the Foretelling:

The tainted man rides the lightning in the mountains of mist.

Unsworn Lord, inverted steel, takes shelter amongst those that thought to fight fire with fire

north and north, trapped under ice, airach proflean awakens at Callandor's sign

south and south, the hunters must go, held and escape agit'dredan, they bring back a fate.

creeping death upon the pattern, it descends upon the mirk. one young soul, a thread to be snipped, sacrifice the one for all

mental anguish, soul destruction, everything fades to black, absolution is only sought within tel'aran'rhiod

oasis upon the plains, caught between the white and the shine; the water tastes of iron and flows red, the Dragon's answer for whom the bell tolls

Messenger of fear in sight, dark deception kills the Light. Out from ruins once possessed, fallen city, living death. Lurking beneath the sea, great old one, answers the call of his name

well, if people were on discord, they could have gotten the play by play over the last couple days.

brake line burst on thursday night, middle of a snow storm. was out teaching the daughter how to drive in the snow. i limped the truck home. Friday, i started working on the truck. decided i was going to run a single line from ABS unit to wheel, just replace the rusted line. Got the line, got the tools to do a double flare for the lines. and thats when the fun began. Friday, i broke the flare tool. bend the push cone. So friday night, i got a new one. saturday, i got the new couplers that were needed to screw the lines to locations. then i started practicing. spent about 4 hours attempting to make double flares, and each one sucked. and then! the tool broke again! after that, i said screw it, drove 30 minutes to get prefab brake lines with flare nuts premade.
sunday, i ran the line, got it looking nice. And then, when i went to bleed the brake, the bleeder screw snapped off. I had to go back into town and get a new caliper. and then come back home, put that on, bleed the brake line, and reattach the tire. and, while i was doing that, i had to go help my ex-step father with his snowblower for the snow that was coming today, and when i got there, the blower was running. He said "oh, yeah. i kept trying to start it and it finally started. was just about to call you". ugggg...

talia:
with the lamp light now pushing back the darkness of the room, and the brightness cast upon the desk itself, you easily tell that the blood is old. In fact, the longer you look upon it, you realize that the pool of blood is actually a stain in the desktop.

@lazar: nope, just need more light.

Garl steps around the corner of the hall and brings the light around the bend. the glow is cast far into the room, revealing what was simple metallic glints to be parts of larger machinery. your mind sees strange.... things in the room. Made of metal, yes! holding paper, some of them. but, beyond that... you are not sure what it fully is that you are looking upon. unless youre to venture into the room.
unless your backstory shows that you worked in a foundry, or in an actual print shop, no one knows exactly what the machinery is or called.

What must be completed books are stacked next to the opening in the wall, while a larger pallet of thick paper rests behind it. A large table that runs the width of the room stands between you and the things. upon it, you see presses for leather working, scissors, knives, paint brushes, and more. Further back, you see the machines, buckets, brushes, bottles filled with thick colored fluids you can only assume to be ink.

navarre:
Nothing out of the ordinary can you tell. given the room and the machinery, youre not really sure if you could tell if something was out of the ordinary.

ceirn:
you notice a narrow slit in the wall next to the stairs on the exterior wall. it looks as though hay has been stuffed into the slit and then a board wedged into the crevice.
It wasnt there in my plans before, but it makes sense to me that there would be an arrow slit in the wall at the top of the stairs where ceirn squats.

Realizing there was only complex machinery in the room, Navarre walks back out to the hall. knowing Ceirn had headed up the stairs, he calls back down the hallway. "Talia Sedai we are following the Aiel back upstairs where the mirror is. Do you want to join us?"

I always forget if the 'Sedai' goes before or after the name

In the Vault:

Talia calls back to Navarre "No you go Navarre, my time will be better spent here." and notices that Jak has entered the room. She gives Jak a nod, "Thank you Jak staying with me, it is appreciated."

An old but fairly large blood stain covers the desk, the fact that is old is of little concern, however the size of it says something bad had most likely happened upon this desk at sometime in its life time. Still she was here for a purpose to find a specific book but she was also very interested in anything on the desk that might shed more light on things.

Talia will start meticulously going over everything on the desk and once that is completed, and depending on what she discovers or does not discover, she will then branch out into the other things within the vault.

Furrowing his brow, Navarre affirmed in his mind that he did not understand women, including Aes Sedai, especially this Aes Sedai. All she talked about was going upstairs to see the mirror. Now, apparently once they were ready to do it safely, she'd lost interest.

Shaking his head he turned to the others, nodding towards the steps, "Shall we join Ceirn?" Without really waiting for an answer he headed towards the stairs.

talia:
You begin to slowly inspect the papers on the desk, the first being what can only be a map. Yet, it is an odd map, if it wasnt for the words under the dots youd think it was one of those childrens' dot drawing papers that help students learn quill control. A single line stretches across the paper from left to right. written below the dots, you see Far madding, broken stone, single slash white, two white slashes upon stone, and finally it says Stedding Jisuin. Below that, a narrow message is written. cache with three lines heavily pressed into the paper beneath it.

You look at the book with the quill sticking out of it. It's a leather bound book, large in length, yet rather narrow on width. On the top, written in bold black ink, it gives the date of 999NE, Danu 1-. You crack open the book to where the quill acts as a bookmark, and read the following:

Taisham 2, 1000NE

I grow impatient. I had sent the letters to colleagues last week, and while i know that, for some of them, the letter will take six weeks to a full two months to be delivered, let alone who knows how long for a reply, yet i must know now if the book is correct. there is an entry in the book, an old manatheron fortress in the mountains of mist, it is said to have a small cache of ter'angreal. My own collection, it would be nice to have it grow! and if the book is true!? then this would mean that i could find all of the missing ter'angreal from the Age of Legends! the boon to humanity would be immense! The fortress, rather, it's ruins, are said to be outside of Stedding Jisuin. I have done the research, and the history does prove this out. Manatheren did have a small fortress up near the Stedding. It was on the outer edges of the blast the consumed Manatheron during the Trolloc Wars. My nearest and most reliable contact, Kunala, is still weeks away from sending and recieving his missive. I must adventure forth. I must dare the Ways.

another entry below reads simply.

Taisham 3, 1000NE.

I have drawn the map of the Ways. My first attempt was rather crude. it was effective, but i miscounted the stones. It had to be redrawn. Now i have the correct number. I will mark my path with white paint, both on the way there, and on the return. I hope that the corrupting presence found within the Ways doesnt destroy the paint, and my return home.

Atop the stairs, you again see the hall stretch down before you, down to the front of the fort. Aside from closed doors, you do not see anything out of the ordinary...

Talia takes the map for along with the contents in the book, they do give some solid direction to pursue towards important items. Still she continues to peruse the book to see if there are any entries within it that give information about their current pursuit. Otherwise she will stow the book for later study and see if she can find the book, or any additional helpful information, that will help them pursue their current objective.

Jak, who had been wandering the room just looking, asks talia Well, anything good? Did you find any info about this guy who visited Navarre's dreams and was begging for help? Sounded to me like there was some urgency to it, but- the man cuts off, his gaze going distant. he grunts and shakes his head a moment later, well, my dreams are my own. what haunts them is what the Creator has given me.

ceirn:
you dont hear anything on the other side of the door[/ooc]

[spoiler=lazar]You easily unlock the door.

Lazar pops the lock on the door with ease, and the door opens with a loud creak, indicating that it hasnt been opened for a while, or that the hinges had some rust.
the door opens just slightly wider than a large man's width, and then thunks against an unseen object.

The smell of oils and grease fill your nose, along with stagnant air. Whatever is inside this room, this room has not been opened for a while.

She is almost startled when Jak speaks having become absorbed into what she was doing, so she takes a moment to process his words. "Well nothing good yet in a manner that helps us persue our current goal but perhaps useful later on. Further I agree, the dream did seem fairly urgent but the question is when does it become urgent. Dreams such as that which we experienced could be a fortelling of something to come or may have already occurred in which case hurrying could be of no use since it may have already passed or may not past for months or years. All we can do is trust that the reason for the dream is still pertinent and hopefully we can obtain a bit more information on what it may have been about and how to handle it in a fairly safe manner, if that is at all possible, prior to us arriving."

lazar goes down the hall, taking his time and being patient. he inspects the door jambs, the floors, the ceiling, any place that could hold some sort of hidden trap. And with each door, he lifts his tools into the lock and is able to free the hidden catch found within each security device.

that is...

door 6
except for the final door. A simple door with a simple lock, a layer of dust and rust upon it, exhibiting signs of disuse, or perhaps even non use. due to it's current condition, it's a little tight. You can feel the pin move, you feel the slight vibration as the internal spring compresses and decompresses. Yet the tumbler refuses to move. Annoyance flashes upon the mans face as he concentrates, finally feeling it start to move, only to have it suddenly break free! it twists around within the drum, yet his leverage tool catches inside, snapping the small metal bar that slips into the lock.

talia:
Jak grunts, exasperation clear in his reaction. From what i heard, a man's life hangs in the balance. By youre leave, I shall go inform the other's that we have more information.
Jak bows once, and retreats, not waiting for permission to leave.

A soft whistle comes from down the stairs.
Hey! Talia Sedai found something. Could be important!

"Yes Jak a man's life may hang in the balancing assuming the dreams were a foretelling of things to come as opposed to things that have long since occurred. You must keep in mind dreams do not allows foretell the future but sometimes reveal the past. Feel free to go, I hold no sway over you, but I did appreciate your remaining behind just in case." Talia nods towards Jak letting him know (if he cared) that she was okay with his plan of departure. She then goes back to investigating all that was still here. OCC: Okay Rizz did I miss something, as far as I know Talia did not find anything of importance and definitely nothing that would warrant the stopping of searching the facility for any wounded folks.

Also I told Jak, Talia had not found anything of importance. And while Talia did not catch Jak's last comment about telling the others she found something when she really did not -- she would have corrected that based on what she had communicated previously.

So I guess this might be interesting when the group returns to the vault assuming they return prematurely that is.

That being said is there anything else of note worthiness on the desk, and/or are there other books she can investigate. As that is her primary objective -- the book they came here for.

This was the last room up here right? Has the dust cleared enough to have seen in the room a little before Jak got up here?

eh, screw it. ill give a brief run down on the rooms

room 2:
You open this door and the room beyond is revealed to actually hold a hallway that stretches to the right. upon the interior wall there are 3 doors that stand open, and you can see cots and a small stand with a clay pot resting atop of it. a small, three legged stool sits under the stand, tucked away. The same goes for the second open door you can see from the door way. youd have to go in to see more.

room 3:
Rows and rows of ...junk. That is all how best you can describe what is in this room. stacked haphazardly upon the shelves, a cluster of chaos in an otherwise pristine location. some have tags attached to them, some are just resting atop of other untagged items. the air holds a mild mustiness, a slight tang of stagnation. Objects like old swords and daggers, helmets, shields, intermingle with cups, platters, trays, wooden barrels, cribs, a whipping fork, and more. Some of the tags say taken from aiel wars, removed from house fire, artur hawkwings silver spoon, and so on.

room 4:
you open the door and look upon a sitting room. A narrow high backed chair stands before a small fireplace built into the corner. upon the mantle, small portraits are framed and rest as though in places of honor, or remembrance. A wash basin with empty chamber pot stands opposite the fire place and chair. two doors stand closed opposite the door you walked in from.

room 5:
this room is empty, except for empty racks built within it.

apparently it helps if you hit submit post to submit the post.

Having opened all the doors and made sure there were no threats or occupants, Navarre sighed, "Guess we should go see what Jak is all excited about."

Keeping his grip on the 'borrowed' shortsword, he heads back to the room with the stained desk, adding, "We should still find out what killed that fellow at the door."

Entering the room the Aes Sedai was investigating, he steps to the side, letting is fellow adventurers join him before he dared speak to the woman.
