The Amazons flirt as they reply to Zaidel, "There are several tribes, we get along fairly well. We all came from the foundation tribe that Ishtar was the matron of. There are plenty of dangers in the jungle so we help each other. Jumanji Jungle is a region on Arcanium. It is NorthWest of New Beginnings by about a month of walking. Ishtar is a confident and stern woman. She emphasizes and demonstrates the love of her people."
Bes replies to Zaidel with enthusiasm, "Anubian, yes Anubus is our grand benefactor. He made us to protect tombs of the Sands of Oblivion." Sorry a miss spell on my end.
Darius replies to Zaidel with wonderment, "Yes, we are all aasimars maybe godlings. We have not adventured much to find out which is possible. Though talking to anyone outside of the peninsula we don't find many that know about godlings."

GM Wolf |

"As I understand it, a Chosen is a soul plucked from another world who has died and reincarnated here on Arcanium for the purpose of defeating and destroying Dark Souls", Zaidel explained. "But until recently, we dsicovered you do not have to be from another world to be Chosen. Some become Chosen by sheer will alone."
Bes nods in understanding and replies with, "Interesting. No we are not chosen. At least we don't think we are."
"Good to here Garl Glittergold still kicking around the universe", Zaidel smiled. "I'm was on my way to New Faces to officially join Cayden Cailean's famila. The Drunken God also favors the bold and brave!"
The gnomish leader excitedly says, "Ah it is good you know of our patron! Cayden Cailean! How wonderful we meet such like minded folks! So you found a detour, instead of going to New Faces, you found a dungeon to explore."

GM Wolf |

Sorry I got ahead of myself, the Anubians are still with you.
Perception DC 12, you are able to react as the colossal throned statue’s eyes begin to glow. You feel an overwhelming force coming from it as well. What do you do? Here are several choices but not limited to them: drop to the ground prone, kneel, move back, move forward, or jump.
If you beat the DC by 10 you have enough time to grab someone and help them do the same action.
Or you can yell out a few words to warn others.

Feeling the overwhelming force coming from the statue or maybe fear her own response to it: fear. She drops to the ground as well.

YOU MEAN I MISUNDERSTOOD THAT ENTIRE POST?! Sigh! It was soooo good!
Zaidel drops to the floor and rolls right.

Zaidel can't help but smile stupidly. I'm flirting with Amazons. And their flirting back!! Diplomacy: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33
Bes replies to Zaidel with enthusiasm, "Anubian, yes Anubus is our grand benefactor. He made us to protect tombs of the Sands of Oblivion." Sorry a miss spell on my end.
"I'm so glad The Lord of the Dead has a race to call his own", Zaidel smiled. "Sometimes in ancient tales, Anubis seems pushed to the background compared to other Heliopolis Gods. I'd be honored if one day I could visit one of his temples. Anubis does a very important job, and doesn't get the credit he deserves." Diplomacy: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (15) + 18 = 33

Jean will bow before the statue as well.

GM Wolf |

Zaidel and Jean, chose not to aid Alia or Jon...
Jon's Reflex save DC 20: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Fire damage: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 3, 6, 1, 1) = 16
Alia's Reflex save DC 20: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Fire damage: 5d6 ⇒ (1, 4, 2, 2, 1) = 10 Saved! So half damage, both are on fire.
Surprisingly most saw it and at least ducked if not more. Then the glow from the eyes turns into a laser beam or some kind of beam that sets those hit by it on fire. Right before it hits Jon, Whisper trips and pulls you down. Jon and Alia are the only ones hit and burning.
Bes replies with intrigue, "Should you come to the Sands of Oblivion, I could show you around the active tombs. Maybe even go clear out some too."
Darius nods with understanding.
The gnome states, "The true life of an adventurer. Take fate in both hands and make it yours!"
As the groups slowly begin to recover, one of the Anubians gets up and runs for the door. Before it gets more than 20 feet another blast from the colossal statue vaporizes him, leaving its feet to drop and flounder.
Looking up at the colossal statue on the throne, then the eyes slowly stop glowing. It then begins to grin exposing massive sharp teeth. Its eyes also turn black with glowing irises. Then it slowly stands up. You all have 3 rounds before it fully stands up.

Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
He sees Jon and Alia on fire and calls for aid, "There is nothing I can do for them, help put out the fire!" Then he channels: 1d6 ⇒ 2
He moves to a kneeling position and looks around at the groups.
Round 2
He finally stands up to test a theory. "It looks like our worship of bowing to the god is done. What was the next commandment?"
At this point if one of them is still burning he runs over to hug them and try to smother the flames.
Then he channels: 1d6 ⇒ 5

GM Wolf |

Round 1
The gnomes talk amongst themselves in gnomish.
They continue to bicker and argue as they don't see anything they can do.
Round 2
Once Locke stands and then goes to try and help his friends on of the gnomes breaks from the others. He doesn't try to say anything thinking he won't get beamed now.
Which he does not get beamed.
The other gnomes raise their shields, bare the glittering holy symbol and begin singing to Garl Glittergold.
Round 3
He had already ran 60 feet and runs another 60 feet, 30 feet from the door...What do the rest of you do?
The group of gnomes begin to move away from the colossal statue. They move as a unit and get 15 feet.

Zaidel |

Round 2
She shakes her head and says, "This is a dungeon and dungeons have rules! What are the rules?!"
"NOT RULES! COMMANDMENTS!!" Zaidel shouts over the sound of stone on stone. "The Commandments of this Enlightened Temple are worshiping a god, praising a god, and proving your faith! Quickly everyone! Who do you worship and praise their name! Mia! Jock! Come here!"
The caydenite cleric takes out his tankard and creates water in it, only to enhance the water to ale. When Mia and Jock are near him, Zaidel shouts,
"PRAISE BE TO CAYDEN CAILEAN, DRUNKEN GOD OF HEROES! AND CHEERS TO HIS NAME!"
The satyr then raises the tankard in a toast, takes a drink and passes it to Mia with a nod.
Round 3
Zaidel then casts summon instrument and an acoustic guitar leaps into existence in his arms. The satyr begins to play his song, while casting ghost sounds for a drum machine and backup vocals.

Who got the hooch
Who got the only sweetest thing in the world
The working day was long
And the road is grinding on
And your body's winding down again
The tribal fire's here
And the circle speaks so near
And the simple truth so very much clearer
Who got the hooch, baby
Who got the only sweetest thing in the world
Who got the love, who got the fresh-e-freshy
Who got the only sweetest thing in the world
The birds and bees will sing
The jams begin to ring
The good vibes flow from me to you
The evening turns to night
The fire and moonlight
The dance of all who came before
Who got the hooch, baby
Who got the only sweetest thing in the world
Who got the love, who got the fresh-e-freshy
Who got the only sweetest thing in the world
Let's get real, let's get heavy
Till the water breaks the levee
Let's get loose, loose, who got the hooch

"Praise be to the Gods! Go Cailen!" Jean says as he stands up and says a silent internal prayer for his immunity to fire.

Jonathan Garrett. |

"Well, this is awkward," Jon muttered. There was a reason why he didn't have any faith abilities, as he patted himself down. Religion and he did...not historically agree on several subjects.
Still smoking, he knelt, and said, "Pater noster, qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua,
sicut in caelo, et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra,
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo.
Amen."

GM Wolf |

Round 2 and 3
Most of the groups are discussing options but hearing your group they turn to praising as well.
Kelsie moves away from the colossal statue and begins looking at the smaller statues, staying 30 feet from them. Then walking cautiously up towards a statue with drums. Once there music of drums begins to come from the statue Kelsie stands next to.
Round 4
The colossal statue has fully stood up. Its malevolent grin is massive for its face and sends chills down your spines. It takes two steps forward getting closer to the groups.

Zaidel |

Round 4
Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (18) + 14 = 32
Kelsie moves away from the colossal statue and begins looking at the smaller statues, staying 30 feet from them. Then walking cautiously up towards a statue with drums. Once there music of drums begins to come from the statue Kelsie stands next to.
Zaidel notices what Kelsie is doing.
"Hey! Look at Kelsie!" The satyr shouted and pointed. "She unlocked something in the smaller statues. Do what she's doing!" The cleric tries to copy Kelsie's method of approach. Diplomacy: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20
GM Wolf |

Zaidel is going to dash, double move, or run to a statue? With that perception check you can see that there is a statue with an instrument every third statue.
Round 4
The gnome running to the door gets to it... then *splat* he is crushed by the statue nearby. One of the gnomes hold out, singing, and praising Garl as the others fail their will saves and run.
The colossal's foot is 10 feet from the gnome and it already passed 40 feet.
Round 5
The gnome keeps holding up the holy symbol and singing. Either she didn't hear Alia, or is just staying focused upon her god. There is a flash of light as the colossal creature's foot comes down upon the praying gnome.
The other gnomes get 60 feet further away from the colossal statue.

Mia Thornrose |

Round 2
Mia and Jock rush over to Zaidel and join in on the singing. Praising Cayden and thanking him for adventure. Mia takes a drink from the offered vessel from Zaidel and helps Jock get a few swigs before passing it to another or back to Zaidel.
Round 3
They continue to sing to their ability following Zaidel's lead.
Round 4
She runs towards the huge statues, away from the colossal one. Almost blindly. 120 feet. So she likely has another 70 feet before getting to a statue.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Alia Silverleaf |

Alia didn't see the blast until it was near, with her quick reflexes she saved herself.
Round 2
She continues rolling until Matthew covers her with his body and luckily most of them were nearly out.
Round 3
She gets up, likely with Matthew's aid, and rushes over to the groups cleric. She takes the offered drink and thanks Cayden, "Thank you that I was saved by the nearest of luck!"
Round 4
She would let Matthew scoop her up as she watched the colossal statue get closer to the gnome, she yells, "No, gnome run, the statue is too close, RUN!"

Matthew_Locke |

Round 3
He quickly stands and offers Alia a hand. His greatsword is sheathed on his back as he needed his hands free to help Alia stop burning. He follows her over to Zaidel and takes from the cup, offering, "Great is Cayden may his luck always watch over us! It seems I have found my new god!"
Round 4
Matthew offers, "I can run faster than most do you want a ride?" With Alia's nod of her head he scoops her up and heads towards the statues, 40 feet move after a pick up, basically a CMB where he can't fail even if she was resisting.
Round 5
He then runs towards the side of the throne knowing he can move faster than most. Still staying away from the colossal statue as much as possible. 160 ft. run.

GM Wolf |

Round 4
They continue to praise Anubis primarily with howls. Unfortunately they don't initially hear the words of others.
4d20 ⇒ (11, 13, 3, 5) = 32
Round 5
Their howling praise to Anubis ceases as they see and then hear with their large ears pick up on the words being said. They move out and separate, each going to one of the statues.
4d20 ⇒ (2, 16, 9, 14) = 41
One of the four quickly goes to one of the statues not realizing the difference of what the statues hold or at least the significance. The resulting effect is being struck through its chest. With a heave from the statue the body slips to the ground dead. As another one is cleaved by a giant axe.
Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
Reflex: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
2 Anubians
3 gnomes
your group
4 amazons
Kelsie
4 olympians
Round 4
The amazons were quietly chanting together and easily hear the words of your group and move out.
4d20 ⇒ (4, 20, 15, 9) = 48
Round 5
Seeing utter slaughter of the Anubians they slow down not getting near any statue yet.
Round 6
They each find a statue to stand by except for their leader who will have to run past the Anubians to find another statue.
-----
Round 4
The olympians were the closest group to your own. So stopping their songs when you stopped.
4d20 ⇒ (17, 15, 8, 15) = 55
Round 5
Darius gives commands, "I am going for the statue with the flute next to the Anubians." Then follows giving orders for his party members to go to the closest statues to them with instruments.
Round 6
Seeing his companions finding safe statues he sighs in relief and then focuses on getting to another opening. He skirts 30 feet away from the statues and hopes he can make it around before the colossal one changes directions towards him.

Mia Thornrose |

Round 5
She continues to rush forward but seeing she won't need to run she just dashes but not sure what she sees stops 30 feet away. Double move. She freezes at Jock's words.
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Round 6
She wipes the sweat from her eyes but still can't see well. But she can see Jock and follows him to a statue with a lute. Then she hugs him, saying, "Thank you Jock, I am not sure what would have happened if it weren't for you."
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

He leads her over to one with a lute, with her beside him he moves to the statue. Double move.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26

GM Wolf |

Round 6
With the gnome now gone there is not many targets left. The colossal statue looks left and then right. Seeing Darius and Matthew run, he decides his next target. 1d2 ⇒ 1 He turns to his left heading for Darius.
Round 7
It is hard to see Darius as the colossal statue is now in the way.
Round 8
The colossal statue looks away from Darius and back at the room. It claps its hands and slowly walks back to its throne. The central dais lifts up a foot and shows another much larger circle around it, maybe 75 feet across.
At this point I am assuming someone helped the gnomes or one of them got lucky. Nonetheless, those that remain are standing next to statues that hold instruments and are playing music. What do you do?
You all hear a great clank next to the doors that you entered by.
End of Combat. For now...

Alia Silverleaf |

Round 5
As the foot of the colossal statue comes down she closes her eyes not wanting to see the effect and clutches to Matthew that much more. He was running for the both of them now.
Round 6
She opens her eyes to see Matthew putting her down. She looks up to see a statue with an organ between her hands. She weakly says, "Thank you."

Matthew_Locke |

Round 6
He finds a statue with an organ in its hands. He moves to it and puts Alia down. He back pedals looking at the colossal statue head the other way.
Round 7
Double move, 30 feet away from the statue, then head down to the statue adjacent to the throne which is three statues down. 30 feet along the side of the statues and another 20 feet before the end of his movement. 'Next round I should be able to make it to that... pipe instrument.' He thinks to himself.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12
Round 8
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
He hopes it is an instrument as more sweat gets into his eyes as he rushes forth. 10 feet to pass the 2nd statue, 30 feet to get in front of the last statue, and 30 feet towards it. He is still wary of it and keeps up his guard, drawing his greatsword ready to deflect an attack if needed.

Angelica Delathor |

Round 2
She moves away from the colossal statue and whispers to herself. She nocks an arrow and shoots it into the air.
Ranged longbow, AC 10: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
Round 6
She slowly stops and after clearing her eyes she gasps, 40 feet away is the statue that already killed a gnome. She moves over 60 feet to stand before a statue with a triangle in its hands.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20

Whisper Black |

Round 1
He helps put out the flames on Jon.
Round 2
He offers his hand to help Jon up, though how much he could help would be found out should Jon take it.
Str DC 15 likely: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11 Nope he falls over should Jon rely on his aid.
Round 3
He slips past the group and moves away from the colossal statue.
Round 4
He takes a round to run and stops 30 feet short from the closest statue.
Round 5
He looks over at Kelsie and moves away from her to find a statue holding a horn.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16

Round 5
Jean sees the safety of statues with instruments and flies to one that will keep him safe as he watches the big statue.
Round 6
Jean watches the scene and readies to flee to a new safe spot as needed.

Zaidel |

Round 5
The satyr, using his amazing banded legs, double moves to stand in front of thew nearest unoccupied statue, which oddly enough, held a tuba-like horn.
Round 6
Enjoying the ,music the statue now produced, Zaidel looked around to see if others had done what he did,
Round 7
"Come on, Matt! Hurry!!" The cleric shouted toward the warden as he got closer to a statue.
"Round 8
Zaidel stays at his statue until the stomping golem sits back down revealing his next set of doors. Once he feels it's safe, thew satyr runs toward the gnomes, hopes of comforting them and their loss, along with the Anubians.

GM Wolf |

Jean what instrument is upon the statue?
With no interference the gnomes run blindly to the statues...
3d3 ⇒ (1, 1, 1) = 3
They sure are lucky as they all end up with the same statue that has a pan flute on it. Though the music does not come from it. Jon is likely at the statue, three statues down from the gnomes. His is making music so something is wrong with the gnomes statue as they huddle around it.
The colossal statue does not sit down and begins to head towards, Jon, the gnomes, and Angelica.

Zaidel |

Perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (10) + 14 = 24
Are there other unoccupied musical statues nearby? Any near the gnomes currently?

Zaidel |

Zaidel shouts to the gnomes. "There's too many at one statue! There's one over by me, and another by Mia holding an oboe!
The satyr takes several long strides away from his statue in hopes the colossus will turn away from the gnomes so they can escape to a safe statue.

Angelica Delathor |

"Zaidel, should I go grab one of them?!"

Zaidel |

"If you can!" Zaidel shouts over to the huntress. The satyr takes the risk to run over to the statue holding the guitar.

Angelica Delathor |

She leaves her statue and moves around to the gnomes. She picks up one by the foot and drags him behind her. It takes her several more rounds to get the gnome to her statue. Looking up she sees the colossal statue bearing down on them. She quickly goes to the next statue to protect herself.

Zaidel |

Zaidel, you said you were running to the statue holding the guitar, are you running by the other statues or moving away first?
Zaidel follows Kelsie's example by only approaching the statue you intend to stand for.
Zaidel looks up at his new statue and sees a familiar instrumentZaidel gasps. "The Holy Axe of St. Eddie!!"
How much closer is Zaidel to the gnomes? I assume Angelica taking one gnome away from the statues will not stop the colossus.

![]() |

Jean would have ended up at the one with the horn.

GM Wolf |

Zaidel is also adjacent to the gnomes. Bringing one of the gnomes to your starting statue would remedy the problem.
In order is doorway, open, Jean, Jon, Open, Mia, Zaidel, gnomes, Angelica's gnome, Angelica, open, open, open, Alia, Matthew, Throne.
Likely Zaidel grabs a gnome and drags him to a statue. Also returning to his new statue before the colossal gets too near. Another two rounds and there would have been more death.
Now all of the statues are making music, then the colossal moves back to its throne. You guys have about 10 rounds before... The colossal begins to clap. The dais in the center raises up a foot upon a 25 foot radius circle. The statues stop playing music.
As Matthew steps upon the raised circle a blue flame comes into existence at the edge of the circle. As others join him on the raised circle more blue flames appear, until the circle is full as the rest of you step upon the circle. Which is in the center of the room, 200 feet from colossal and 200 feet from the doors. Then the doors slam open, and the flames all turn to the color of red.
... six seconds pass by, one round, and one of the flames winks out of existence.

Mia Thornrose |

Hurridly she states, "Grab a gnome Zaidel, I will move down."
Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7
