Hello everyone! I was a pretty popular DM back in the day but I've gotten busy with real life and have been inactive or about 5 or so years. I've decided to dust off my account and get a few games started up. This thread is for crypt of the everflame. Character creation details are as follow:
Stats-I am going to be generous and let you do 2d6+6 for stats, roll two sets and take your favorite.
Races-Limiting to core races only
Books-Any PF1 material is allowed but I'm not a huge fan of the psionic adaptaitons.
HP-Max HP at first level, roll after that
Gold-Average starting gold
Traits- 2 traits
Any questions can be asked here

Mr. Hebeme |
Read a little bit about Kasen on the wiki and will be dame up this this:
Finn Gingerberry
Halfling
Class: ?
His head is topped by a thick, unruly mop of cinnamon colored hair which frames his round weathered face.
Finn’s father Jaks owned a small tobacco farm, in Nirmathas' Marideth River Valley a days walk from the city of Pert.. When Finn's father Jaks wed Wyssal, Finn's mother, their future looked bright and soon they were blessed with many children, twelve boys Nim, Jymmie, Tuck, Clem, Jaymes, Ferdwin, Hob, Newt, Sandie, Finn, Thom and Samford. With the family’s growth and hard work their future abounded with many prospects and possibilities. The farmhouse the family lived in was spacious and overlooked the surrounding countryside.
Unfortunately, the continued conflicts with Molthune prevented the farm from reaching its potential. On many occasions the hostilities forced the family to abandon their home and burn the season’s crops as they withdrew. This pattern continued, raid, retreat, return and replant for most of Finnl’s young life. Each time the family rebuilt with steadfast determination and hope for the future.
Frustrated by the destruction of his farm, time and again, Jaks decided he would rebuild the farm one last time. However, this farmhouse was like no other, it was built underground in the side of a hill, with a stout round door. Jaks named the farm Berry-Burrow and he stubbornly continued to farm the land.
However, the land proved more stubborn than Jaks, or the Molthune army, and the family struggled. Poor crops coupled with dying livestock left the struggling family with few choices. So with heavy harts Finns's youngest brother, Samford, was shipped off to apprentice with the clergy in Pert. While Tuck, Finns's second youngest brother, was apprenticed to a traveling bard. While Finn was shipped off to live with Jaks cousin Jimes "Short Change" Iggens in Kasen.
The Gingerberrys are known for their reddish colored hair and Finn is no exception. His head is topped by a thick, unruly mop of cinnamon colored hair which frames his round weathered face. He has a warm smile and his emerald colored eyes appear to miss little.
Probably a little long for a 1 level module but I was inspired.
So I’m definitely playing a halfling still unsure of class.

A few things I forgot to mention yesterday while I was at work and threw this up:
-This is a first edition game. I do not have enough experience with the second edition to try gming it yet and this is an old module and I don't have time to convert it.
-NO 3PP MATERIALS, please. Everything pazio published in 1e should give you more than enough to work with.
-The game will be run here on the site.
-Not that it matters because the game is run here but I am in the EST(GMT-5).
-I will be posting from work 99% of the time and as far as I know(could change at any time) those will range from 1-9PM EST.
-Please try to link your characters to the town of Kasin which is where this adventure starts. Ideally you would have grown up here and are just coming of age to take on the ritual to pass into adulthood(you can be older, just be creative why you haven't done the quest yet).
-For a little bit of background information, you can check the campaign info tab as it will be getting a small blurb of info shortly.

Thanks GM! I believe we played in the past? I think I have a couple of your games on my deactivated list.
Background skills is a system to give players a couple more skill points per level, to be used in skills “not as relevant” as the “main” ones. It’s a lot more important for martial or other classes that don’t get many skill points like clerics.
VMC is variant multiclassing. It’s a system that allows you to get a secondary class with very reduced benefits in exchange for a good chunk of your feats.

Not that its needed right now but I've typed up a tracking sheet of people who have rolled stats for this as well as what jobs people are leaning towards. It will be much more helpful later if this gets beyond the first page before I close it but figured since I had time at work I'd get it started.

Hey DM Mathpro, welcome back, so I've been reading your recruitment threads, seems like your getting good applications throughout.
I had played in a short lived 'Quest for the Everflame' with a paladin. With your permission, I would like to apply with him for this game.
I was wondering are you considering doing the whole "The Price of Immortality" trilogy here. Or just 'Quest for the everflame.'? Also How long are you thinking about leaving the recruitment open?

stat: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16
stat: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 6 = 12
Would go with the first set: 15, 13, 16, 16, 11, 15
The Character:
Sariel is a fifteen year old (he’s big for his size) who has trained to be a warrior like his mother and father, unbeknownst to him he is a "Chosen One” of Erastil (Paladin archetype.) He and his pet pig (emissary familiar) Proudsnout, will participate in undertaking the Quest for the Everflame.
Brief History
Sariel began life as an orphan. His Mother, Patrice an attractive woman and a proud warrior in her own right, left Kassen seven years before she returned heavy with child. She had gone to the south to fight in the war with Molthune. She earned a reputation as a competent and resourceful warrior, she also fell in love and married her commander Captain Cornelius, a tall charismatic leader of soldiers. He was also well thought of and respected by his commanders and subordinates alike. In a tough fought battle Cornelius lead a flanking attack that turned the tide and brought a Nirmathas victory. Cornelius died of his injuries. He laid abed several days, it was during that time Patrice learned she was pregnant and she promised Cornelius she would name their son after him, after the funeral Patrice began the journey back home to Kassen.
Patrice moved in with her brother the blacksmith, Renet. When it was time for the baby to be birthed she was assisted by Renet’s wife Anelise. As the birthing process seemed to be going wrong they sent for Goodwife Crowley. After more than a day and a night Sariel was born, but the Goodwife was not able to save Patrice. Renet and his wife had no children so, having always wanted kids, they raised the baby as their own. They named him Cornelius after Patrice’s wishes, also naming him Patrick to honor her and finally giving him another name, Sariel, after Renet and Patrice’s father. Something Renet had promised himself he would do if he had a son.
After Sariel was weaned and able to help around the community, he showed an affinity for animals so the pig herder hired him to assist with the pigs. Sariel, adopted one sickly little piglet, naming it Proudsnout after one of Erastil servants. As he got a little older he assisted Renet in the shop, becoming a competent metal worker but still better with animals. It wasn’t long before Sariel was a successful furrier and took care of shoeing horses, so his uncle could focus with metal crafting.
About this same time their neighbor, Sir Dramott, noticed Sariel’s size and strength and asked if he could spar with the knights page (and eventual squire) Mortimer. While Sariel and Mortimer never were friends they both became competent warriors, and Sariel developed a deep respect and admiration for Sir Dramott, who true to his word not only paid Sariel for his time but taught him to fight. When Sariel was not working or training he would spend his time at the temple and with the young Father Prasst.
Sariel took an immediate liking to their new neighbor, the young priest. He loved the parables of Erastil, asking Anelise to read them over and over to him, and reading them himself after Anelise taught him how. He enjoyed being in the temple, the peace there seemed to call to him. He even volunteered to clean the temple, he and Proudsnout would always keep quite as Father Prasst would speak to parishioners or as people of other faiths would come to pray there. Sariel was very happy with his life and home in Kassen.
He wants to repay Kassen and its fine people by serving somehow. Not happy with being just a Furrier he realized he wants to be in the guard. Renet had told him that when he was big enough to participate in “The Quest” that afterwards he could apply to the guard, as long as he still worked in the shop when he could. So Sariel, with his mother’s shield and morningstar in hand; wearing the scale armor that Renet made for him that winter, was prepared to ask the village elders if he could participate in “The Quest.”
The plot point
As a “chose one” he doesn’t realize his true calling is as a Paladin. He believes his: training and association with another Paladin, his love for the ‘parables’ and the temple of Erastil, his kindred spirit with Father Prasst and his pet pig named “Proudsnout”( who he imagines speaks to him) are all just coincidences. So the revelation of things like divine grace and smite evil take him totally by surprise when they manifest.
His original story can be found here. and here.

I might run the entire trilogy but I don't want to commit to that right now because we need to finish this first. And as far as how long I'm leaving recruitment open I'm going to update the list of submissions and see if I can put a party together today. If we're still missing parts I'll leave it open until Tuesday. If we have enough I might be able to get the game play thread up today but I won't post after 5 PM EST tonight until Tuesday. So it might be better to just leave things open until Tuesday...we'll see.
So long rambling answer short recruitment will either close today or Tuesday.

Here's my character. Shadoo is a dwarf unchained monk (no archetypes).
Shadoo was born in the mountains on the northern outskirts of Kassen, almost leaving Nirmathas and close to the borders with Lastwall, but like his clan in general always kept a good proximity with the townsfolk of the small settlement. It was common for the dwarves to mine the silver and tow it to Kassen, and the people from the town would then sell it on medium sized boats navigating the Tourondel River - and, after some days, the boats would reach Lake Encarthan through the Black Mist barge run by captain Walren.
Even though his youngest years were fairly normal, from a young age Shadoo was interested in theology and was sent to study on the monasteries near Tamran. When he came of age, as usual for the other dwarves living near Kassen, Shadoo returned to the city to take the rite of passage known as the Quest of the Everflame.

I've been wanting to play this module for a very long time

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 3) + 6 = 14
Hmm, both sets are nice. I'll see what I can come up with.

Recruitment will be closing Tomorrow. Those of you who still have outstanding characters should be getting a PM from me sometime today as a reminder to finish your submission. I need to update my list of submitted characters first so I don't PM the wrong people. Should have the updated list up by midafternoon today depending on how busy work is for me.
