satyr points to the half-giant down the table. Diplomacy: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (19) + 20 = 39
Zaidel

"Good evening, miss", Zaidel greets the stunning woman as he goes to the bar.
"What do have that's stronger fare, but not dwarven ale strength. Something to kicks politely?" Diplomacy: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (2) + 20 = 22As the georgous redhead gets the drink, Zaidel asks another question. "Miss, do you know if Spade has been seen around tonight? A 'mutual friend' suggested I introduce myself."
GM Wolf
She thinks about it for a minute and offers, "What do you think, 25... no 20 gold?'
---
The red haed bartender looks a bit confused at Zaidel, she asks, "You want something stronger but not as strong as dwarven ale? So you want a mead, wine, or... hmmm. Spade, yes he should be up in his room, would you like me to send a runner for him?"
Spade of Steel
Several minutes after the runner leaves the page returns with a scraggly fellow in fine green livery, a golden circlet resting on his head, there are other golden and bronze pieces, an amulet, several bangling bracelets on each wrist and a ring on every other finger. The rings are a diverse set, one is gaudily large with a ruby dominating it, a black one with etchings that can barely be seen, a wooden ring with a leaf that seems to be bursting from it, and other golden rings with and without gems.
A rustic charm follows him as he is ruggedly handsome. To accentuate it you see his boots are caked with mud, his scabbard on his left side is scratched and torn in multiple spots, lastly his silver pistol has grime in most of the tight parts.
With directions from the red head the page returns to the kitchen as Spade walks over to your group's table. He asks, "So I hear you are looking for me?"
Zaidel
Zaidel reaches for his money bag and hands over more than expected.
"Here's 30 gold pieces. Remember the name 'Zaidel The Beneficent' for next time, ladies." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (10) + 20 = 30
---
"A red wine you'd recommend, please?" The satyr asks. "And a runner sent to Spade as well. Thank you." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (11) + 20 = 31
GM Wolf
The leader says, "I am Madame Latolito. Zaidel The Beneficent, we will remember that in the future. We have an extra large bed, do you want to pick out his guests or shall he? You could pick a girl of your choice as well in the spirit of friendship and great times in the future."
The red head asks, "Do you want a glass or a bottle of wine? Fangberry wine perhaps?
