In a very human-looking fashion, Gnasher raises his eyebrows as the large human confesses his concern. Looking from Zayifid to the others, he asks, "Why Zayifid afraid? Tribe just come from there, killed all ugly spider like things, nothing to fear." As he asks he tried to sense Zayifid's motives.

Better lucky than good I guess

He seems genuinely leery of the lower levels.

"I'm sure you all handled whatever is down there quite handily, but I am not you. Something about what is down there gives me the creeps. I'm going to sit this out and wait up here."

Shaking his head at strange tall human, Gnasher nods in agreement with Tarak. Pointing to the pit where Malinor said the 'tunnel' was. "We're headed that way." He pauses long enough to see if the strange priest follows, then drops into the pit headed for the tunnel.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Something I should have included in the combat card. The area inside the pit is difficult terrain. There are no 5' steps, no charging (without a special ability like dragon style), and moving takes twice as long (a diagonal costs 15' of movement and normal side to side takes 10').

@Urah
You are nauseated. Nasty condition. Probably a potion out there for that, but unfortunately you do not have it. So you can take another action if you can think of one.
Nauseated: Creatures with the nauseated condition experience stomach distress. Nauseated creatures are unable to attack, cast spells, concentrate on spells, or do anything else requiring attention. The only action such a character can take is a single move actions per turn.

@Gnasher
I moved Gnasher back a square as each diagonal takes 15' of movement and I figure you would wait until after moving so that your enlarge would not be hampered by your allies. That attack will be your AoO when it closes.

@Malgrim
I moved you back since it is difficult terrain.

Correct. You do not know how long. More than a few seconds but probably less than a minute as you feel the nausea slowly fade.

Tarak wings his way to safety, carefully avoiding the blowchow being spewed by Urah. Mr. Legs scurries closer to take a bite out of Gnasher. Gnasher is ready, however, and smacks him with his bardiche, but it clangs off of the sturdy exoskeleton harmlessly.

Gnasher has a bad time of it, not only failing to resist the poison, but alwo failing to penetrate the hellaciously hard chiton on Mr. Legs.

reflex: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23

In spite of it's bulk, it somehome manages to evade the brunt of the lightning, reaging up and letting it pass beneath it. Fortunately, Malgrim lands a solid one on it's ugly face and it chitters anxiously.

Then it is it's turn and it whips its tail and thrusts its mandibles. And it is on fire today. Gnasher takes a beat down in spite of the so-called fast healing.

to hit bite: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (15) + 13 = 28

to hit tail: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26

"Aaaarrrrghhhh" Bloodied and poisoned, Gnasher roars his defiance as the giant bug latches onto his shoulder then drives its stinger into his leg. Jerking himself loose as the insect's mandibles tear his shoulder, he lifts up his bardiche and chops at the creature's head.

Apologies, the paizo down time made me reset my cache and I had to relog in again.

Urah by now reconvenes with the group after leaving his selected cover that has a significant amount of vomit best not seen to.

We'll likely have to cut our explorations short. No way we can recover that amount of Dex damage in a short time.

Feeling his ability to move quickly literally drain from his body, Gnsher remembers he'd found a vial of neutralize poison. Pulling it from his pouch he drank it down.

Seeing Gnasher flopping around like a dying fish, Malgrim reaches down and heals him.

Kinetic Heal with Kinetic Restoration. Gnasher takes 2 Burn which will give him 12 non-lethal until he can rest.

Kinetic Healing Water Blast+EO: 3d6 + 9 + 2 ⇒ (6, 2, 3) + 9 + 2 = 22

Kinetic Restoration to regain Dex: 1d4 ⇒ 2

So 22 healing and 2 Dex regained.

Malgrim looks at him with concern and says, "I can aid your weakened state, but one of us is going to be pretty battered by it. We should find a place to rest before we do it. I suggest that secret garden. But we likely face more nightmares since we have yet to find who did that."

Tarak pipes in, ”I have one more scroll, if it helps us get to a safe harbor.”

happy to cast another restoration if we need some walking around … dexterity

As Malgrim said, Gnasher collapses and finds himself unable to control his movements. Any attempt so far simply results in spasms.

Zayfid watches the proceedings with some concern but does nothing to help.

Tarak can make DC 10 heal check to see if the scroll will help.

With Gnasher at -13 dex, with a roll, he would know that a lesser restoration would probably get him to his feet, though he would be pretty unsteady.

Urah looks on concerned as Gnasher seems unable to move on his own.

"Maybe we should head back and see ot his recovery. We definitely need to find someplace to recover. That will take some time to recover."

Still very wobbly Gnasher gets to his feet. Carefully, so as not to lose his balance, the gnoll bends over and picks up his bardiche. Huffing at the large boney Stegocentipede he whacks it with the end of his bardiche, "Stupid bug" Almost knocking himself off balance for his effort.

Furrowing his brow he turns to the others, "Gnasher not feel right. Maybe go where slaves are and rest?"

"Aye, rest would be good." Tarak notes.

Then, thinking a bit, he looks to the gnoll. "I only have a little magic left, but I could take the form of a larger animal and you could ride back to safety?"

Pausing for a moment Gnasher imagines himself trying to keep his balance on a large animal. Shaking his head he responds. "Gnasher ok to walk, will lean on bardiche if need help." He gestures towards the edge of the pit and begins to head that way.

If the old guy doesn't follow us I say the following. If he does Malgrim just watches him and follows along with the group.

Once they are out of ear shot Malgrim says, "I think we should go to the secret garden instead of where the slaves are. I think it will be safer for us to be somewhere no one probably knows how to get to. And safer for them in case something comes to challenges us while we are sleeping."

The group heads down to the garden and finds the garden quite relaxing. How long do you wish to rest there?

For some reason I thought Gnasher had a 12 dex though I have no idea where I got that idea.

Urah looks on enviously as Gnasher is given a lift from Tarak but he makes no objections to Malgrim's suggestion.

"Where we go. As long as it's safe it'll be fine." he for one didn't want to be embroiled in a fight where his biggest hitter was indisposed.
