Background:
Yasmeena was a slave since her earliest memories, held captive by gnolls along with many other children including her dear friend Haleen. When they were both about twelve years old they managed to escape their wagon as it was attacked by wild animals. Because it happened at the break of dawn, Yasmeena believes Sarenrae answered her prayers.
Haleen encouraged Yasmeena's performing skills, praising her dancing and playing the oud. Yasmeena was talented, though strangely shy and preferred playing to talking or singing growing up. For many years they survived on busking money combined with the payoff from doing odd jobs-- guarding and hunting mostly. Occasionally they stole, though Yasmeena only took from people who were evil or dead. A few months ago, Haleen began acting strangely, leaving Yasmeena to do things on her own, and not returning for days at a time. Finally, she left Yasmeena a note that she was going away and not to follow her. Ever since then Yasmeena has been terrified about her friend. She began performing exclusively at inns in the hopes of finding news of Haleen from travelers. Only last night Yasmeena found the driver who took Haleen out of town. He says she left him in the vicinity of an old ghost town called Kelmarane. And tonight, by Sarenrae's grace, Yasmeena has learned that a caravan traveling to Kelmarane is seeking mercenaries to accompany them! It seems the goddess has set a path for her. Description:
