Yes, you can move.
The spiders don't pursue you into the main area. Once you leave their lair, they slink back into the shadows.
Out of initiative, if you want. If you go back in after them, we'll continue in initiative.
Hekk
|
Hekk looks sorely disappointed.
"Maybe if we shot one it would come out after us. Do you think it knows what we are saying?"
Aryas Katsu
|
Can we stay in initiative please? Aryas would come out of delay immediately if they do not move in our direction and double move inside.
Aryas has seen enough.
“Let’s do this now!!“ he says and runs inside.

Now there's a hero with a low thetodemon count!
Tathane Halfbarrel
|
Tathane looks to the ground and shakes his head. "No, no, no. This isn't going to work out well at all." But seeing that his comrades are committed, he digs into backpack and pulls out a wand. He waves it in the air in front of his chest.

Is any of the ground difficult terrain? Hekk will follow Aryas but I'm not sure how far he can get.

I had put Bold Stare and Ill Omen on Red. It doesn't really matter which one gets the spell, but if these are mindless undead, then Ill Omen can only go on the one that's affected by Bold Stare.
Leo delays.
Does Ill Omen work this round? High is good for me. No.

It doesn't appear to be trapped. The walls are thick enough that you can't hear anything on the other side of the door.
Branson Davelock
|
As an aside, and helpful safety tip to any rogues, or rogue wannabes, in the group: you can take 20 when searching for traps. It is actually one of the examples given in the PHB.
Hekk
|
But if you do any ongoing effects will probably have their lifetimes shortened significantly unless they are really long effectgs. Hekk's shield spell, for instance. Not sure if there are any other spells to be wary of and his shield spell will probably expire soon (or perhaps already has) anyway. Just something to keep in mind when taking 20.
Tathane Halfbarrel
|
I frequently forget about taking 20 so thanks for the reminder. And I'll have to remember the 20 minute penalty since it's an important consideration too.
"Looks like this door is free of traps. Does anyone want to lead the way? Hekk, there might be more things to fight."
Hekk
|
"Yea, it would be my pleasure."
Hekk yanks the door open, perhaps a tad more roughly than necessary. He looks a little surprised at how easily and violently the door flies open. Like he didn't know his own strength.
"Hekk"
| GM MattMorris |
The secret door was locked, but it's not out of Tathane's capability.
Through the secret doors: Arching ribs of stone support the fifteen-foot-high ceiling of this oval chamber. Tattered tapestries hang from curved walls to the east and west, each depicting a scene of natural fury—a devastating tornado to the east, and a looming tsunami to the west. The focus of each of these natural disasters seems to be a single humanoid shape cloaked in shadows.
Two statues flank this room, one to the east and one to the west. The western statue appears as a figure of a fierce woman, while the eastern statue appears as a depiction of a stern, elderly man. Each statue bears a metal trident clutched in its stony grip.

These two aspects of Gozreh were both pretty pissed with Haramil. I tried to tell them that an eternity of torment was maybe overkill for being slighted by a two-bit clan chief, but they dead set on it. Gods.

Hekk

"Say, do you think we should leave an offering or something? I mean, if they already have a hate on for this dude, and we are headed into his tomb, we may need all the help we can get."
Sheesh, what the heck do you give a god?
Hekk rummages around in his stuff and exclaims [b]"Aha!"{/b]
He pulls out some weird device and places it before the statue of the fierce woman.
The item is a Buoyant balloon (you twist to create a big atmospheric balloon)

When Hekk enters the room to present his offering, the mouths on both of the statues move and start speaking in a language that is not Common.
The tone is threatening.

As Leopold enters, the statues repeat their message, which he can now understand: “You tread upon corrupted ground. Turn back now, unless you come before us with the sacred sign of whispering wind andrippling waves in hand. You will not be warned again.”
Leopold R. Bibbard

Thank you, Branson. You wouldn't happen to have the sacred sign of whispering wind and rippling waves on you, would you?

Once Hekk reaches the 'safe room', he narrows his eyes and calls out, "We can always come back later when we know what the heck they are talking about. Let's move on. I got no beef with a god and I'd like it to stay that way."

"I'm with you Hekk. I mean, if you're scared of something, I know it is certainly something to run away from."
Tathane starts to back out of the room.
