Aryas Katsu |
”Oh man, this thing is so ugly!!!"
fort : 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (15) + 19 = 34
He then draws a tea of transference and drinks it to shift his inner ki.
Move to draw, standard to drink and with that: Spending a ki point to regain a smite evil use! Swift action: Smite evil on the thing.
"Shelyn! Sarenrae! Help me to destroy this being!" he shouts.
Then Aryas shifts his focus on the creature!
AC 27, Touch 27, FF 20 until it is his turn again as he is loosing the dodge bonus from crane style but he get net +4 deflection bonus to AC from smite.
Leopold R. Bibbard |
"Give him the what-for, lads!"
Leo shouts encouragement, keeps up his stink eye, averts his gaze, and takes total defense.

Hekk |
"Got anything in that arsenal of miracles to keep it from sucking our awesomeness?

"Psionicsology offers courses in Restoration, and of course, if you'd accepted my offer after our last caper, you could've had 30% off. With what you learn in those courses, you could remove thetodaemons with your eyes closed. Literally."
Tathane Halfbarrel |
Tathane keeps his eyes shut. "If it's as ugly as you all are saying, I don't want to chance it." Tathane shoots a couple arrows from his bow in the direction where he remembers the creature being.

Sorry! Leguin delays, it's too crowded!
GM MattMorris |
Hekk takes a big chunk out of the creature, though its tough skin resists some of the damage. Tathan's arrow hits, but doesn't do much damage. Leopold keeps his gaze on the creature, though its dead eyes remind him of the snakes that lived at the end of his bed. LeGuin stays back as the others fill the hallway and Aryas sends up some prayers.

Wowsa, that will do it! I'll post follow-up tomorrow, but we're out of initiative.
Hekk |
Hekk, who continues to keep his eyes shut, wails on the dead body not knowing that he is beating a (more) dead opponent.
Aryas Katsu |
Aryas is so glad that the creature is finally destroyed!
"Ahh, that was really an ugly thing!!!" he says panting.
He immediately drinks two more teas!
Two more tea of transference and 2 ki spent to get back two smite evil uses.
"I feel empowered again. Okay, let us see what we have here." he says and casts detect magic.
Aryas Katsu |
He also taps himself with his wand.
CLW Fey foundling : 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Hekk |
Hekk opens his eyes, and then opens them wider.
"We did it. And we did not lose our awesomeness. Now let's see what that thing was guarding."
Hekk waltzes into the room, looking for gold (or more trouble, he would like that).
Hekk |
Leo did, but Hekk did not notice.
GM MattMorris |
Hekk boldly ventures into the room and finds an opal worth 350 gp, an aquamarine worth 500 gp, an ornate silver flute worth 180 gp, and a total of 528 gp.
Without the threat of an enemy, Tathane is able to closely examine the fountain at the end of the hallway. The font constantly expels inky water that never overflows the basin.
This does seem to be some sort of magical effect. Knowledge (arcana, planes) could tell you a bit more.
Hekk |
"Nice. Guys, the dead guy had some nice gems and a really pretty flute."

Hekk puts the flute to his lips and toots a few notes to a simple melody which actually sounds pretty good. (barring unforeseen complications)

"I'm finding it hard to concentrate after looking into the eyes of that SP. I need someone to help me get clear."
Doctrinal differences notwithstanding, can I get help with a Restoration? Also, if anyone needs a trick reimplanted, let me know. I'm pretty sure Hekk has GOW. I can implant one more. LeGuin? Tathane?
Aryas Katsu |
Aryas looks at Leo and seems to be concerned.
"You really do not look good Leo! You should do this reading stuff that you do ... maybe that helps you?!?" he asks.
Aryas suddenly eyes go wide when he sees the silver flute and he is impressed that Hekk wants to try to play!
"Very good! You will be a master one day if you train everyday!! Look, I will use my flute and we can play together!" the almost human Ifrit says and takes out a masterwork flute and plays.
Perform Wind Instruments: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19
Tathane Halfbarrel |
Tathane takes a cautious look at the dead creature. "Aryas, you're right. Pretty ugly. Remind you of any girls you've kissed?" Tathane chuckles and moves to the end of the hall where he takes a better look at the fountain.
Knowledge(planes): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Aryas Katsu |
“Oh Tathane my dear friend … not everyone can be so lucky with the girls as you!“ he says smiling.
Hekk |
Hekk takes a pause from his tooting to pontificate.
"Sounds like a waste of time. The whole girl thing that is. Unless she is a sparring partner, which I don't think you are talking about."
After a few more minutes of flute playing, it strikes Hekk that he is wasting time. Looking down the hall he sees a pair of unopened doors, far more attractive than some girl.
"We should be moving on," he announces abruptly and heads towards the double doors and checks them out, but moves aside if Tathane moves in to check them.
perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (18) + 11 = 29
By my records, Leo did indeed endow Hekk with a second Gift of Will.
Aryas Katsu |
”One day you’ll appreciate the awesomeness of partner also beyond a fighting sparring partner.. but maybe you find both! I mean two of my sisters could beat my ass any day in physical combat for instance!! But … ehh … don’t hit on her please!!“ he says shaking his head.
Leopold R. Bibbard |
"Many thanks, Branson," Leo says, holding his head and looking wan.
LeGuin |
Leguin gladly accepts Leo's Gift of Will inception, and stands shoulder to shoulder with Hekk at the doors, ready to press on and end this evil threat.
Aryas Katsu |
Aryas moves to the font and tries to manipulate the magic inside.
No idea ... trying UMD to just do something??

The double doors don't appear to be trapped, and--though they are bolted shut--they yield at a mighty shove from Hekk.
This large chamber has several carvings that jut from the stone walls, casting erratic shadows around the room. These carvings have all been badly chipped, and the frescoes between them smashed. Four obsidian pillars reach a domed ceiling sixty feet overhead. A circle of pulsing purple light is inscribed on the floor between them, with a fist-sized stone resting at its center. The broken remnant of statues stand in alcoves to the north, flanking a pitch-black pool.
To the south, an imposing creature looms. The entity resembles the skeletal torso of a winged, four-armed giant draped in tatters of liquid shadow.
"Intruders here, in my sanctum?" The chilling voice booms through the chamber. "No matter. Every one of my followers that you have slaughtered has fueled my apotheosis! Your demise will empower the Cradle of Night and I will ascend, becoming one of the Forsaken!"
