You return to the sunlight skies of the overworld, though this time your walk through the shadows feels peculiar, as if the darkness is tugging at your soul, pulling you away from bright skies and warm sunshine.
When you arrive on the surface, the area seems garishly lit, with the open expanse of air yawning above you, endless and seemingly threatening. You must fight the urge to shade your eyes or squint, even when in the shade of the trees.
Aryas slips the cradle of night onto the ground in the center of clearing, where it will surely get direct sunlight for most of the day. There is, at first, no change, but as the day goes on, you are able to bear the sunlight more easily and the breeze seems comforting, rather than grating, on your skin.
After hours of waiting, there is a sharp crack, and a spiderweb of fissures covers the surface of the orb. Hekk strides into the clearing and swings his bardiche down on the sphere, splitting it cleanly in half. Each of you feel a shadow of the pain from the blow in your chests, then it is replaced with a feeling of sunlight that warms you to the core.
The remains of the cradle of night become dull and opaque. When you return to Venture-Captain Heidmarch at his manor, he congratulates you on your adventure and tells you that the he'll send the fragments of the relic to Skyreach for study.

Hekk sighs with satisfaction, even though he was secretly hoping that a big demon or devil or something would pop out of the broken orb.
"Good job everyone," he says, and not for the first time. "We have taken on and defeated giants, dragons, serpentine monsters, and, worst of all, shadowy psychiatrists that refused to die and suck your awesomeness. I couldn't have done it without you all."

Aryas starts laughing. He claps all of you on the shoulder.
”Hekk is right!! We really grew together. I am still eternally grateful for you all rescuing me in that haunted house. I really thought that I’d die naked… “ he says and grins.
He looks at Leo.
”And I’m so happy that we really were able to reunite you with your father!! I really hope he’s well by the way!“
