SQ:

Weapon and Armor Proficiency
Sorcerers are proficient with all simple weapons. They are not proficient with any type of armor or shield. Armor interferes with a sorcerer’s gestures, which can cause her spells with somatic components to fail (see Arcane Spells and Armor).
Bloodline Powers You have always had a tie to the natural world, and as your power increases, so does the influence of the fey over your magic.
Laughing Touch (Sp) At 1st level, you can cause a creature to burst out laughing for 1 round as a melee touch attack. A laughing creature can only take a move action but can defend itself normally. Once a creature has been affected by laughing touch, it is immune to its effects for 24 hours. You can use this ability a number of times per day equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier. This is a mind-affecting effect.
Cantrips
Sorcerers learn a number of cantrips, or 0-level spells, as noted on Table: Sorcerer Spells Known under “Spells Known.” These spells are cast like any other spell, but they do not consume any slots and may be used again.
Eschew Materials
A sorcerer gains Eschew Materials as a bonus feat at 1st level.

Appearance:
Menas Dalaston like to wear clothing that is travel ready and wears well outdoors. The sorcerer keeps his clothing clean and smelling nice with prestidigitation. Menas's most noticable features are his tall, skin frame and his eyeglasses perched on his nose, when it's not deep inside books.

Personality:
Growing up around the hotel, Menas met and got to know many different kinds of people, giving him a friendly and outgoing personality, which endeared him to many. The sorcerer works hard for his parents, but ultimately know he must one day leave The Fingers and Toes for good, which makes him both anxious and sad.
Menas as learned some aspects of fey culture, like the Seelie and Unseelie courts. One of Menas's dearest wishes is to one day win the heart of a beautiful fey maiden, maybe a dryad or nymph.

Backstory:
Menas Dalaston was born to Aggie and Bronton Dalaston, owners of Kassen's 10-room hotel, The Fingers and Toes. Young Menas's adolescence was filled with people passing along through the hotel. Since all the Dalaston money went into upkeeping the hotel, Aggie first taught her son to read, then encouraged him to continue reading. Menas always preferred the outdoors, so the young boy was often found outside, under a tree, reading a book nearby, in case his parents called for help. Menas was a tall twig of a lad, not as athletic as the children in Kassen, except when it came to running races, and exploring the nearby forest. The innkeeper's son would often find interesting stone, seeds, and little creatures to bring home and collect. Aggie discouraged this behavior when she would often find frog and baby squirrels in freshly made rooms.
One time, a dark-skinned traveler, who may have been a monk, stay at The Fingers and Toes for one night, leaving a thick book written in Vadruni behind. Menas took this book and slowly taught himself the foreign language over the better part of a year. The innkeeper's son found the book was a manual on meditation practices of Casmaron. Well, his mother didn't mind his head in books of any kind, so young Menas began a journey of self-discovery through mediation.
For Menas, mediation worked best outside; so that is where he was one evening when it happened. Menas had achieved a very deep meditative state, where in his mind's eye, the young seeker of truth found himself surrounded by all manner of fey creatures near a crystal clear grotto. Many welcomed the human among them and Menas was having a wonderful time, until he felt his body shoved to the side. The young boy awoke to find many people in Kassen surrounding him with his father's scared face need to him. Bronton told his son that Menas was floating several feet in the air, glowing a bright purple, bright enough to catch the attention of the neighbors. Bronton finally took the initiative and shoveled his floating son to the side, correctly breaking Menas's concentration. The young lad was ushered into the hotel, away from prying eyes, and was inspected by several town elders. After some deliberation, it was believed that through mediation, Menas was able to unlock his sorcerous potential, which apparently had a connection to the nearby fey in the woods.
Despite the queer looks he would sometimes get from the townsfolk, Menas would seek out anyone or any book that had knowledge of fey creatures. These woodland beings would become Menas's new focus, along with experimenting with his new sorcerous abilities. Against his parent's wishes, Menas would also often take excursions with local rangers, hunters and druids, all who Menas deeply respected.
