ok. enough time has passed to allow others to post.
roof top
You descend the stairs, eight in total, and immediately stop as the darkness brightens slightly, revealing an obvious sign of forced entry into the mini-fort. the door itself, composed of similar wood and design as the front door, hangs ajar, the area where a door handle would be located missing.

Ceirn |

Ceirn pauses at the door to listen before pushing it slightly to see what lies beyond.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23

Navarre "Two-Fingers" |
Knives in hand, Navarre follows Lazar and Ceirn quietly down the stairs and towards the broken door. It occurs to him that he may never get another opportunity to watch an Aiel stealthy approach, so Navarre watches Ceirn move, hoping to learn something about working silently. When the Aiel pauses to look and listen, Navarre does the same.
perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
That seems fitting

Lazar Tehran |

Lazar looks to his companions and gestures with his head to move forward.
The man slips his quarterstaff close to his side and deftly reaches out to the door. He motions for the others to hop in and scout about after he opens the door and steps to the side.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

You step inside, and immediately notice how quiet it is. sounds from the city are muffled to the point of nonexistence. Yet it is dark inside. You pause a moment to allow your eyes to adjust, and see that you stand in a narrow hallway. the hallway extends beyond you a short distance before it turns to the right. a slight yellow glow illuminates the wood floor and walls from down the hall.

Ceirn |

Ceirn nods and will move in that direction.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

ceirn takes the few steps and peeks around the corner. before him, he looks at a narrow hall about 2 feet wide that runs the length of the house before it turns right again. half way down, a strange orb hangs from the wall, a dull yellow glow, similar to that of a single candle, radiates from the glassy surface.

Lazar Tehran |

Lazar urged Navarre to go forward and then would stop Garl. That's when he would step up and follow the borderlander with his staff in hand but other hand beginning to pull at the pommel of his Dagger that was in his sleeve ready to draw and fight in the narrow corridor.

Ceirn |

Ceirn stalks down the hallways and again pauses before the turn to listen and then glances around the corner if he hears nothing.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22

Garl Bowyer |

Holding such an unwieldy weapon as his bow, Garl is happy to take rearguard as the team moves further into the building. He spends almost as much effort looking for something to pick up to use as a club as he does watching for any nasty surprises. No, the pottery won't let me strike twice. Bench is too big . . ..

RIZZENMAGNUS |

as ceirn heads down the hall, when he gets to within an arms length of the glowing orb, it flares up a little brighter. the dim candlelight radiance is quickly grows in intensity to akin to a room full of candles.

Lazar Tehran |

"I believe it's a light" Lazar says with a faint smile as he looks at Garl and then talks.
"Check the rear!" The paranoid man was unsure where to try and focus the potential fight. Especially if they would have to fight his way out of this place. Though he could fight with daggers and knives, he would rather use his staff, he was better with the staff, but this confined space made his staff almost useless!!!

Ceirn |

"Maybe an alarm...that would be noticeable." Ceirn says to those behind him and then continues forward.

Lazar Tehran |

"I mean if I were in your position and it was my backside...." He let it hang there as he flourished a bit with his dagger as he began to test the air again.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23

RIZZENMAGNUS |

Ceirn,as you pass the glowing object, you view its finely wrought features. Blue steel, twisted, wrap around the bulb, binding the glass orb within its containment. The iron twists around itself then twists around each other for several inches below the orb. The entire object is hung from an iron bracket.
You get to the end of the hall, and take a quick peak down it. Its a plain, narrow hall, a single window halfway down on the left extertior wall, and a full length mirror tilted up

Ceirn |

Ceirn shakes his head, "I have not. There is a window. It might have a fire escape or some way to get up and down." Ceirn will then move up to the window and glance out to see if there is a way up and down.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

would ceirn know about a fire escape. also, would there really be such a thing in this world? nothing says fire safety than a quick leap out a window lol
Looking out the window, you easily spot your Jak and Talia across the street from you. You look at the window, and it does lift up and lower. But there is a small bar set atop the lower frame of the window to prevent someone from opening it.
Beyond the window, the narrow hall runs another 10 feet and then turns right again, out of sight into the darkness. A narrow yet tall mirror rests within a thin frame, its mirrored surface angled towards the ceiling.

Ceirn |

Ceirn would not necessarily call it a fire escape, but cities tend to burn fast so I am guessing ways to escape existed in some fashion from multistory buildings. That doesn't mean this one has it, but it was worth checking to see if the others could get up here.

Navarre "Two-Fingers" |
ok. makes sense.
...anybody else?
I'm a little confused about the description. It sounds like we entered the 'forced door' into a hallway, proceeded to a turn in the hallway, where we passed a light and proceeded to turn again, finding a window and mirror. Is that about right?
Scratching his head, Navarre asks rhetorically, "No doors? Should we look for trap doors or do you think the light or the mirror are some sort of ter'angreal to let us into the rest of the building?"

Talia Ze'atsev |

OCC: If it helps any the first fire escape did not come into being until 1784 but was considered a luxury item and not required in buildings until the 20 century when some countries (not all) began to adopt building safety codes. As there was no motivation for building owners to provide such when not required to.
Talia continued to hang out with Jak and hope the others were to doing okay. She still wonder what the local residents might have noticed as that might help them understand the current situation.

Garl Bowyer |

Still in the back of the group, standing in a small hallway, Garl really doesn't have much of an idea what the rest are looking at, or why they've stopped. "What do you mean no doors? There's got to be a door. A mirror to go with the light? Try reflecting the light around, maybe?"

Lazar Tehran |

Lazar sighs and slips forward past Navarre and then Ceirn. He moves his Staff up and begins to poke and prod a bit looking about for any signs of things.
"I'll poke around a bit and see what I can find"He says trying to focus on the task at hand.
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14

Ceirn |

Ceirn will move along the hall looking for any secret doors with Lazar.
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31

from the forced door/rooftop, 3 step hall, turn to the right to go down a long narrow hall with a weird light, another right into another hall with a window to the left and a upturned floor mirror at the corner where the hall turns again to the right.
apologies for my poor descriptive words. we can just say that you guys are following the hall
Apologies to talia and Jak. i appreciate you both waiting patiently while the rest progress through the house. i didnt come up with an encounter for you both to be occupied.

Ceirn |

Ceirn will approach the mirror and reach out to touch it.
I did embrace the source already. So that might be fun when touching the mirror. I will do a weavesight roll as well in case that turns up something.
Weavesight: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

RIZZENMAGNUS |

lazar pokes the mirror causing it to pivot from it's facing towards the ceiling, and lower towards the hallway.
the faint images of Lazar and ceirn fill the polished silver surface of the mirror. As mirrors do, the images mimic what lazar's and ceirn's movements.
where does ceirn touch the mirror?

Ceirn |

I would touch the frame and if nothing happened I would touch the mirrored surface.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

when ceirn touches the mirrors polished metal surface, it ripples out from the touch point, similar to a rock thrown into a pond. the ripples distort the refection of ceirn (and the sliver of lazar shown), flowing around upon the surface.

Ceirn |

Did it feel solid or did it feel more like water where I could push into it?
