Cliff Cardinal's take on Shakespeare's As You Like It. It's an Indigenous response to, well, a lot of things in Canadian culture, and it doesn't pull its punches. Not an easy read, but one would hardly expect it to be, and it's very good, I think.

If I understand the spell "immunity" of constructs, any spell that doesn't ignore Spell Resistance just doesn't work. Kind of like SR:9999. I don't know of any cleric spells that say Spell Resistance: No.

I did a quick search yesterday for fighting constructs with hardness and the main thing I saw was buff the parties attacks sky high (for damage) or have adamantine weapons. Odd that an adamantine dagger would be doing damage! But I guess that is why it costs +3000 GP....

I thought that was more a golem thing? Constructs in general get a frustrating amount of immunities, but I thought the blanket thing (before getting into schools and descriptors) was Fort saves, not spell resistance. I'll roll a Knowledge check in-character to see what Aith knows when her next round comes up.

The old standby curse might be an option, depending on how the named bullet works out. I'm thinking of maybe trying to land a malfunction next (confusion for constructs), but that targets a Fort save, which I suspect aren't animated objects' weak point.

Hmm.... Maybe that reply was to a different version of PF?
Construct Traits doesn't mention magic immunity. It does say immune to anything requiring a Fort save, but Bestow Curse is a Will save so maybe? Still needs casting the spell and a touch attack.

OK, This doesn't make ANY sense! Malfunction, a spell that only targets constructs requires a Fort save? And constructs are immune to anything that "requires a Fortitude save (unless the effect also works on objects or is harmless)." I re-read that three times and still can't see any way that makes sense!?!

FYI, the Adamantine weapons is a hardness thing. "Weapons fashioned from adamantine have a natural ability to bypass hardness when sundering weapons or attacking objects, ignoring hardness less than 20." Does not apply to DR, but armor made from adamantine gives DR, and increases the hardness and HP of the armor.

Just to put that thought out there: There is no rule in pathfinder, that you need to kill everything you find, even if it is hostile.

Of course, if you want a gargantuan lion trophy and have sufficient room in your bag of holding... Putting its head on the wall would be underwhelming though.

Did a quick check on the tongues spell and you need to decide which language you speak. So it would probably have failed, as I'd expec tyou to adresss the giant and not the dogs. And they have surprisingly no language in common.

I think Aith gets a turn before Yasmeena goes again, right? She's one of the proponents of this diplomatic approach too, so what Yasmeena does depends on how she reacts.

LOL. I read that but was commenting on the languages that I know. If those are hell hounds I do speak Infernal which I think is a language that they know. Not checking the monster rules so I'm not sure.... But, I don't speak giant without magic like your tongues spell.

Decisions, decisions, about leveling up. Thought I'd finally start taking levels in Eldritch Knight (there will be one more of plain arcanist, just not now), so quick question for the others, since I'll be giving up a boost to spells per day, but get a bonus combat feat: Spell Cartridges or Blind-fight? Neither are particularly exciting, but both are prerequisites for more exciting and thematic stuff - Aith certainly doesn't plan on getting dragged into melee if she can help it!

Or something completely different?

Spell Cartridges is nice if you're shooting a lot, but it has seemed in the past that Aithaloessa generally prefers to cast spells, only shooting when absolutely necessary. Are you running low on ammunition? If not, advancing your feats towards whatever you need Blind-Fight for (Ricochet Shot Deed, I'm guessing?)

Yep, Ricochet Shot if I go the Blind-Fight route, to lean into the (engineering) thing that Aith's got going on.

Spell Cartridges is building towards the improved, Infused version, again mainly for flavour, but there are probably some good touch spells that would be fun. Mainly the potential to bring out just how silly Aith can be, though.

*Thrusts pistol out in the direction of the baddie.* "BANG!"

I'm really sorry I've fallen so far behind! This past month - huh, to the day, it seems - has been brutal, between brain chemistry nonsense and a pedal-to-the-metal start to the new year at work. I think it's the first time in a while that I've seen the whole department from us lowly underlings to the powers that be reaching the end of the week and collectively, openly venturing, "That was ... a lot, right?"

I think we've cleared the nastiest bump for the moment (fingers crossed!), and I'll try to get caught up here over the weekend. Sorry for making the martials do the heavy lifting! :(
