Aspis Consortium Knowledge:

- A contingent of Aspis mercenaries was seen approaching the Bandu Hills from the northwest—the direction of Bloodcove.
- The leader of the group is an Ustalavic aristocrat named Zaril Namoth, who is also known to be an expert tracker and hunter.

Golden Guardian Knowledge:

- Almost everyone at Fort Bandu knows the legend of the Golden Guardian, but no one seems to know anything substantial.
- Since the stories about the local boogeyman have circulated in the region for centuries, most people speculate that the creature is immortal or not a living creature.

Kobolds of Mount Nakyuk Knowledge:

- Until recently, the kobolds have largely kept to themselves. Most local people didn’t even know about the kobolds before the incident with Sharrowsmith.

Averting Eyes:
The opponent avoids looking at the creature’s face, instead looking at its body, watching its shadow, tracking it in a reflective surface, etc. Each round, the opponent has a 50% chance to avoid having to make a saving throw against the gaze attack. The creature with the gaze attack, however, gains concealment against that opponent.

Wearing a Blindfold:
The foe cannot see the creature at all (also possible to achieve by turning one’s back on the creature or shutting one’s eyes). The creature with the gaze attack gains total concealment against the opponent.
A creature with a gaze attack can actively gaze as an attack action by choosing a target within range. That opponent must attempt a saving throw but can try to avoid this as described above. Thus, it is possible for an opponent to save against a creature’s gaze twice during the same round, once before the opponent’s action and once during the creature’s turn.

I know Mage Hand. How big is this toy? Under 5lbs, hopefully?

Yeah, it's just a small leather bag made into the toy. I can't imagine it weighing more than a couple of lbs.

Hello, I just wanted to let everyone know I will be away from access to computers and unable to post this Saturday, 2/27 (all day). I will be back and able to catch up early in the afternoon (US/Pacific time) the next day.

I've linked the new slide whenever we moved to a major area, and then from there I just uncover areas that you specify you're going into. I prefer to let players continue moving their tokens to reflect what they say they're doing. This has seemingly worked for the most part (e.g. when I figured out what corner Ari-Ani was hiding it, because they'd moved their own token).

Must the gaze attack be actively initiated by the basilisk to be a threat?

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area of Effects Templates | ◆◇↺♥️⛨☐☑

It's activated in that it is used as a standard action. The risk is that you don't want to be looking at it if it gets irritated (hence the caution, rolls so far). Talethia calming it helps alot.

It takes a standard action to put a spell back in a pearl of power. Then you use an action to cast the spell.

And fortunately the item need only be in your possession (on your person) when uttering the command (so, no move actions to get it out and put it away).

You and Gaskar or the only ones who would remember about this (at least from this table).

I'm emphasizing it because while the game did get slowed back when the website shook people off of it for a bit, the *characters* would remember this as it had only been a couple of days prior that you helped the grippli village fend off the Aspis agents looking for the same artifact.

It might be because I missed part 1, or because it's just been too long, but was there something other than finding our missing Pathfinder (and the usual treasure hunting) we were doing here?

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area of Effects Templates | ◆◇↺♥️⛨☐☑

Finding Sharrowsmith is the main objective here. *His* objective had been to figure out things about these ruins. Of course by this point you've gone all of the way to the temple in these ruins, you've found his stuff, and not him. So... y'know.

Can you map out the area where the ceiling will fall if we knock out the columns?

Also, is it something we can time? Do we know which pillars and how much damage for each?

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area of Effects Templates | ◆◇↺♥️⛨☐☑

The columns themselves fall, over depending on where you damage them. So the squares they land are not pre-determined.

Yes, you could time it by damaging a column on your turn when an Aspis agent is in the right place to be crushed by it (unless you just want to take it down to make difficult terrain).

It's all 6 pillars, and no you won't know how much damage they take until it happens (nor what their hardness rating is).

It's been my understanding that if you share a hard corner, it acts as cover and stops AoOs.

Mentorship and PC Level Bumps | Pathfinder Provisions | Downtime | Area of Effects Templates | ◆◇↺♥️⛨☐☑

Checking again, yes, it appears you're right. I misremembered "any line from any corner" as granting access to the hit, but in fact if any passes through a wall, then cover.

Cover (emphasis mine) wrote:
When making a melee attack against an adjacent target, your target has cover if any line from any corner of your square to the target’s square goes through a wall (including a low wall).

Red is unconscious but with nonlethal damage (because someone intended to question him later). I haven't moved him off the map because he could be easily revived and then his position would matter.
