Having headed to the 'secret garden' Gnasher makes himself as comfortable as possible. Looking towards the others he asks, "How long till Gnasher be Gnasher?" He then nods towards the stairs. "Should tribe tell humans where tribe went?"

On a DC 10 heal check you can read up on the rules for healing ability damage and assume your character knows it.

DC 10 is an autopass for Tarak

"Without magic, yer gonna be a little slow for a few days, assuming you rest fully." Tarak answers, "With a day of rest in a safe place and Malgrim, from what I have seen, we could get you up and hacking right quick." Looking over to Malgrim, "I think."

"I think we are safe. I will just heal you fully, but it will leave both of us deeply weakened."

So 2 burn per attempt. I will take the first, then give it to Gnasher and then go back and forth. If it would knock me out I just give it to Gnasher so that it goes through.

So that would give 14 and he gets one for sleeping. I take 6 burn and Gnasher takes 6 Burn. That should cover everything. Currently I am at 16 HPs and Gnasher is down 36 more HPs points for a total of 48 Non-Lethal until he rests.

Showing his teeth, in his almost human smile, at Urah's comment Gnasher was relieved even when death was near, some things didn't change. Nodding at Tarak's comment about needing magic he looked to Malgrim who explained about leaving them both weak. "Better week for a day than slow for many."

As Malgrim did his magic, Gnasher drew out his wand of Infernal healing, casting on himself every few minutes to let his own magic counter the other damage that had been done. As Malgrim uses his kinetic restoration ability and Gnasher eventually burns through four of the spells in the wand, Tired but feeling more like himself, He nods towards Malgrim. "Gnasher thanks Ghost and is in Ghosts debt," he holds up the wand asking, "Gnasher has one charge left on wand, Use on Ghost?"

Eating a little of the meat from his pack, Gnasher asks, "Tribe keep regular watch just in case?"
--------------------------------
In the morning, as he collects his bedroll and repacks his ruck sack, Gnasher takes the time to cast 'infernal healing' on the wand again. Shouldering his rucksack and picking up his bardiche he asks. "Tribe return to pit and search?"

With four charges from the wand and a full nights rest Gnasher should be fully recovered?

Gnasher, I did not roll it but you recieved 18d6+60 HPs from the Kinetic Healing and Kinetic Restoration rolls. You would not have needed any wand charges. I just did not realize you were still down actual hit points. Malgrim was also unhurt and had so much strain he would have just healed anyone at that point to save the charges.

Do we get hit with Nightmares again?

"I think we should return to the pit. I am also not sure I trust that man. He seems like he might be more then he appears." Malgrim says. "Do we want to check on the slaves before we return to the pit? I do think we should keep this garden secret for now."

Actually after a one hour rest you feel like you have rested for a full 8 hours of sleep! Those of you that regain hitpoints, spells or abilities after resting for a night are refreshed. Those of you on a daily schedule, like druids, do not regain spell however.

You are NOT plagued by nightmares. In fact, the rest was awesome. Also, Gnasher, you have an odd feeling about Zayfid, like you should not trust him. It started out as a niggling feeling, but it is pretty strong now. You also feel like there is something you need to do which has grown stronger now that you have discovered this new area.

Not sure if Gnasher would know that his weapon will do no good, so just trying to RP that

Seeing the mass of bugs crawling over each other, Gnasher lowers his weapon to the ground, swiping through the centipedes. Furrowing his brow as the bardiche just passes through the swarm, he turns, "Weapon does no good, Gnasher have no spells or vials, Gnasher distract bugs, tribe find way to burn bugs." He then moves across the room, waving his arms and laughing loudly.

So a wasted standard to attack and a move action trying to draw them away so the others can concentrate on dealing with the bugs?

Malgrim summons the water to him and throws a spindle at the swarm.

Gather Power, Spindle. 0 Burn gained. This is an Area of Effect spell for the swarm damage purposes. It hits a 5 ft by 10 ft area. It deals half the rolled damage with a Reflex DC 16 Save to reduce the damage to 1/4.

He did not ask about seeking out the others instead of being alone in this death trap. But I am not sure that is enough to try threatening or attacking him if he doesn't show his hand in some way. When we bring the ex-slaves down one might recognize him."

Did Zayfid follow us, or did he stay near the steps to the underground garden, or elsewhere?

Listening to Tarka and Malgrim Gnasher nods in agreement. "Tribe talk to slaves today, talk to elementals tomorrow." He begins to head back to where they'd left the slaves avoiding Zayfid if possible.

As they go, he adds, "Maybe slave can read funny letters."

Zayfid was hanging out on the throne, getting quite comfortable there.

The group heads back to the slave area. Do you do so by the tunnels or by the surface?

Either way nothing happens and you make it back to a busy camp. They got a nice fire going, fueled by broken furniture, casks, and other such consumables from the underground, and are eating roasted snake. Or at least some of them, It's an informal set up at best.

"Hello, we need some volunteers to aid us in clearing areas. Once we have finished here we can get you all back to civilization." Malgrim tells them when they have gathered together.

The slaves do not argue with you. If you want rocks cleared, you can have rocks cleared. Keep in mind that it will take them days to do much though.

Considering the location of the majority of the rocks, Gnasher remembered the narrow slits in the wall. Turning to Tarak he asked, "Would Storm Blessed want to turn into animal to go through narrow slits?" He shrugs, "Or tribe just rest and wait and see if Stormblessed's elemental can read."

So it sounds like the only possible plan other than leaving and coming back is having an elemental read the symbols in the 'garden cave'

Those are certainly options, though I'm sure there are other options. Might as well try the easiest one.

Urah is more then happy to warm himself by the fire and rest.

Though the way Zayfid lounges on the throne rubs him the wrong way. That seat should be his to enjoy.

Good thing he did not join you at the fire. He would have lounged there too, I suspect. Nope, he let you all return to the slaves and went his own way.

Seeing Urah rest himself by the fire, Gnasher looked at the others, "Should tribe rest for the night?" He paused a moment, then asked. "Maybe Zayfid's caused bad dreams?" Remembering the dreamless sleep they'd had, he asks. "Should tribe take humans back to cave garden?"

Tarak muses for a moment. "Aye, I can become a small animal and look behind those slits. I have enough energy to shift one more time today, but I'll be tapped out after that. I'll need a nights rest to even try to summon an elemental, so that will have to be tomorrow."

I think I can do a tiny animal, like a bird, at this level that should fit through those slits (IIRC they were high up?)

Tiny is 1-2 ft in size and is too large for the slits, which are a few inches across and one inch high. You would need to be able to become diminutive to do that. Tiny sounds a lot smaller than it actually is.

There are some spells you could prepare which might help though, like Spectral Scout or Burrow.

I’ll have to take a look at my spell list tonight, or maybe tomorrow AM

first thought would be elemental body I and earth glide, since the wall was stone, right?

"I am not sure about taking the slaves down there. They seem fine where they are for now and there are parts of the Garden we do not know about yet. Whatever attacked us has not bothered them. Whether that is Zayfid or not we don't know. Although he is the only creature in here that seems like a likely suspect." Malgrim says.

Nodding sagely at Malgrim's responses he asks "So tribe stay here tonight and see if nightmares return or go back to garden?"

Once there done talking, Gnasher looks for the mute slave girl they'd found and continue training her how to use her knife.

You mean use wild shape to turn into a small earth elemental, right? I don't think you have access to 4th level spells (elemental body I and earth glide) as a 6th level druid. That would definitely work, assuming no reinforcement from the inside. The disadvantage would be that you would be on your own.

It is not long before the mute slave girl returns with a bundle of wood from the outside and shyly accepts the invitation to train.
