Distracted by the frightened animal, Navarre tries to calm it down as he holds onto the reins. Hearing Lazare say something about something wanting their blood, Navarre responds, "We need to get out of here!"
RIZZENMAGNUS
yeah i suppose that would have worked as well. honestly, didnt think of it.
The wind picks up, from a slight breeze to something stronger. Instead of howling, it seems to caress, to sooth, to desire. the voices intensify in their meloncholic description of desire for warmth of flesh, of ripeness of emotions, the tartness of sanity.
you rush up the long bridge, the lone lantern flashing and bouncing on Lazar's staff, the light casting a fitful glow, barely able to see the bridge below your feet. the faint white line grows fitfull, chipped and flaking away.
It's the flaking paint, suddenly gone from the stone below, that is your only warning that something equally dangerous will affect you. All of you glance up, and the singe lanterns glow cast aside the darkness (and the wind) long enough to show a gap in the bridge. A ten foot gap, across is salvation from Machin shin, but falling through that gap indicates either a short death from the black wind, or the long fall into nothingness beyond....
Acrobatics check DC 10 to make the jump. You do have a +2 bonus due to the bridge opposite you is two feet lower. However.... If you fail by even 1 or more, you will fall... So dont roll a 9 or less!

"I'm going for it, some help the mounts or at least throw the gear down after, " Lazar says as he lifts the lantern up high and goes for the leap.

Feeling the wind pick up, Navarre realizes the hair on the back of his neck is standing up. Finally getting the gelding to move in a forward motion Navarre follows Lazar and the dimming light. Moving with a purpose Navarre realizes there is a gap in the bridge. hearing Lazar, Navarre shakes his head. "No time, either they make it or they don't."
Releasing his gelding's reins, the black snorts and slows down for a second as Navarre continues moving, "Good luck boy, I hope to see you on the other side."
Seeing Lazar make the jump, Navarre hits the edge at full speed. Hurtling the distance, he keeps running, "Clear the way, it the animals make it they'll need room to land!"

Hot on the heels of Navarre, the horses leap the gap...
the sudden impact upon the bridge of both horses causes some of the stones to give away. With a horrific neigh, one of the horses falls with the stones, its scream sounding disjointed in the vastness of the Ways.
However, with the horse sudden fall, the Black Wind blows away from the group. A moment later, it's presence is revealed as the horses scream suddenly rises to a trill and suddenly cuts off!
You rush down the bridge and quickly find the white path. you follow it to the island that stands before the large opening of a Gateway. Luckily, you spot the Avendesora leaf still resting within the Gateway doors itself.
Navarre "Two-Fingers"
Turning to see if the equines make the jump, Navarre watches as rocks come loose from the bridge. Rushing to his gelding as the animal starts to panic, Navarre grabs its reins and then quickly the bridle pulling the horse forwards as Lazar's mule falls to its death.
Hearing the screams of the mule cut off, Navarre says outload, as much to himself as to the others and his horse. "We need to keep moving." NOt letting go of the reins he leads the black on towards the Gateway, seeing the leaf he nods, "Shall we?"
Wasn't sure if Navarre knew how to use the leaf, who opened the door the last time?

We have been in them a few times and both saw Lazar open it when we came in here.

We have been in them a few times and both saw Lazar open it when we came in here.
Oh yeah :)
Trying to keep the wild-eyed gelding under control, Navarre nods to Lazar as he opens the door. "Thanks Lazar." As the door opens, letting in the warm air and the smell of leaves and dirt waft into the dead space, Navarre pauses for a moment so his two friends could exit first. Bringing the Horse out slowly, it's nerves already calming with the smell of earth and sky, Navarre quickly looks around trying to orient himself to where they may be.
Any chance he can recognize anything (mountains/hills/rivers) to verify their location?

Once the others leave, Lazar runs the back of his flat fingers chin in a salute that many consider quite obscene. After that, he then walks into the portal and on the other side shifts and moves the leaf back in place closing the portal.

You plunge through the Gate, the icy freeze of transitioning between worlds (perhaps through worlds?) flashes over your, taking forever to move through your body, yet only lasted only an instant.
Whereas other Gateways all of them, there is a mound of earth, or a platform that allows someone to step through without stepping up or down.
this Gateway though, there is a sudden step down.
A two foot drop forces all three of you to sprawl out and stumble, hoping to retain your feet.
make a reflex save DC 12 to keep your feet
Around you loom tall, rocky mountains, large streaks of marble veining through granite peaks. Shrubs and scrub grass grow wherever a perch, a crack, a crag, anything that can accumulate dirt and water can provide nutrients for the vegetation. further around, thick clumps of stunted pine and cedar trees grow, several of them twisted and contorted due to winds and sun patterns.
You notice that a road, rather a hard packed trail runs several feet from beyond the Gate, perpendicular to the entrance. The path rounds a narrow corner to the left, and appears to follow a narrow ledge up further into the mountains.
Clouds are thick in the air above, dark, gray, rolling with activity. A flash of light illuminates the air mass above your heads, and a moment later the intense explosion of thunder hammers through the mountain pass. another light flash, followed immediately by another explosion of thunder! The very rock you stand upon shakes and vibrates with each retort. Your ears scream in agony from the intense assault, any sound is drowned out by the concussive blasts.
Adding to the confusion, you spot a young woman dressed in an odd brownish white dress sprinting down around the upward curve of the path. Her arms pump up and down, her legs fully stretched out, kicking up her dress, flashing brown slippers. Her hair flows behind her, and even from this extreme of distance, you can easily tell that she is running for her life from whatever is around the corner of the pass.

He manages to step back and down with little issue. It was oddly smooth for a man like him. As he reconstitutes to the outside world he sees a woman running and works to get the lantern off the end of his staff."I think troubles coming our way lads"
The domani man finally gets the lantern off and sets it diwn while working his staff, making sure it was still fine. Readjusting for balance he smiles and looks to Navarre the. To Ceirn.

Seeing the open air ahead of them, Navarre stumbles out of the gateway. Catching himself just in time, the black gelding almost rips it's reins from his hands as it stumbles as well. Holding on to the reins he tells the black, "It's ok boy, were out." Looking around at the mountainous pass, he sees and especially hears the lighting flashing, patting the black on the neck, trying to reassure the animal and himself, "It'll be ok."
He spots the woman running in white about the same time Lazar does, nodding at the Domani's idea, he turns quickly, dropping the reins of the still nervous horse, he turns to Lazar, "Watch Caba'dhai" He then turns to the horse, commanding, "Caba'dhai, guard." Gesturing towards Lazar.
Stepping away from Lazar towards the girl, Navarre nods to the the veiled Ceirn as he draws his curved bastard sword.

"There is a male channeler coming." Ceirn warns as he shifts away from the others and then works to create a weave on his wooden dagger before tying it off.
I 5 ft step NW to put some distance and then create a Wand of Fire on my wooden dagger. It does a d8+3 fire damage now, but shouldn't have a visible effect currently. I tie off the weave as a move action after. I have both Earth and Fire so its a level 0 Weave.
Navarre "Two-Fingers"
Not really sure what 'a male channeler coming' meant, or what the threat might be, Seeing Ceirn draw a weapon, Causes Navarre to look from him towards Lazar then the woman. Having spent more time with the Aiel than he had any of the others, he shakes his head. "If Ceirn is 'dancing the spears' I'll stay and fight as well."
Looking towards the black gelding he sighs, turning back to the woman. "Lady, if you need to run, take my horse. He's a good animal, his name is Caba'dhai. We'll find you once this fellow is dealt with."
Lazar Tehran
" So thats what it smells like" Lazar says and sighs as he looks about at rhe terrian. He then foes to find a place to hide. He was better at striking from the shadows. Let Ceirn and Navarre soften him up.

Jocosta is currently swamped with work. so i will be DMPCing his character until he can rejoin us...for the first time? lol
@ceirn: noted
Of course that's a man channeling! That's definitely not a woman! the woman snaps off angrily.
You dont understand! there is a man. an injured man! Back up the pass! Noleem's time is short! she shouts loudly, grasping at navarres arm and pulling hard, a desperation to her urging. Please! she begs, tears flowing down her eyes.
Navarre "Two-Fingers"
Raising an eyebrow as the snappish woman grabs his arm, Navarre curses "Blood and bloody ashes!"
He'd heard of male channelers, everyone had. They were supposed to dangerously insane, but if Noleem was back there they needed to help him. Looking from the woman to Ceirn, it dawned on him that Ceirn had known the man could channel. How did he do that? Looking back to the woman, he tries to shake her off his arm attempting to hand her the reins. "We're here looking for Noleem."
Not sure if the woman is running away from the male channeler or towards helping the bookmaker, he shakes his head, "If you must flee ride the horse, but before you go where is Noleem?"

holy christ! you go from one day feeling like crap to a couple days feeling like crap, and then everything seems to pile on at once, and next thing you know, its friday, you had spent the night reading a few chapters of Winter's Heart, and youre jonesing for your WOTRPG game, so you sit down to do a post and then the roofer shows up to repair your roof! Oh and your daughter says "dad, we need to fix my car", and you attempt to do so, but you dont see one single bolt on the valve cover, and when you attempt to pry off said cover the cover snaps! uggggggg.......
just a reminder gents, the map is editable, so you can move your own tokens on the board.
As you approach the gap, the wind begins to pick up. It howls and screams though the narrow gap. A fine mist begins to form in the air.
[ooc]you can make a weavesight check.
Navarre "Two-Fingers"
Seeing the woman point as she declares she won't leave Noleem behind Navarre blinks, not really sure what to expect. He looks from the woman towards his companions as they move forwards. Turning towards the horse, he tells the beast "stay" and hustles after the others as they approach the gap.
Blade in hand he contemplates what they've learned so far; 'The woman came running towards them, telling them to flee. She said a man was channeling to make lighting.' He paused for a second noticing the fine mist. then continued. 'She'd been emphatic that it wasn't a woman and she'd refused to not leave Noleem.' Turning he looked at her again, noting the studded armor, but her only weapon seemed to be a dagger. Shaking his head, he hisses under his breath. "Blood and ashes, I hope your an Aes Sedai in disguise."

With the rain and the wind, along with his Caidin'sor, Ceirn seems to be absorbed into the rock wall. THunder and lightning hammer face narrow gap, the lightning seeming to crack and snap more and more.
Between lighting bolts, between the thunderclaps, Ceirn just appears.
He leans in close to Navarre and Lazar to be heard.
There's a man. He stands without pants atop a rocky outcrop. Must be 20 feet tall above the ground. Around him, on the ground, the rock looks... the aielman lifts his hand, a confused look on his face. I know not what it is, but the rock looks like wetlander water. he moves his hand in an up and down undulation. I saw your children once, throwing rocks into a large water. What's the word? Pond? Into a large basin. the way the water moved, the up down. the rocks here, have that. He proceeds to describe the layout of the beyond as best he could, with Jocasta adding key details
between Ceirn and Jocasta, you can see the details of the map on the slides, you understand the layout, the height elevations.
the man in the hood is the channeler. the man with the beard is Noleem.

" Ceirn and I should avoid that rock stuff get to those trees and then try and attack the hooded guy. The. We can save our bookkeeper. Or someone saves Norm and the rest of us attack the channeler." he says as he slips the staff into the crux of his arms and then checks his knives. His many many knives
Navarre "Two-Fingers"
Peaking around the corner to get a better look at what Lazar was saying, Navarre looks towards the 'channeler then towards Noleem. Turning back towards Lazare he asks, "Are you planning on attacking at range with your bows?"
Knowing he could easily lift Noleem, Navarre wasn't sure if he'd be better helping with the distracting or grabbing the bookmaker. Looking towards the woman, he answers honestly, "I have no idea what he can maintain. Would you rather attack him or try and get Noleem out of harms way?"
